5. Dagon #2
Yeah, luck my ass. I fixed my gaze to the line on the floor and started walking, not answering the question and effortlessly walking in a straight line, but I stumbled on purpose at the end.
I wanted to drink more than half a glass.
We did this for the next 20 minutes. Some questions were funny, and others were borderline insane, like, Would you rather sleep with a pig or a duck, and why? Who comes up with these stuff?
Only the last twenty minutes remained, and we needed to divide into pairs. Wilder wrote our names on a scraps of paper. Bren pulled Luc’s name, and of course, with my luck, I pulled Di’s name.
We took a small break before continuing. We decided to eat a bit and drink some water to sober up a bit. I glanced at Di and he looked way more sober than half an hour ago. His gaze, though, was intense. It was like he was stripping me naked and enveloping my whole soul.
I walked over to him and pointed to the right corner of the room. “You wanna go over there and try to win this game?”
“Sure.”
When we reached the other side of the room, Di leaned against the wall and placed his hands in his jeans pockets. Wild and Andras were at the bar, and Bren and Luc were at the other end of the room, leaving us with enough space.
“What challenges haven’t you done?” I asked.
“I didn’t sit for 5 minutes like a dog, eating and drinking. I didn’t drink tomato juice with lemon and vodka.” He made a disgusted face at the thought alone, and I held back my chuckle. “And I didn’t write a poem to someone in red.”
I contemplated for a moment. He was firmly against doing all of them. I doubted I could convince him now. “I didn’t do the stupid book role-play, and I didn’t pretend to be a grandpa giving life advice.”
His eyes lit up like a bonfire - wait, I hadn't called the book stupid. I meant the challenge was. Interesting. It was the bare mention of the book role-play that set him off. I couldn’t stop myself from storing that away.
Riling him up was the coping mechanism I had developed. It was the only thing keeping my sanity in check all this time.
When he said nothing, I continued, “So, pick one of your challenges and do it.”
“Why don’t we start with you instead?” I could tell he was squaring up for a fight. “Why didn’t you do the dare with my book? What? Afraid of the scene? You have a thing against role-playing, huh? Why do I need to do everything?”
“Either you do some of these things, or we lose.”
Glaring at me, he ran his hand through his hair before saying, “No. Guess we’re losing this game.”
Just then, Bren started started screaming from across the room - the sound of someone who was very clearly winning. I saw the way Di looked over at our brothers, and fuck it, I wanted us to win.
“Fine.”
He nodded, obviously thinking I was agreeing to us losing. I caught his arm as he was about to walk away and pulled him back, then I wrapped the curtain between us so out brothers couldn’t see us. Backing him against the wall, I crowded his space. His eyes widened, and his breathing quickened.
“What are you doing?” His voice came out a bit unsteady, and my eyes fell on his lips for a split second.
“I said fine, didn’t I? And I don’t lose.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
“Yeah? Well, you wanted me to do what was written in the book.”
His beautiful green eyes widened, and I watched as understanding crossed his face. There was no way he didn’t remember the book he gave me and what happened in it.
I brought my hands up to his neck, feeling the vein there pulse against my fingers, proving to me that I wasn’t the only one affected.
I looked at his lips as he nervously licked them, making them glisten.
My body tightened so fast that my vision blurred.
Fuck, I wanted to kiss him. I wanted to kiss those lips that were engraved in my fantasies.
I wanted to kiss the small, barely noticeable mole under his lips.
I wanted to trace every inch of his body that I never allowed myself to look at too closely.
I wanted to devour every fucking part of him.
But I couldn’t, and this may be my only chance to have a small taste of him. If a tiny taste was all I could have, then I would take it.
Leaning in, I brought my lips to his temple and kissed him there. The moment my lips connected with his skin, my body shuddered. A sense of rightness washed over me, my legs barely holding me upright.
More, claim… a part of me screamed. Simultaneously, it tore me from within.
My grip on his neck tightened, and I fought with everything in me not to wrap my arms around his waist and bring him closer to me, to claim his lips and find out whether they tasted as divine as I imagined.
His left hand found my waist, fingers curling into my shirt. My lips trailed down to his neck but didn’t quite touch. His sharp breaths and the way his body felt against mine were pulling me under, clouding my mind. I couldn’t think straight.
“This is not what happened in the book.” I froze at the sound of his low voice. Fuck me from here to Hell and back.
I cleared my throat. “Yeah? And what happens exactly?”
In the next second, he bared his neck, and that was it. My restraint snapped. It flew out the window, along with my common sense, when I touched him. I was done holding back.
I couldn’t hold back, not anymore. There was a limit... and I'd finally reached it.
I lowered my lips to his neck, right below his ear. He pulled me into him, and I went, careful not to touch the lower parts of our bodies. If he felt how hard I was right now, he would fly out of here faster than a demon chased by Lucifer himself.
I pressed our chests together because he was the one who pulled me in, and I needed it.
