EPILOGUE

*3 YEARS LATER*

“Happiness”

Aaron

The first rays of sun were passing though the curtains. I moved, wanting to see my wife sleeping, but found the bed empty.

I smiled to myself.

And she was scared of not being good at this.

I chuckled.

Like Maya could be anything but the best at what he did.

I sighed.

I’m a lucky guy.

I rose from our bed and went directly to what used to be our empty room.

We always danced around about what to do with this room, I knew what I wanted to do with it, but my wife was on the fence. Until a year and a half.

I entered my favorite room of the house, trying to make the least amount of sound possible.

My wife was singing a lullaby.

Our little girl in her hands. She was looking at our baby with so much love that I fell in love even more with her.

“I know,”

she said low. “Your dad’s arms are more comfortable. I agree with you, but he needs to sleep too, and I absolutely love having you in my arms. Can you do it for Mom?”

My two girls.

My whole world.

I walked backwards, wanting to give them some time alone, after making sure they were fine.

My wife raised her head. Smiled at me.

“She just ate,”

she whispered.

I got closer, and kissed my wife.

“Did you rest?”

I asked. She nodded.

I kissed our girl on her head.

She made a happy noise, and my wife and I couldn’t content our laughter.

This sleepless nights were making us a bit delusional.

I wouldn’t change it for anything.
