Chapter 18 Adam #2
He followed Skylar into the bathroom, where he got the water running hot before putting the drain plug in to fill the tub.
“Are you going to see your parents while you’re up here?”
“I think so. I might as well.”
“Do you get along?”
“Yeah, sure. We had a bit of a rocky period when I was young and newly out, but I think Heath dying changed their perspective on the remaining kid they had.”
“And they made it right?”
Adam shrugged. “We’re cordial. I’ll never be best friends with them, but I still hear from them a couple of times a month.”
“That’s shitty.”
“It is what it is. Are your parents cool?”
“Yeah, super supportive. Worried about what my life would look like in hockey, stuff like that, but never upset about who I was. Just how I might be treated.” Skylar continued to strip, and Adam took the hint and pulled his sweater over his head.
“How were you treated?”
“About as well as you could imagine. Hockey culture is…slow to change. My coach in college was great, though. And then getting drafted to the Northern Lights and playing in their system has been great. No one wants to make the captain mad.”
Skylar’s shirt was unbuttoned, his bare chest on display.
“I’m glad you got drafted to Minnesota too,” Adam said, stepping in closer to Skylar.
He got a flash of Skylar’s bright smile before they were kissing, pulling at each other’s clothes.
It wasn’t graceful, but every time Adam thought they were going to have to stop kissing to get anything productive done, Skylar would prove him wrong.
The bathroom was filled with the roar of the faucet and thick with steam. Skylar pulled Adam inside and shut the door to keep the warmth in. Adam dipped a toe in.
“Fuck, that’s hot,” he said, adjusting the temperature. It looked like there was still room to fill, but they were two adult men. There would be some water displacement.
“Do we want a bath bomb?” Skylar asked, looking at the little dish of them next to the bath. Adam had never stayed in a hotel so fancy it provided little bath goodies like that.
“I’ve never used a bath bomb.”
“So that’s a yes,” Skylar decided, picking a purple one out and unwrapping it before tossing it into the water. It fizzed and smelled nice. Relaxing.
Fog crept across the edges of the mirror. Skylar took a brave step into the hot water, then shuffled toward the faucet where colder water was pouring in. He mixed it around with a foot until he decided it was acceptable, then sat down, back against the wall of the tub, his legs spreading for Adam.
“Come on in,” he said, offering a hand for Adam to grab.
“I’ve never taken a bath with someone else before,” Adam said.
The residual chill of the bathroom versus the warmth of the water was enough to distract him from being too anxious.
Skylar helped get them situated, guiding Adam’s back to his chest, his warm body enveloping him.
Skylar’s strong thighs were on each side of him, his chest sturdy and comforting behind him.
“How are you feeling?” Skylar asked, wet fingertips running up and down Adam’s arms, making him tingle all over.
“Good,” Adam said. He wanted to stretch the moment out until forever. “Great.”
“Me too,” Skylar whispered. He pressed a kiss high on Adam’s cheekbone as Adam relaxed further into his embrace. Skylar’s hands never stopped moving, gently touching every inch of Adam’s body that he could reach, like Adam was a bubble he might pop.
Adam rested his head on Skylar’s shoulder, and Skylar dropped an occasional kiss to his cheek or his neck.
“Your skin is so beautiful,” Skylar marveled.
“That’s what you get from very minimal UV exposure,” Adam deflected.
“Let me admire you,” Skylar whispered. Adam didn’t have a comeback for that. He was bad at receiving compliments and bad at having attention on him. But he and Skylar were all alone, and Skylar was in charge. He could do whatever he wanted.
The bathroom was quiet except for the sounds of Skylar’s hands moving through the water. It was warm enough in the room now that Adam could feel sweat forming on his forehead. He let one last tense breath out before finally relaxing fully to be putty in Skylar’s hands.
Skylar had him sit up a bit for a shoulder rub before pulling Adam back to his chest. And without even noticing it, he’d started to get hard.
The surface of the water was covered in a light, glittery fizz from the bath bomb, keeping them from seeing through it, so it was a surprise as Skylar ran his hands back down Adam’s chest and stomach to find his erection.
“Mmm,” Skylar hummed softly in Adam’s ear as he wrapped his fingers around his dick. “Is this okay?”
“Yeah,” Adam breathed.
Skylar’s hand was loose and light on him until he was fully hard.
The water moved around them as Skylar worked his hand over Adam, his pressure increasing slightly.
