The Forest
Summer 1922
As Eadrick and Ifunayla swam in the waterfall they discovered something extraordinary. Hidden within the rocks were emeralds, glowing with a gentle light.
Night after night, the moon’s soft rays kissed the rocks of the waterfall. Its lights intertwined with the power of the moon worked its magic on the minerals, transforming them slowly and beautifully.
The waterfall, a silent witness to their pure and deep love, absorbed every tender glance, and every shared kiss. This love, combined with the moon’s light, infused the rocks and created the emeralds.
A manifestation of their love , solidified within the earth.
They returned alone, and they each took a piece of the crystal.
Days later, they met again, their excitement filled the air. My leaves absorbed their joy, shining brighter than before.
“You seem really happy,” he said, unable to hide his own grin.
“I’ve got you something.” She bounced on her feet.
“Me too.” His eyes sparkled with anticipation.
They hand the small bags to each other.
Their eyes widened as they opened it. They both took the matching necklace out the bag.
“You made me a necklace.” They said at the same time. Gently, they placed the necklace around each other’s neck.
He pulled her toward him. Their forehead touched gently. “I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you too,” she said, bringing their lips together. Their kiss was a fusion of love.
