Chapter 18

Eighteen

TRULY

Monday afternoon…

I opened my eyes and knew exactly where I was.

That realization alone had me smiling wide before I could even stop myself.

I sat up in Bleu’s pillow soft bed and stretched slowly.

I was naked and comfortable as hell. Flashes of last night played back in my head and I couldn’t stop blushing.

Butterflies fluttered at the bottom of my stomach.

There wasn’t an inch of me that Bleu didn’t touch or lick. The boldness of what I did at the restaurant heated my cheeks. I shut my eyes and laid back on the bed. I spread my arms and legs like I was trying to create an angel in a pile of snow. Damn I feel good as hell!

I felt like I was ready to conquer the world and everything in.

Sunlight peeked through the curtains, casting a soft golden glow across the room.

The scent of Bleu’s cologne still lingered in the air, wrapping me in the memory of his touch.

I let out a contented sigh, savoring the rare feeling of complete and utter bliss.

I loved that he brought me here besides his nice penthouse.

This felt like the real him beyond the luxury in it.

He could have kept me at that penthouse overlooking downtown L.A.

It was a temporary place that he used to impress the women he slept with.

This was his home, the place he came to just be himself in his own comfort zone.

Last night he mentioned that the city we were in was called Breeze.

It was on the outskirts of L.A. His father owned all of it, which was why the streets were lined with open fields instead of crowded homes.

I hadn’t seen much of it last night but could feel the difference.

The peace and space. Paparazzi didn’t come here at all.

Bleu also mentioned that his parents’ estate was about eight minutes up the road.

His bedroom was massive in size but still cozy. It was the kind of big that still made you feel comfortable. He had a charcoal rug that covered most of the hardwood floor. The walls inside of were painted gray-blue and were trimmed with matte black accents.

His king size bed was the focal point of the room. He had a black leather couch next to the ceiling to floor window. It surprised me that Bleu didn’t live in a mansion. The land surrounding his house made the three-bedroom modern flat style home look small on the outside.

“I gotta start packing an overnight bag on our date nights.” I muttered to myself.

I slipped out of bed and padded barefoot toward the glass window.

I pressed my hand to the glass and smiled softly.

My phone on top of the nightstand next to the bed started to ring.

I glanced down at it, and my heart skipped a beat seeing Lo Lo’s name.

She was calling from her iPad. I hurried to answer it with my small smile turning into a big one.

“About damn time you answered!”

Aubry’s voice was a straight jab at the peace and goodness I felt waking up. My smile vanished instantly, and I felt myself frozen in place.

“Where’s Lo?” I frowned.

“She good as always since she’s with me,” he snapped. “You on the other hand done lost your hoe ass mind!” He gritted out.

I kept the phone up enough to reveal only my face on the facetime call. Aubry eyes were red; he looked high out of his mind like he hadn’t got any sleep.

“Aubry, I’ll call you when I get home. I don’t got time for this shit.” I spat back.

I really didn’t want to mess up my mood because of him. He wasn’t worth it and none of this concerned our daughter.

“Bitch you don’t dismiss me. That nigga got you really feeling yourself, but you must’ve forgot what the fuck it really is. You running around this bitch with that gay fashion house nigga like you some kind of Instagram model!” He hissed the words out like poison as spit flew out his mouth.

“I told you to dead that shit! Since you don’t want to listen, you won’t be seeing Lo—”

The phone was snatched out of my hand abruptly. Bleu looked at me like he was pissed, his eyes traveled down to my naked body then back up to my eyes. With his free hand, he pulled his hand back then smacked the top of my ass.

“Don’t ever answer the phone naked in my home.” He stated lowly.

For a second, I forgot all about Aubry being on the phone. His hazel orbs held me captivated. The sting on my ass, along with the sight of his well-defined shirtless body took me by surprise.

“Aubry, you’ll see me soon.” Bleu said before hanging up the call.

He smoothly tossed my phone on the bed and continued to eye me.

“Bleu what did you just do?” I panicked snapping out of the trance I was in.

