Chapter 10 Forever #2

“I will be the one getting his dick, love, and babies! I will be the one getting the life you think rightfully belongs to you! Deal with it bitch! I win! I win! I fuckin’ win!”

Suddenly, the air picked up around us, causing objects to fly all through the room.

Cabinets began to forcefully open and slam shut as the room shook with darkness and electrical charge.

I could feel the anger vibrating through me because of the hold Janelle still had on my man, but it wasn’t me who was causing the elements of my home to change.

It was Donovan. It was the Binding Shadow spirit.

“You ruined my life!” His tone was the deadliest and deepest it had ever been.

“I was happy, and you came in and stole that from me.” He gripped my neck, lifting me from the ground with one hand while the other still held the pregnancy test. “You want a life of eternal bliss, right? You want to be bound to my soul for eternity? Why wait and start our forever? Let’s start now! ”

His eyes were black again as his grip became unbearable.

I felt myself slip out of consciousness, but Donovan wasn’t letting me go that easily.

Slapping me roughly until my eyes slowly peeled open again, he clenched his jaw, mimicking the hold he had on my neck.

I wanted to pray, but it seemed pointless.

I tried to chant, but my power was obsolete against him.

I wanted to go back to a few weeks ago and smash the mirror where his face had appeared, but my pride would never let me admit fault.

Feeling us both levitate from the floor, I watched as the lights continued to flicker and a dark mass formed around us.

The girls screamed and watched in fear as Donovan’s black eyeballs rolled into his head.

His body began to shake uncontrollably as his neck snapped back so hard that I thought it was broken.

With his head distorted and mouth opened wide, a thick dark entity descended from him, as he screamed out in pain, making it hard for him to breathe.

As the entity completely left his body, we both dropped to the ground with a thud.

Watching the Binding Shadow linger, I feared my ultimate karma would be the entity transitioning into my body next.

Instead, it swam the room before dissipating through a wall.

“Donovan!” Janelle cried, running to his aid. In the midst of danger, after everything that had taken place, she still loved him. Regardless of everything, she still wanted to make sure he was all right. Shaking his lifeless body, she shook him as she sobbed. “Baby, please!”

“Don’t cry for him, dearie…”

I stilled, a chill running down my spine at the sound of the eerie voice.

“True love never dies. It may bend from the tests it endures, but it will never expire.”

A misty white cloud formed, as everything in the house began to fly toward the mass and spin.

Once the fog cleared, the last person I’d ever expect appeared: Gertrude.

Old and ugly as ever, she was dressed in a long black dress with a laced veil over her face.

Her eyes glimmered white as snow as she moved to hover over a weeping Janelle and a dying Donovan.

Twisting the top off a small vial, she doused a few drops over his body before speaking.

A love so pure can’t be replaced

No matter the curse that it shall face

Live your life so free and true

For what you lost will come back to you

Gasp!

Shooting up from the floor, Donovan’s widened pupils skimmed the room slowly before his focus landed on Janelle.

Tears filled his eyes as he pulled her into his arms and cried for the love that was almost lost. I watched helplessly in disgust as they professed their love for not only each other, but also their unborn seed.

“Sabrena Winsor, from the shunned Winsor Family.” She lifted her hands, bringing me to my feet with them.

“You were warned time and time again not to engage in the darkness that comes of practicing black magic. You’ve angered the spirits, summoning one that hasn’t been disturbed in years.

You didn’t heed the warning that was given to you, and now… you must pay.”

Paralyzed by magic and fear, I whimpered as the dark entity reappeared and joined Gertrude.

Both surrounded me, forming a deep gray mass as the shadows that danced in Donnie’s eyes now danced around me.

Well over seven feet, the smell that exuded from the dancing shadows was of rotten flesh.

The red glow in their eyes scared me into urinating on myself.

You played with hearts when their love was pure

Loss and pain were what they had to endure

You wanted the love and the life it would entail

Now you’re bound to me, where we will reside in hell

The deadly voice boomed throughout the room, causing glasses to break and shatter all through the house.

Engulfing me in their embrace, they squeezed and smothered me so tightly, I could feel each bone in my body break one by one.

I watched with wide eyes as Donovan grabbed Janelle, dragging her to the other side of the room.

Gertrude, still in attendance but silent, floated over to Trevor, gripped him by his shirt, and lifted him from the floor.

She whispered into his ear before transporting a white light from her mouth into his.

He gasped loudly, taking deep breaths as she placed him on the floor. “Go.” She pointed toward my front door. Barely holding onto the hinges, it slid open for my former crew to exit my home. “Live your life. Your bond is one that no one will break, no matter how hard they try.”

“M-My friend… Ash,” Janelle spoke shakily. “Will she be okay?”

“Go to her, dearie.” Gertrude rasped with a crooked smile. “Live the life destined for you. Leave here today with lighter hearts. Don’t look back and worry about yesterday. Don’t live in the future, worrying about what’s to transpire. There is no room in your life for what’s happening here.”

Pushing them out of the door, Janelle turned and locked eyes with me one last time as the door closed them out, shutting on our friendship as well.

Gargling on my own blood, I began to convulse as the grip around my body only got tighter.

How I was still alive didn’t confuse me because the powers that be are just that—powerful.

“You could have lived a good life with someone who loved you…” Gertrude tsked as she sat in my recliner.

The floors underneath us began to split with what appeared to be lava seeping through.

The room became scorchingly hot as life began to leave my body.

“Now, you have an eternity to live with the one who binds you.”

When you bind a heart, you bind your fate

Love turns into poison, and it’s as sharp as hate

The chains you cast will hold you too

For what you take will come for you

It might come fast, sometimes it’s slow

But the spirits you summon will always show

Be not quick to grab what is not yours

Lest you are ready to open the demon’s doors
