Bits of Book Eight.
Serenity looked up at Yuri, Kirill and Pride. “After your text just before we left New York City, I searched into the dark web. Your LaDonna Rinc was hard to find but I did find her.” Shaking her head she said, “And let me tell you guys she’s something else.”
“What something would that be?” Pride asked.
“Well, the rotten apple doesn’t fall far in her rotten family tree.
In some ways, her brothers were stupid but she is cunning.
She has been at this for a long time. Her goal might be to blackmail or threaten these people.
It’s smart. She may have been living off some of their money too for all these years.
Like she thinks beyond the day and into the future.
She waits and watches and then she plans. ”
“What does all that mean for our group though?” Yuri asked.
“I haven’t found any activity concerning the Bratva at all. You said that the SIM card was twenty years old, right?” she asked.
Yuri nodded. “Boo’s mom hid it in a toy when she was taking her to her father. She died before they reached Pride.”
“I think that was her beginning,” Serenity told them.
Kosta handed her a piece of paper. “I found this list of names and every name had its own file with a background of each man and their families.” He shrugged. “There really isn’t any information on what she was collecting or what she was going to use it for.”
Serenity nodded. “That makes sense, these men were the ones she was watching, digging up information she could use against them.” She looked at Sergi, “And that’s exactly what she’s been doing.
I can trace her research right down to months ago.
She may be careful but every time she does a search I’ve found her trail.
And these names?” She held up the list. “It looks like these are the very names she traced on the dark net.”
Sergi thought for a moment then asked, “Have you run down her banking yet?”
Serenity shook her head. “I can’t find her on any banking application. She’s not listed at any bank near here or around the city.”
“What about an LLC? Anything there?” Pride asked with a shrug. “I mean one of our bank accounts is an LLC for the club.”
Serenity began typing commands into her computer.
No one said a word as she continued her search.
They all waited.
Kosta never quit his search either.
Finally, Serenity looked up and asked, “What is her real name again?”
“LaDonna Rinc,” Pride told her.
“Then I might have found her. You were right Pride, she’s using an LLC to be exact. Just let me check something here.” Serenity typed commands. Then a few minutes later, she gasped and pushed her chair away from the desk. Looking up at Sergi, her gaze was astonished. She reached out and hit print.
A few seconds later the printer spit out three pages.
Sergi walked over and grabbed the pages off the printer tray. He studied them then looked up at his men. He swung his gaze over to Serenity and asked, “See how far back these payments go. We need to know how deep this sting really is.”
Serenity shook her head and explained, “I can’t stay in this window too long or the bank will know I got through their firewalls.”
“Try at least,” Sergi told her.
“What did she find, Sergi?” Yuri asked impatiently. “What payments?”
Sergi handed him the pages.
Yuri studied them, his eyes widening as he scrolled through them. He looked up at Sergi and whispered, “Svyatoye der'mo...Holy Shit. Is she serious?”
“What is it?” Pride asked.
“She’s been collecting payments from almost every faction in the city,” Yuri replied. “Lots of them. If this goes back years, no wonder there is unrest in New Orleans.”
The Enforcers at work...
“Boss, we have a problem,” Matvey spoke to Viktor into his mic as he and Andrey carried the person they captured to a van.
“I see that,” Vicktor replied on his mic as he looked troubled.
“Wait a fucking minute!” Pride exclaimed. “Is she...?” His voice fell away to utter shock.
They couldn’t believe what they all saw. The woman LaDonna Rinc who had fooled the Bratva and blackmailed all the crime organizations in New Orleans while making millions...was bound to a wheelchair.
A few hours later..
Yuri quirked an eyebrow and commented, “She’s got steel balls though. Even you have to admit she’s a sneaky little bitch and to go after every faction? That’s insane. Then to put the blame on the Bratva and keep it quiet for ten years? That’s quite the plan.”
Sergi snorted. “Da, it takes a greedy nature. But we used her own plan to find her and now she’s caught.
She’ll pay the price for her own greed.” He curled his fingers into fists.
“She thought she was untouchable. The Bratva will teach her a harsh lesson and she will pay for her lies and manipulation.”
