Chapter 7
When the pizza is finally delivered I'm already starving. I call out for Trina to tell her that her pizza has arrived. We both ordered our own since we have different tastes. We both eat our food in the living room.
"I never realized how hungry I was," I comment while eating my third slice of pizza.
"Yeah me either," She says looking at my plate, "then again we had a long day of shopping. I still have to find some shoes for my dress. Do you want to join me tomorrow for some shoe shopping?" She asks.
"Sure! As long as we don't go to so many stores this time."
I warn and Trina laughs. Part of me doesn't want to go with her but I'm desperate for a distraction.
Xander has popped into my mind constantly, no matter how many distractions I get myself into I will always find my thoughts drift back to him.
"Well, I hope I find something." She says noticing my sudden silence. I continue eating my pizza and notice I've eaten at least half of my food. I stop myself from eating more and save the rest for later.
"I don't know about you but I'm full," Trina says after going through 4 slices of pizza. "It's still early. Do you want to watch a movie?" She asks while looking at her phone.
"Sure," I say. The more time I spend away from my phone the better I won't be tempted to answer his messages.
"What do you want to watch?" She asks while scrolling through Netflix.
"Anything but romance," I say teasingly.
We decide on a movie that has some romance but is more of a mystery type of movie. When we get through the film my eyes start to feel heavy but I keep myself awake until the end of the movie.
"That was some ending," Trina comments about the movie we just watched.
"I'm getting a little tired so I'm going to head to bed," I say to her and she agrees with me.
When I get into my pajamas I decide that I'm too tired to take off my make up so I just leave it on. I then proceed to collapse into my bed and fall fast asleep.
The next morning I wake up around 9 and decide to take a shower.
I never released how tired I was until last night's makeup streams down my face after my shower.
After cleaning my face I re-apply a fresh face of natural makeup and get dressed into some casual clothing keeping in mind Trina wants to go out and shop again.
As soon as I'm dressed I head back to my nightstand to get my phone but I notice that my voicemail inbox is full.
I take the initiative to go through my voicemail by deleting them.
I know it's Xander but I really wish he could just wait till we meet on Monday.
Thirty minutes go by and I've gone through my entire voicemail inbox and trying to not be tempted to answer any of his messages.
When I'm finished clearing my phone I head to the kitchen.
Knowing that Trina is still asleep I make her and I breakfast.
I cook sausage, eggs, pancakes, and put some coffee to brew.
When my coffee is made I immediately feel a little nauseous and head to my bathroom to throw up.
I swear it must be the fact I'm getting sick.
I make a mental note to call my doctor about my nausea.
After brushing my teeth I see that Trina has gotten out of her room dressed in her robe.
"Morning! I made breakfast." I say.
"I see that. You know you didn't have to." Trina says while meeting me by the counter table.
"I know but I thought I could do something since I got up earlier," I explain while I pull a chair out to sit.
"Well let's not make it a habit because I'll have to sleep in more from now on." She says jokingly.
I smile and we dig into our food. After going through our food we decide on going back to the stores in an hour.
Trina excuses herself so she could get ready to leave and I use the hour to clean the kitchen after my sudden urge to cook breakfast.
Once I'm done cleaning I move to the living room by picking up last night's take out dinner.
I soon get back to my room and keep my mind busy by putting away some laundry I left.
Finally, I hear Trina announce that she is ready to leave.
I'm more than happy to leave the apartment and once again I leave my phone on the nightstand powered off.
Later that day, we head to Macy's to see their selection of shoes.
I'm glad Trina instantly finds the shoes she's looking for because I'm not looking forward to another long day of walking.
She settles on some black heels with various straps on them and some silver stilettos to wear.
After Trina purchases her shoes we head to the beauty department knowing that I may need to get a few things since I'm kind of running low.
Finally, we idle around to the next few stores trying to look for some jewelry to go with her ensemble.
Soon after I suggest we eat some lunch since it's already going to be 2.
She agrees to my suggestion and we head to a bar and grill restaurant nearby.
"I can't believe you held back on buying the entire store," I say after the last shop we visited.
"I know right! There were so many options I wish I went yesterday instead of spending it all on work."
She says with a fake pout on her face. I giggle and say that now that we have everything that we could head back home.
Our food arrives and I didn't realize how much hungrier I was until my food is placed in front of me.
