Chapter 19
Crue
My eyes opened the next day to see that it was only Kadeem and me in the bed.
Rolling over, I grabbed my watch off the nightstand and saw it was almost noon.
I was just about to get out of bed when Saniyah walked out of the bathroom, fully dressed in the outfit she wore the day before.
She still looked just as beautiful as she did when she walked into the party.
“Where you going?” I asked, sitting up in bed.
“Nazuri’s on her way to bring me my car. I have to take her back home, then I’m going to go back to my apartment and get a few things. I won’t be gone for too long, maybe a couple of hours at most.”
“Don’t be too long. I got a lil Sunday funday planned for us.”
Saniyah smiled as she walked over to the bed.
She kissed me softly, letting me know she would be back soon.
She then walked around the bed, leaning over to kiss a sleeping Kadeem.
Sliding out of bed, I put on my pants, deciding to walk Saniyah to the door.
I kissed her once more and watched as she made her way to the car.
Nazuri waved at me as she walked around to the passenger’s side and got in.
I didn’t close the door until Saniyah was in the car and pulling down the driveway.
At first, I was going to go back to sleep but then quickly decided against it.
Going back into the bedroom, I woke Kadeem up, letting him know I was going to get some clothes.
“Can you go to my penthouse and pick me up a few things? My keys on the kitchen counter,” Kadeem uttered sleepily.
“Yeah, I got you. Saniyah went to go get some clothes too, so we will probably be back around the same time. I got some shit planned for us today too. So, get you some sleep because it’s up when we get back.”
After redressing from the night before, I grabbed Kadeem’s keys then headed out the door.
I decided to go to his house first. I packed Kadeem a weeks’ worth of things, figuring that he could come get anything else that he might need.
Once I made it to my house, I walked inside and went into the kitchen to prepare a pre-workout smoothie.
I sipped it while I packed myself a suitcase full of clothes.
Afterwards, I changed into a pair of hoop shorts and went into my home gym.
I worked out for a full hour before going into my en-suite bathroom and taking a long hot shower.
After I dressed, I took my suitcase out to my car and made my way back to the house.
I pulled my car into the garage and grabbed both suitcases before taking them into the house.
The smell of food hit me the moment I walked inside.
I smiled, knowing my baby was cooking up something delicious.
Leaving the suitcases at the side door, I walked into the kitchen.
However, it wasn’t Saniyah that was cooking. It was Kadeem.
“Damn, you got it smelling good as fuck in here. What you cookin’?”
“I’m making seafood lasagna. I didn’t know what you had planned for us today, so I thought that I could at least cook us dinner,” he replied.
“Oh, I’m with that. You make the best seafood lasagna anyway. Is Saniyah back yet?”
“Nah, not yet.”
I nodded my head, letting him know that I was going to unpack our things.
After taking the suitcases up and hanging everything in our closets, I went into the living room and turned on the TV.
What Saniyah didn’t know was that the furniture we did have here was all rented for the party.
Today, we would be picking out all of the furniture together, along with a few other surprises.
I just couldn’t wait for my baby to get back, so we could begin our day.
Another hour passed, and at first, it didn’t dawn on me.
However, when Kadeem walked into the living room, asking if I’d spoke to Saniyah, I called her phone.
When she didn’t answer, I shot her a quick text, asking her what time she would be home.
Thirty minutes had passed, and she still hadn’t replied or called back. Kadeem decided to call her again. However, she didn’t answer his call either.
“This shit don’t seem right. Why she not answering? She’s been gone for hours,” Kadeem spoke, looking down at his phone in confusion.
“Yeah, she said it would only take her a couple hours. Check her location,” I suggested.
Kadeem nodded, letting me know that it said she was at her apartment. I stood up, confused, knowing that something was off. Grabbing my keys, I told Kadeem that I was going over there and began walking toward the door.
“Hold up, let me grab my shoes. I’m coming with you,” he informed.
About five minute later, we were in my car on our way to Saniyah’s apartment.
My heart beat faster the closer we got, nervous about what we would see when we arrived.
I was skeptical the moment we pulled up because there wasn’t a single person outside.
In the neighborhood she lived in, there were always dozens of people outside on a nice day like today.
However, the hood was quiet, too quiet. I saw that Saniyah’s car was parked out front, and an eerie feeling came over me.
We got out the car, and the moment we walked to her door and saw it was slightly ajar, we both knew something happened to her.
Kadeem busted in, screaming Saniyah’s name, as he walked through the apartment.
I walked in, scanning the living room. Her suitcase was by the door with her purse on top of it, letting me know that she was on her way back to us when something happened.
Her phone was under a table by the front door, like it had been dropped, and I knew then that someone had came in and got her.
I rushed to her phone and saw it had a passcode on it.
“Fuck,” I uttered.
“She not here,” Kadeem voiced as he walked back into the living room. He walked up to me slowly, looking at me as he shook his head. “Is that her phone?”
“Yeah. I found it on the floor under that table.” I pointed. “I was going to try to get Nazuri’s number from it, but it has a passcode.”
“Maybe it’s her birthday?”
I put the numbers in, but they were wrong.
Then, I tried her birth year, which was also wrong.
We only had one more try, and the phone would be locked, and we wouldn’t be able to get into it at all.
Then, Kadeem suggested to try our birthdays.
I put in 0721, the days in the months Kadeem and I were born.
I nodded my head when the phone unlocked.
I quickly went to her contacts and found Nazuri’s name and called her.
She told me that Saniyah dropped her back off around twelve thirty and told her that she was grabbing a few things before going back to the house.
“Oh, my God, what can I do? Do you want me to call the police?” she asked.
“Absolutely not. We will handle this. I know you care about Saniyah, Nazuri, but understand that we do too. It’s more power behind the two of us than any police station combined. We’ll let you know when we find her.”
Nazuri was frantic and asking way too many questions that I just didn’t have time to answer. I told her once more not to call the police before ending the call. Pulling my phone from my pocket, I shot a text to Dez. He called me back not even five minutes later.
“What you got for me, bro?” I asked the moment I accepted the call.
“Well, that live camera feed of her apartment was still up, and thank God it was because it captured the entire thing. I just sent a clip to your email.”
I placed the phone on speaker before pulling up the email.
Kadeem was right next to me, looking down at my phone, as we watched a black Tesla pull up right outside of Saniyah’s apartment.
Two people dressed in black hoodies got out and walked up to her door, and the moment she opened it, they grabbed her.
When I saw one of them punch her in the face, knocking her out instantly, my hand tightened around my phone.
I watched as they carried her to the car and put her inside the trunk.
“I’ma kill them muthafuckas,” Kadeem roared, clenching his fists tightly.
“I was able to follow the car using traffic cameras. I haven’t been able to pull up an exact location yet, but they on the east side, somewhere on Warren,” Dez continued.
“We on our way. Once you get a location, let us know. Until then, I don’t give a fuck if we gotta kick every fuckin’ door in on the street. We gon’ find her,” I spoke before ending the call.
