Chapter Nineteen

Blade

Pure rage is all I feel after what just got exposed. I hate that Sera’s past has been exposed in a similar fashion to mine. I know I’m the one who spoke the words, but no way was I going to allow Patricia to try and spin it, so Sera came out looking like she was in the wrong. Fuck that noise.

While Patricia is arguing with Wrath, I notice Mama June and Blaze are standing behind her, and Mama June is slowly making her way behind Patricia. I have to duck down and hide my smile in Sera’s hair before I give away the lovely surprise Patricia is about to get.

“Get ready.” I whisper to Sera. I feel her barely nod in acknowledgement of my words.

Then it happens: Mama June takes Patricia down. Kick straight to the back of her knees, and she”s tumbling to the floor, with no idea what has caused her sudden predicament. Mama June leans down and rolls her over, so Patricia can now see who’s attacked her.

“Now it looks like my Christmas and birthday came all at once. I’ve waited over thirty years to get my hands on you.”

Patricia’s eyes go wide with fear. I love her reaction. It’s about time she got what’s coming to her.

“W-What are you doing here? You’re not meant to be here.” Patricia stutters out.

”Well, it looks like my surprise return was a good thing. I’m sure you wouldn’t have been brave enough to show your face otherwise.”

Patricia tries to roll herself away from Mama June, but she stops her with a foot to her stomach.

”No, you stay still. We’ve got some business to deal with shortly.” Looking up at Jasmine, she continues talking. “Would you like to explain why you thought you had the right to bring this bitch in here?”

“I-I. Erm. She wanted to see her daughter.” Jasmine stutters, sounding terrified.

“No. That’s bullshit; I want the truth.”

“Mama, I think I can answer that.” I say before Jasmine can speak. “My guess is that this is your newest game, right? Sera stopped your attack on me, and when your little game using Cam didn’t work, you came up with this plan instead? What I’d like to fucking know is why a brother walked in with you both.” I say, turning my attention to Lanky.

Both Jasmine and Lanky start to shift, no doubt hoping they can somehow get out of here. The thing is, that’s never going to happen. While we’ve been talking, other members have moved to surround our little group. They have no escape.

“Answer him.” Wrath angrily says.

Lanky doesn”t, though; he actually tries to make a run for it. He doesn’t even get one step before he’s on the floor with a very angry Flame on top of him. Flame grabs Lanky’s head and pulls it back before smashing it into the floor. Knocking him out cold. Flame gets off him and shakes out his body.

“Someone get this fucker downstairs.” He grits out.

Rock is the one who acts; being a bigger guy, he has no problem lifting Lanky’s unconscious body over his shoulder and carrying him out of the room.

“Really babe?” Wrath asks.

“What?” Flame asks, sounding totally innocent.

“You’re fucking gay.” Patricia spits out from the floor. Sounding disgusted.

This woman seriously isn’t making her situation any better. Why in the world would she even voice any dislike for Wrath’s sexuality? Especially in her situation.

”Oh, shut your trap.” Mama June says, leaning down and smacking Patricia across the face. “It’s none of your fucking business. I for one am happy about this development, baby boy.” She says, looking up at Wrath with nothing but love in her gaze.

”Thanks, Mama June.” Wrath and Flame say in unison.

“Now. Can someone move this bitch downstairs where I can deal with her properly?” Mama June asks.

“You need to let me go. You won’t like what happens if you don’t.”

“You think Sabbatini is going to come in here and save you? Are you stupid? If he believed he could waltz in here and take Sera, he already would have. Instead, he sent you. He knows what happened last time he tried shit with me. If you didn’t know, it didn’t end very fucking well for him.” Wrath says.

Patricia’s entire body starts to shake at Wrath’s words. She fucking deserves to feel every ounce of fear she currently is. I watch as Eagle bends down and grabs Patricia’s arm, pulling her to her feet. Before forcing her to walk out of the room. He’s going to take her downstairs, just like Mama June wanted.

With Patricia and Lanky now gone, all attention turns back to Jasmine.

“You’re done, Jasmine. This latest stunt was too fucking far. Not only did you endanger Sera by bringing Patricia in here, but also Cam. What do you think would have happened if she got her hands on my son?” Wrath sounds livid.

“She didn’t want Cam. Just her daughter. Why shouldn’t I have helped her?”

“Are you stupid?” Sera butts in. “Patricia would have done anything to get her hands on me. Including using Cam as a bargaining chip. Why do you think that as soon as I spotted her, I had Wreck get him out of here?”

“No. She wanted to meet Cam for sure, but that’s only because he’s her grandson.”

”No, it’s not, but you believe what you want. I think I know that woman a little better than you.”

Before Jasmine can speak, Wrath does. “Jasmine I don’t care what bullshit excuses you have; you were fucking warned. You’re no longer welcome here, and sure as shit, you aren’t going to be seeing my son again.”

“You can’t do that!” She shouts.

“I can, and I will. Now Piston, if you don’t mind, will you remove this bitch from my Clubhouse before I forget the fact that I don’t hit women?”

Piston moves towards Jasmine, grabbing her arm and starting to guide her from the room. As she’s about to leave, she turns to look at me and Sera.

“This is your fault. You’ll both regret this.”

Piston just carries on dragging her from the room. Once she’s gone, I turn Sera in my arms and hug her to my chest. I know how hard this has got to be on her. There’s no way she wanted her family to find out this way. We’re going to have to deal with this; that’s a fact.

“Everyone go back to it. Shows over.” Wrath shouts into the room.

Everyone listens, except for Sera’s family and Wreck. I know why Wreck has stayed. Shadow looks utterly fucking broken by what he’s learned. He’s going to need Wreck’s support to get through the conversation that’s to come. Wrath still looks absolutely livid. Flame looks angry himself, but he’s currently got his husband clamped in his grip, no doubt holding him back. Blaze looks distraught. I can see in his eyes that he wants to comfort his daughter, but he can also see that she’s where she wants to be. In my arms. Where she belongs.

“Angel.” I whisper, grabbing her attention. “Are you ready for this?”

She looks up at me, her eyes filled with tears that she’s holding back.

“As long as you’re with me.”

That right there makes me feel thousands of feet tall.

“Always.”

That gains me a watery smile. I drop a kiss on her forehead. As much as I want to kiss the shit out of her, now isn’t the time, and we need to have a serious conversation before that can happen. Right now, our focus needs to be on the conversation to come.

“Take her to Church Blade. We’ll be there soon. I”m just going to speak to Tech and Cam.” Wrath says.

Nodding my head, I guide Sera out of the room, arm over her shoulder. I know why he picked Church. The room is big enough to contain everyone it needs to while also giving everyone enough space to lose their shit safely. And losing their shit is going to happen. I only know the basics of what happened to her back then, and I know this is going to go into a lot more than the basics. She’s going to have to tell us about the grim things her so-called fucking mother forced her into—things no fucking child should ever have to experience, especially because of the person who is meant to protect them above all else. I know the details are going to destroy something inside Wrath, Shadow, and Blaze. They’re going to blame themselves for not knowing about her and being unable to protect her from being repeatedly abused and raped. She never had to say the words; I could fucking see it in her eyes when we spoke. The same look that lingers in my own. She’s right about one thing: pain recognizes pain.