Serenity snorted. “She’ll sit in a cell and watch the Bratva lay claim to everything she thought she had.
All her money will go back to those that paid her for her silence all those years.
She doesn’t know it yet but her accounts are almost drained, so if she thinks she’s got billions waiting for her to walk away, then she is delusional. ”
Sergi looked over at her. “You are returning all the money?”
Serenity nodded. “Yeah, but like I told the factions at the meeting, I can’t get it all back, only what she’s got left.
You all saw the place she lived in right?
That cost a pretty penny, plus her security and weapons cost a healthy chunk of money too.
But I am keeping records for everyone involved and they will be available for anyone who asks. ”
Sergi nodded. “Da, that is smart. As Bratva, we have no secrets and with this situation, we must be as transparent as we can be without giving out any secrets we hold dear.”
Serenity went on to explain the details, “I have the percentages worked out and each faction will get back some of what they paid to her. Like maybe half?” She shrugged. “It won’t be all of what they paid but at least they will get something back.”
Sergi nodded. “And the fact that she will be sitting right there in front of the very men she swindled will make that so much better. They will look her in the eye and spit in her face and she will know there won’t be a place she can hide anymore.
There won’t even be a place for her to lay her head because the very people she cheated and wronged will know her face and some of them have very long memories.
” He shrugged. “You can’t feel sorry for her, not about this.
She made her bed and now she will lay in it. ”
More Discoveries...
“LaDonna had three warehouses on the property and they were full of a whole lot of shit that her customers could use to start a small war. Some of the boxes had Russian and Mexican markings.” Viktor held up his phone and showed Sergi some photos of the warehouse contents.
Sergi saw the markings for himself. Then he swore in Russian, “Kakaya zhe u etoy zhenshchiny zhadnost'!” The greed of this fucking woman. Sergi locked eyes with Viktor and growled, “Do you see what I see?” He gritted through his teeth.
“Da,” Viktor agreed. “I see it.”
Nicky looked from one man to the other to ask, “What are the two of you seeing?”
“She got her hands on explosives,” Sergi explained.
“I believe these are the ones that were reported missing from secret Russian facilities, which are Bratva owned. No one should have been able to get their hands on those explosives, especially not someone outside the Bratva. That alone tells me we have a traitor and she’s got an accomplice inside the Bratva.
She could use them against anyone in the world and if they are traced back, the Bratva would be subject to accusations if they are identified as being used against our enemies.
All the while we would not know anything about it.
The whole world would call us liars and murderers. ”
Viktor nodded. “Da, but we took everything we could find, paperwork included. It shouldn’t take us long to find out who this traitor is.”
“Go through every little scrap of paper you can find and give us a name,” Sergi said.
“We need to uncover the traitor and then we need to link him to her. We need to lock them down. With proof they can’t deny.
Make an example of this connection and put them both on trial.
This cannot happen again. They tried to make fools of us and now they will both pay that price. ”
An hour later...
Viktor came back into the security room and handed Sergi a batch of papers while shaking his head. “You aren’t going to like what we found.’
“Da, I didn’t think I would but tell me a name.” Sergi growled.
“Dominic Russo,” Viktor whispered.
Sergi froze then crumbled the papers in his hand as he swore in Russian, “Blin. Etot sukin syn.” Well fuck...that sonofabitch. After a long moment, he asked, “How far back does this unholy union go?”
“At least three years,” Viktor told him. “We found evidence that went back that long. And we have someone watching the hotel. The Ghosts radioed in as there are at least half a dozen men outside these walls and they are circling the building. They seem to be looking for someone.”
Sergi snorted, “I’ll just bet they are.” He glanced at Yuri and Roman while shaking his head.
Then he looked back at Viktor. “Have your men round them up and bring them in.. Try not to start a shootout in the streets, unless they start it. But I’m sure your men can finish any fight they start.
At this point, we just don’t want any civilians involved. ”
Viktor nodded. “We’ll get them.” He left the security room.
Yuri joined Sergi and asked, “You know this Dominic Russo?”
