Chapter 31

Thirty-One

Jaclyn

Present

This morning I woke up with the worst hangover.

I usually don’t get hangovers but after the club, Natalia and I had an afterparty of our own in the hotel. We smoked a little weed that she got from Max and we were still a little drunk from the club.

I was a wreck this morning. Natalia woke me up saying we had to go to breakfast with everyone since Nicole made reservations.

I had fun last night though. It was definitely an interesting experience going to a male strip club. Nicole got a private dance from one of the strippers and I saw them making out a couple times which I was a little shocked at because I thought she maybe liked Hayden a little or respected him.

I know for a fact that Hayden doesn’t give two shits because he keeps trying to make a move on me.

But they have no respect or love for one another at all.

So then why the fuck are they getting married?

It keeps nagging at my brain as I watch Hayden across from me at the table and Nicole sitting next to him. They aren’t touching one another or looking at each other. Nicole is talking to her friends while Hayden has his eyes on me.

I’m sitting in between Max and Kayden. Martin is sitting next to Max and then Natalia and Chris are sitting next to Kayden. Across is Hayden, Nicole, and her friends.

Hayden looks annoyed, I can tell by the way his jaw keeps clenching.

Meanwhile I’m sitting across from him, wondering so many things because nothing seems to make sense.

This morning I talked to Junior and as usual he always reminds me of Hayden because of how similar they look.

Junior misses me and I told him I’d be back soon and that I miss him. He’s been taking his meds, he told me. I told him that when I come back I’ll have a lot of presents for him that I got here. I can’t help but buy him clothes and everything cute for him.

I love spoiling my boy.

My heart and body aches for Junior because I’ve never been away from him this long. I trust Brandon to watch over him but God, all I want to do is hold him.

Looking at Hayden makes me feel closer to Junior, just because of how similar he is to him.

They are literally twins.

I mean that’s why I called Junior, Junior. He is a mini version of Hayden, looks-wise for now.

“Water, miss?’ the waiter asks, making me look away from Hayden.

“Yes, please. Thank you.” I smile as he pours water.

“How was last night?” Kayden asks.

“Good. We had fun.”

“What’d you guys end up doing? I heard you came back late.”

I shrug. “We went to a club.”

“Sounds fucking boring. We went to a party at Killian’s. He has such good whiskey. Need to hang out with that guy more often.” Max says.

“Wasn’t boring for Jaclyn,” Natalia says and I look at her as she smirks my way. “She got a stripper’s number.”

“What?” Chris and Hayden say at the same time.

Chris looks at Natalia with a confused look and then Hayden is glaring at me with his jaw still clenched.

“Oh, you pulled a stripper?” Kayden says, looking between Hayden and I with a stupid smile on his face.

“Is he hot?” Max asks.

“Wait, you guys went to a strip club?” Chris asks, still looking at Natalia.

She got herself in trouble.

That’s what she gets.

“Yes, and we didn’t even touch them, just drank, and danced. Calm down,” Natalia says while running her hand down Chris’s chest.

“Wait, you got a stripper's number?” Chris says, looking at me now.

My cheeks turn red and I can’t help but smile shyly. “Yea.”

“Are you going to call him?” Max asks, now looking at Hayden and back at me.

God, what are they all doing?

I shrug. “I don’t know. He seemed nice.”

“Nice,” Hayden mutters while shaking his head lightly.

“What does he look like?”

“He’s good looking. Brown hair, brown eyes, and tall.”

“Is he fit?” Max asks.

Nicole rolls her eyes. “Of course he’sfit. He’s a damn stripper, Max,” she says before talking to her friends again.

I forgot she was even here for a second.

“Damn, okay Jaclyn.” Kayden smirks.

“What’s his name?” Martins asks.

“Ethan. He wrote it down for me.”

“Oh my god! He gave you a note? So romantic!” Max says, looking at Hayden before looking back at me again. “What did it say?”

I shake my head lightly. “I’m not going to talk to you guys about this.” I try not to smile, from how embarrassing this is.

A chair scrapes against the floor making everyone at the table startle. I look up and see Hayden walk out of the room and towards the entrance.

“Damn, he must really care about you?” Nicole chuckles as she smiles watching Hayden walk away.

I look at Natalia, Max, and Kayden. “Really?”

“Just needed a little push.” Natalia shrugs with a happy smile on her face.

“It’s just getting started,” Kayden mumbles before drinking water.
