Chapter 15

My body stirs. I’m wrapped in warm arms. A hot body crushed against me. My arm gripped around a firm, toned, but slender body. I nuzzle into the fabric of their jumper, fuck. He smells good, all masculine and spicy, but delicate at the same time.

There’s a flash in my brain, wait, who is this? Who am I with?

My eyes finally catch up with my brain and open. Jerking awake, I recognise his soft features, his glasses slanted across his face, a slight smile on those pink, parted lips, and his dimple faintly visible, and I chuckle. How the hell did we end up lying on the sofa, wrapped in each other’s arms?

“Hey, Nerd, your dick’s stabbing my leg.”

His eyes fly open, a shocked gasp slips from his lips as he pushes off my body, scrambling to right himself, but he just flops off the sofa, a whoosh of air expels from him as he hits the floor. I bark out a laugh, his eyes dart around before he jumps to his feet.

“I’m okay.” He rushes out, tugging his jumper to cover his dick and scurrying towards the bathroom.

I can’t help but laugh louder. I mean, we’ve all been there.

The look of pure horror on his face means I can’t not rib him about it.

I stretch out, letting the kinks pop along my joints, before I stand to crack my back.

When I look at my phone, we’ve been asleep for hours.

Shit. I must have needed it, but why was he asleep?

When he steps out of the bathroom, his face flushed but damp from the water he’s clearly splashed on it.

The front of his hair is wet and slightly curling.

“Hey, you feeling okay? It’s not like you to sleep during the day. I head over to him, placing my hand on his head. “You feel warm.”

“I’m fine, I just dozed off, that’s all.”

I pull him closer. “Hey, Nerd, you sure? Your face is flushed. Are you coming down with something?” He bats my hand away.

“I’m fine, Killian.” His cheeks flush.

“Okay, okay, I’m gonna order some food. Do you fancy pizza?”

He twists his hands at the bottom of his jumper, but his eyes don’t look at me.

“Hey. Don’t worry about the wood thing, okay, it happens to us all.”

His eyes widen. “Oh my God, Killian.” He grabs his things and heads to the door, mumbling incoherently. Okay, so he’s clearly embarrassed. The door slams shut. Maybe I’ll rib him about it later.

I head to the fridge, but there’s nothing good in it, so I pull out my phone and order pizza. I head over to the sofa, straightening it up and picking a sitcom to watch while I wait for my food.
