Chapter 276
“Don’t even think about it!”
Arthur’s voice cracked with rage as he slammed his palm on the table.
His composure was gone, replaced by raw frustration.
“Khloe, even with shares, you don’t get to override the entire management structure on your own.
Fox Group belongs to the Fox family. If you push this any further, the one who gets removed will be you. ”
Khloe didn’t even blink.
“By all means,” she said calmly.
Her tone was light, but there was nothing soft about it.
She gestured slightly to the lawyers beside her.
“I’ll be initiating a full audit of Fox Group’s financial records for the past three years. I suggest you both start preparing your explanations.”
The room went still.
A full audit.
Everyone in that room understood what that meant.
No large corporation survived a deep forensic audit without consequences. And Fox Group, with its tangled internal financing and blurred approvals, would be especially vulnerable.
Trey’s expression changed first.
For the first time, uncertainty cracked through his confidence.
“Khloe…” he said, forcing his voice to stay steady. “You don’t have to take it this far. If you’re angry, direct it at me. There’s no need to drag the entire company into this. My father has never mistreated you—”
Arthur cut in sharply.
“Enough!” His face was flushed now, veins tightening at his temples.
He pointed at Khloe as he could still command obedience through force alone.
“She’s trying to seize control illegally.
Call the emergency shareholders’ meeting.
Now. I want this decision overturned immediately. Legal—prepare the injunction!”
But no one moved.
The legal team stood frozen.
The executives exchanged silent looks.
No one wanted to be the first to step into the fire.
Arthur’s authority, once unquestioned, now felt like noise in an empty hall.
Trey stepped forward again, lowering his voice this time.
“Khloe… don’t do this.”
There was something different in his tone now. Not anger.
Fear.
And beneath it, humiliation he couldn’t hide.
“I’ll do whatever you want,” he said, forcing the words out.
“If you’re angry at me, fine. Take it out on me.
But don’t involve the company. You know the Fox Group’s foundation isn’t something you can shake just by holding shares.
Our network, our influence—you don’t understand what you’re challenging. ”
He sounded like he was warning her.
But it came out like pleading.
Khloe didn’t even look at him.
She turned slightly toward the lawyer.
The lawyer stepped forward immediately, voice precise and unhurried.
“According to the company bylaws, Miss Roswell, as a fifty-percent shareholder, holds absolute authority over executive appointments and removals.”
He paused, letting the silence sharpen.
“As for any emergency shareholder motion to overturn this decision—without unanimous support, it is not legally binding.”
His gaze swept across the room.
“Therefore, the motion may proceed to a vote.”
Arthur’s head snapped toward the remaining shareholders.
“Vote!” he barked. “What are you all waiting for?”
His voice had lost its polish entirely. It was raw now—desperate, almost panicked. “Do you think she can just walk in here and rewrite everything?”
The two minority shareholders stiffened.
They were long-time Fox allies. Their stakes were small—barely enough to influence anything—but their loyalty had always been assumed.
Until now.
Their eyes flicked toward Khloe.
Then toward Arthur.
Then toward Trey.
The room felt heavier with every second.
Because this time, loyalty came with risk.
Khloe held fifty percent of the company.
And she had come prepared.
Arthur’s side… did not look like the winning one anymore.
One of the shareholders swallowed hard, finally breaking the silence—but even he didn’t know which direction he was leaning.
Outside the boardroom windows, the city kept moving.
Inside, Fox Group was no longer the same company it had been that morning.
