Chapter 6 Provocation

I smacked his hand away hard.

Then glared at him, frowning.

“Get lost. Don’t take advantage of me.”

Fu Ji Ye and I had known each other for years. Every time we met, we fought.

His mouth was especially vicious. Him suddenly saying something like that—he definitely wasn’t up to any good.

Since we were little, Fu Ji Ye had been the “other kid” my parents always compared me to.

“You see how good Fu Ji Ye’s grades are? How sensible he is? And look at you…”

My parents loved using him as an example.

“Then why don’t you compare yourselves to his parents? They actually love him.”

Unlike him, his parents were always kind to me. They treated me like half a son.

Whenever my parents weren’t home, they’d take me to the Fu house.

Even when we fought, they never blindly sided with Fu Ji Ye.

So for his parents’ sake, I reluctantly agreed to hang out with him.

Fu Ji Ye pursed his lips, looking a little unhappy. “I’m being serious.”

He still had half a year left studying in the States. He thought I’d keep playing around. He never expected me to actually fall for Gu Qu Nian.

It scared him enough to fly back immediately. If I really fell in love, it would be over.

I didn’t dare take his words seriously.

The second I said yes, he’d probably laugh and say, “Liao Xing, you lost again haha, it’s just a game.”

Those tricks? I invented half of them.

I blacked out after drinking all night.

When I woke up, my head didn’t hurt as much as I expected. My clothes had been changed into comfortable pajamas.

I stared blankly for a while before realizing—this was Fu Ji Ye’s room.

He actually brought me back to his apartment.

Didn’t just leave me passed out somewhere. That’s something, at least.

Fu Ji Ye pushed the door open and came in.

“You’re awake. Head still hurt? Drink some warm water first.”

I took the glass and downed it in one go.

Only then did it hit me.

“Fu Ji Ye, why am I at your place?”

I’d stayed over many times before, but ever since he went abroad, I hadn’t come here once.

And these pajamas—did he change them for me?

Was he that kind?

I scrambled up in panic and checked my body.

Phew. Everything was intact. All parts present.

Fu Ji Ye burst out laughing at my reaction.

He could tell exactly what I was thinking.

“Relax. I’m not that desperate.”

“Last night someone was drunk like a pig. Couldn’t wake you no matter how much I called. So I had to drag you back.”

I glared at him viciously. “Looking to die?”

He immediately raised both hands, face sincere. “My bad.”