Once our food is scarfed down we get a ride back to the apartment and Trina decides to make a late dinner since I cooked breakfast for both of us.
I let her know if she needs help I'm more than happy to offer.
I head to my room and turn on my phone seeing a massive string of missed phone calls and voicemails.
By the time I finish clearing my phone. It's still early to eat dinner and I feel very tired so I decide to take a quick nap before dinner.
My mind drifts to Xander that one evening I can only wish he were here to tell me the same things he said to me. My subconscious makes me believe he is at my door knocking. The knocking gets louder and I soon wake up to actual knocking from my bedroom door. I get up from my bed and open it.
"Sorry I accidentally took a long nap," I apologize.
"No worries! I figured you had a long day."
She says understanding "Well the food is ready."
She says heading to the dining table. From what I can smell I notice she made a chicken pasta dish with some creamy sauce.
She also paired the pasta with some dinner rolls and a simple side salad.
From the smell alone I can tell the food is going to be good.
As soon as I sit down I begin making my plate taking as much as I can.
"Whoa! I didn't realize you were that hungry." Trina comments as I grab two dinner rolls.
"I guess so," I say with a weak smile.
Once we get through dinner the table of food is cleared and we linger at the dining table.
"That was good Trina. Thanks for making dinner." I compliment her.
"Hey, no problem! I'm glad you liked it."
She thanks. We eventually begin clearing the table and I help her load the dishwasher.
Trina suggests we watch another movie and I agree because it's only 8.
Trina decides on the movie since I decided on the last one and she picks a comedic movie.
As we start the film We both find ourselves laughing the entire time.
When the movie finishes it's already 10.
Trina decides to retire to her room while I do the same.
When I get to my room I decide to get ready for bed.
Once I'm done I look at my phone and notice that I have fewer notifications.
I'm starting to feel like he is taking the hint that we need to talk on Monday.
I just hope he doesn't take back what he said that night because my heart can't take it if he does.
Instead of pondering my doubts I decided to watch a rerun on Netflix until I fall asleep.
An hour later my eyes grow heavy and I close my laptop leaving it on my nightstand next to my phone. I let sleep take over.
The next day, I wake up around 10 and realize it's Sunday.
Usually, I spend it getting some errands done like groceries, laundry, or chores.
Noticing I did two of those things I decide on getting groceries instead.
The nearest store is only a block away from the apartment.
I get out of bed and I'm suddenly hit with nausea from getting up too quickly.
When I'm done vomiting I get my phone and see there are no new calls.
I can only guess he must be busy or he has finally understood my intentions of not calling him.
Setting my phone down I get dressed and decided on not putting any makeup on.
I head towards the kitchen and fix myself breakfast.
While eating I notice a simple slip of paper left on the counter.
I read it noticing that it's Trina telling me that she is out getting a few things done and might not be back till 7.
So much for a distraction when I needed it.
I clean my plate and put my shoes on to go to the grocery store.
I grab my purse and reusable bags knowing that I might buy a lot.
With only two large bags of groceries, I head back to the apartment and notice that my nails could use some maintenance.
After putting away my food I get an Uber to go to my usual salon which is further away from the apartment.
Getting my nails and feet done takes up more of my time.
After all, I needed my time to be spent away from my thoughts of Xander but sometimes I find myself thinking about him anyway.
When I get back I heat up my leftover pizza for my dinner and I work on re-organizing my closet.
When most of my clothes are organized I hear the front door open knowing it's Trina back from her errands. I walk out of my room to greet her.
"Hey welcome back," I say.
"Thanks! I had a lot of stuff to do." She goes on to explain that she had to get her hair done earlier.
I notice she has some small highlights put into her hair as well as some layers.
After the salon, she went to get her nails done which I tell her we should have gotten them done together.
She laughs at the coincidence and I tell her how my day went.
We then decide to go to bed because we talked for a while.
I wish her a good night and she does the same.
Before I go to bed I lay out my clothes for the next day.
I decide on wearing one of the newer work dresses that I bought this weekend.
The dress is a simple maroon wrap dress with a v-neck collar and three quarter inch sleeves.
I pair the dress with some simple black heels.
Setting aside my outfit I then get ready for bed and drift off to sleep not knowing what tomorrow will hold.
