Chapter 5 Birthday Loser

“Hey, what’s our Young Master Liao doing drinking alone? Where’s the little boyfriend?”

The moment I entered the Private Room, I opened several bottles and started chugging.

My childhood friend Xiao Xuan came over, teasing.

“Today’s the Birthday boy. Someone actually dared to ruin Young Master Liao’s mood?”

I answered coldly, “We broke up.”

“Gu Qu Nian dumped me.”

The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. This was the most suffocating Birthday I’d ever had.

Even worse than when I turned eighteen.

How dare Gu Qu Nian treat me like this?

The others exchanged looks and laughed.

Xiao Xuan laughed the loudest. “You actually lost~”

“Who was it? Who had the guts to dump our Young Master Liao? That sports car you promised—I’m claiming it now.”

After the college entrance exam, we played a game. Gu Qu Nian—the Top Student—happened to walk by.

I got playful and made a bet using him.

“I bet I can hook him in a month. Wager—a sports car. Deal?”

Everyone placed bets on whether I could win Gu Qu Nian over.

Before I even did anything, he started chasing me. After that Birthday, I completely forgot about the bet.

Two years passed. We were still together.

When Xiao Xuan and the others realized I was actually serious, they tactfully never mentioned the bet again.

But now—I was the one who got dumped.

I lost the game.

Xiao Xuan hurried to comfort me. “Come on, it’s just one guy. If you split, you split. Someone like him isn’t right for you anyway. Acting all high and mighty.”

“It’s just a bet. Don’t take it to heart.”

Yeah. Just a bet. And I was the idiot who took it seriously.

Pathetic.

Fu Ji Ye, my old rival who just returned from abroad, sat in the shadows and gave a quiet laugh.

He walked over and snatched the glass from my hand.

Looking down at me, he said, “Liao Xing, this is boring. How about something more exciting?”

Seeing Fu Ji Ye made me even angrier.

We’d been at each other’s throats since we were kids. He must be thrilled right now.

“You came all this way just to watch me make a fool of myself?”

“If that’s it, get lost. I might not be able to hold back from hitting someone.”

Fu Ji Ye hooked my chin with his fingers, forcing me to look up at him.

The dim, ambiguous lights in the Private Room hit his face, making his already perfect features look even more seductive.

“How about being with me instead? I promise I’ll treat you way better than he ever did.”

“And you’ll never lose.”

“What do you say?”