“You just saw with your eyes and heard with your ears.” He shrugged then tried to pull me close to him.

I refused because I felt like he had overstepped.

“He has my daughter; Aubry is real fucking tricky, and I don’t need him playing more game when it comes to Lo Lo!” I hugged myself.

Just thinking about all the bullshit that Aubry had put me through since my daughter was born made me livid.

I wanted peace and to be able to raise her without any hiccups.

So far this between Bleu and I was sex and a good time.

I liked him a lot but would drop him fast in order to maintain something healthy enough with Aubry to co-parent my baby properly.

“Once I have a sit down with him, courts and everything else will no longer be a problem for you.” He said calmly.

“Listen Bleu,” I smacked my lips then pointed my finger at him. “He’s my child’s father, and—”

“No, you listen.” His voice elevated.

His eyes darkened as he turned quickly away from me. I watched his back flex as he walked towards his dresser. I never noticed the Louis Vuitton hot pink robe until he picked it up and brought it to me.

“I can’t think straight with you standing there naked.” He licked his lips and smirked down at me.

I blushed and slowly put on the robe wanting to tease him. It felt soft against my skin. I closed it up and tied the robe with a smile on my face almost forgetting why I was mad at him.

“Now, Truly, I want you to understand some shit.” He stepped back into my personal space.

“I’m not going to allow Aubry to continue to make your life with your daughter tough. I want to see you happy.” His voice softened.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because I decided last night that I want you in my life. I’m willing to make the time and push forth the effort.

We start out with trust and open honesty…

that’s the start of any relationship until somebody crosses the line.

Things with us might appear to move fast for you.

To me, it’s just me making things happen because I’m a grown ass man.

I have the kind of money that could erase the thorn in your side and never trace back to me for the right price.

I’m pretty sure if it did come back to me, your father would defend my honor in court. ” He chuckled.

Goosebumps spread across my skin. There wasn’t a trace of humor in his expression as he chuckled all the way to his leather couch and took a seat.

Bleu spread his legs apart and motioned for me to come to him.

Obediently, I walked over to him slowly and took a seat across from him in the leather love seat.

“I have a lot to lose and so do you with Princess. I’m not stepping into your world to make things complicated. I’m stepping in to give you a soft life. The kind that women pray for but never get because of bitch ass niggas like Aubry. You understand what I’m saying?” He bit into his bottom lip.

His serious eyes captured mine and held my uncertain stare.

“I understand what you saying, and it all sounds good, but—”

“Your hesitant to trust me.”

He nodded his head slowly and stood.

“I have no problem proving it to you. We can take things at your pace to a certain degree.”

“And what’s that degree?” I tilted my head.

“Get up and follow me.” He held his hand out.

I grabbed his hand and rose from the loveseat.

Without knowing Bleu for long I felt so much in the certainty of his words.

A huge part of me wanted to just go out on a whelm and trust his every word.

But then there was this damaged side of me that was reluctant.

It was that nagging ‘Why Me?’ filling my head with negative thoughts.

Bleu was the type of man a woman dreamed about but never got. I had a lot of flaws with me, and it seemed like he overlooked them and became determined to get me. What would happen when he got me though?

“I want to show you something outside.” He picked my hand up and kissed the back of it.

He walked me out of his room, down the hallway until we reached his front door. His house smelled like cinnamon and cedar. Every few steps he had pictures of his family on the wall which meant that he was family oriented like I was.

When we stepped outside, the air was crisp. The afternoon sunlight gleamed off his well-manicured lawn. The sound of the wind blowing through the trees relaxed me as we took careful steps down his porch steps.

I froze when my eyes landed on his driveway.

A brand-new pearl white Mercedes-Benz S580 glowed under the sunlight with a big pink bow wrapped around it.

The closer we got, the more real it became.

Speechless, I gripped his hand tighter as I stopped my stride making him stop walking as well to gaze up into his eyes.

He didn’t have to tell me it was mine, I felt it. The knowing look in his eyes confirmed it. A painful lump rose in my throat as I tried to properly formulate my words to even begin to thank him.