Even though the intimacy of the previous night was powerful, with the bruising kisses and eye contact, Adam still felt so close to Skylar like this.
Skylar’s free hand found Adam’s nipples, and he gasped out a surprised moan as the air cooled each nipple as Skylar’s warm, wet fingers moved back and forth between them. He felt Skylar’s teeth nipping at his jaw, hot breath on his skin.
Adam anchored his hands on Skylar’s thighs as Skylar confidently jerked him, tighter and tighter, faster and faster.
“Sky, more—” Adam panted. He could feel his orgasm building, and Skylar tightened his grip even more, speeding up his motion. He gave Adam exactly what he wanted. More.
He came with a shudder, body convulsing as Skylar held him close with one arm and milked his orgasm with his other hand. He pressed kisses to the side of Adam’s face as Adam came down, still shaking in his arms. Skylar let go of his dick so he could wrap both arms around Adam.
“Holy shit, baby,” Skylar said, awe in his voice. He’d probably seen a dozen or more men come in his presence, but his voice sounded like he’d seen something special and rare. “Please tell me that felt good.”
“I think my soul left my body for a second there,” Adam joked. “Thank you.”
“Thank you,” Skylar said, sounding like he meant it. How he could be thankful for giving Adam a handjob boggled his mind still.
Skylar’s erection pressed against Adam’s lower back, but he wasn’t making any moves to get Adam to pay attention to it.
“Is it your turn?” Adam asked. They’d have to rearrange somehow before they could do anything about it.
“Not yet. I want to be here with you. I’m not ready to let go.”
“You are…so much sweeter than I would have guessed after the first couple of times you came into the bar.”
“I don’t think I’m usually particularly sweet in bed. Or in bath, in this case. Usually more of a ‘come and go’ kinda guy.”
“What made you want to come and…stay?”
Skylar laughed, the sound echoing around them. He had a beautiful, rich laugh Adam wanted to bottle and wear in a locket around his neck. He wanted to tuck Skylar directly into his heart.
“I stayed to admire you. And bask in your glow. I know a lot of great people, don’t get me wrong, but I got to watch the way you care for everyone around you. And I guess I wanted to make sure someone was caring about you.”
Adam’s eyes prickled with the beginning of tears. He tucked his face in Skylar’s neck for a moment before finagling a kiss. Their bath was getting cold, and now that he thought about it, they were sitting in come water. Glittery come water.
“Let’s rinse off,” Adam proposed, extricating himself, with difficulty, from the tub and Skylar’s warm embrace.
He helped Skylar up, and Skylar drained the tub while Adam started the shower.
This twenty-five-year-old slightly spoiled hockey player carefully wiped the shimmer ring from inside the tub so housekeeping wouldn’t have to.
Adam didn’t think many guys in the NHL would do that.
Plus, it meant great views of his ass.
The shower went much more quickly. They rinsed the bath bomb residue off, and Adam jerked Skylar off after Skylar pressed him against the tile to make out.
“God, I’m tired,” Skylar said, dragging his body toward the bed after Adam dried him off. Adam was still working on drying off his hair and beard. He did a lap around their suite to turn lights off and cranked the AC up so they wouldn’t get too hot cuddling, then slid into bed with Skylar, naked.
“You’re mine,” Skylar said, resting his head on Adam’s chest. He liked the sound of that.
“Sky, you wouldn’t believe how much you mean to me.” The feeling was heavy and terrifying in his chest. Now that he had this, he’d never be able to let go.
“You’re the only person in my life who calls me Sky.”
“Is that bad?”
“No, I like it. My teammates call me Burns or Burnsie. I get Skylar from reporters and anyone who knows my government name.”
“Not even your parents?”
“My parents call me by a childhood nickname that never died.”
“What?”
“It’s embarrassing.”
“I only want to know it more, now.”
“Bug.”
“Like, you’re a cute little bug? On a leaf?”
“More like ‘stop bugging me.’ At some point I was so annoying that it stuck.”
“That’s mean.”
Skylar shrugged. His eyes were closed, arms tightening around Adam’s chest. “It is what it is.”
“You’re never annoying me.”
“I’m always annoying you.”
“Sure. But it’s not like annoying.” Adam hoped that made sense. He wanted Skylar to bother him for…well, maybe forever.
Skylar kissed his pec. “Thank you,” he said in a tiny, vulnerable voice. Adam hugged him tight. He never wanted to make Skylar feel small.
“Thank you for the perfect night, Sky.”
