Chapter 19
NICK
It’s already midday when Lois finally climbs off my lap — no matter how much I protest — and gets in the shower ready to leave.
I asked her to stay here all day with me, rotting in bed together but she refused.
She said Ellen is opening the gym especially for her this afternoon so she can nail down her routines before her competition on Friday.
Steam fills the room when she reappears in the bathroom doorway.
Skin tight jeans hug her perfect ass and her t-shirt gives me an excellent view of her pert nipples as they poke through the sheer material.
I’m dying to suck them between my lips, but the stressed out look in her hazel eyes tells me now isn’t the time to try.
She's gathering clothes from the ground and stuffing them into the much too small bag that’s already crammed with books and her laptop.
We studied together all morning…well, not all morning.
We also rolled around naked for a few hours, coming more times than I can keep count of.
“Hey,”
I reach out for her arm, stopping her maniacal packing.
“Baby relax for a minute, I’ll pack these for you, just sit down.”
She does as she’s told with a heavy sigh, dropping down onto the edge of my mattress and raking a hand through her wispy curls.
“I can’t cope with this anxiety anymore, I need a release from it.”
Her leg bobs with worry as she speaks, “These routines are killing me slowly and I'm ready to just end it all at this point. This competition can’t come quick enough. At least when I fail I can come home and eat my weight in ice cream, then curl up under my duvet for seven to ten business days.”
I laugh under my breath and squat down in front of her, taking her hands in mine.
“You’re going to do great mini Taylor, you’re an amazing gymnast. Anyway, it doesn’t matter if you don’t win because you’ll come home to me and I’ll make you feel fucking amazing.”
She looks through her eyelashes at me, unamused expression plastered on her beautiful, freckled face.
“You’re hilarious. But if I fail I won’t want to feel amazing, I deserve to feel shit because that’s what I am.”
“Don’t say that, ever.”
I grip her face in my hands, jaw tight with annoyance, not at her but at the way she views herself. I don’t like it one bit.
Her face softens and she looks down at the ground again.
“I’m sorry, I know I'm too much sometimes and I need to learn when to stop complaining about things.”
“Stop saying that to me, you’re not too much Lo and you need to get that out of your head.
You’re the perfect amount, always have been, always will be.
There’s no such thing as too much for me.
Call me twelve times a day, text me about how your day’s going every ten minutes, leave me messages when you can’t sleep and make sure when we’re in the same room that you’re touching me at all times.”
She smiles, then smudges a tear across her cheek.
“You always know the right thing to say don’t you?”
“Just call me the perfect boyfriend.”
I grin cheesily and she kisses me hard, fingers gripping my chin before she collapses into me on my bedroom floor.
I hold her against my chest, our hearts beating in unison as she lays flat against my body, my whole world breathing softly in my arms.
When she’s ready to leave I kiss her goodbye for the hundredth time, taking a handful of each ass cheek in my hands as my tongue explores her mouth for as long as she’ll let me.
She drops one last kiss to my lips, one I want to last forever.
But instead she pulls away after only a second, leaving my bedroom with a smile spread wide across her face.
Her footsteps echo down the hallway towards the stairs, until they stop abruptly and I can’t help but press my ear to my bedroom door to see which one of my annoying as fuck roommates have caught her now.
But to my horror, it’s Sean's voice I hear questioning her.
“Lo?”
His voice is gruff, puzzled like he’s half asleep even though it’s the middle of the day.
“What are you doing here?”
“I was erm…”
she stutters and without being able to see her I know she’s picking at her fingers nervously.
“I was looking for Callie!”
She exclaims, breathing a sigh of relief.
“Yeah, Callie, I was looking for Callie, is she here?”
Sean pauses and the suspicion is so thick I could cut it with a spoon.
“No…she’s taken Lily over to your dorm to see Molly.”
“Oh, okay, cool, I’ll just go home and see her then.”
Lois says cheerily, clearly relieved that she’s able to run away from this painfully awkward conversation. But Sean stops her again before she can escape down the stairs.
“Hold on, surely you just came from the dorm, so you’d know she was there.”
His tone is dripping in curiosity and I can imagine his face right now. Eyebrows tied tightly together and hazel eyes assessing my girl, as she squirms uncomfortably under his suspicious stare.
“No,”
Lois answers quickly, “I was at the library all morning before I came here.”
Sean exhales sharply and I hear the smile and relief in his voice.
“Oh, okay, see you later then munch.”
Lois grumbles something derogatory under her breath as Sean’s heavy footsteps make their way down the hallway to his bedroom.
Lois follows suit a moment later, the sound of her feet moving down the stairs and out of the front door.
It feels like a lifetime has passed when Friday finally rolls around.
All day I'm waiting for her call.
To decide whether I need to head over to her dorm with condolence gifts of ice cream and her favourite lavender scented bath bomb.
Or instead to head over there with a bunch of congratulatory flowers and the intention of fucking her into the night.
Luckily for me, my phone rings loudly in my pocket at exactly 5:05pm, five minutes after I know her competition should have ended.
I pull off my helmet and gloves frantically, trying not to miss the call.
“Hey baby,”
I whisper, glancing over one shoulder at Sean and Kyle who play fight on the other side of the rink, throwing soft punches at each other.
“How did it go?”
I hear the relief filled smile in her breathing before she even speaks.
“I got gold Nick! Fucking gold! Can you believe it?”
She shrieks so loud I have to pull the phone away from my ear.
My eyes sparkle with delight at her joy, my mouth twisting into a prideful smile.
“I’m so proud of you Lo, so fucking proud. Let’s go out tonight, to a club or something to celebrate.”
“We’re going to a club?”
A voice right behind me makes my phone slip through my fingers like a bar of wet soap. I juggle it, trying not to let it crash down onto the ice and shatter into a million pieces.
“Shit Taylor, don’t sneak up on people like that!”
I raise my voice enough, purposefully making sure Lois can hear who I'm talking to. She does, because she hangs up immediately and I pocket my phone as smoothly as possible to avoid suspicion.
“Yeah, I thought maybe we could celebrate tonight. Molly said that your sister and her team did really well at their competition and they’re thinking of going out tonight, we should join them.”
I say casually, leaning against the plexiglass.
Sean’s expression holds no suspicion when he responds with a shrug.
“Yeah, sure, sounds like a good idea to me. I’ll ask Callie to try and find a sitter for Lily, I'm sure coach will be more than happy to have her.”
He leans closer to me, cupping a hand to his mouth in a whisper.
“He’d never admit this out loud, but he loves being a Grandad to her, he’s such a softie.”
The two of us grin like naughty schoolboys with a secret about the headmaster before Sean heads off back across the rink, yelling over his shoulder, “I’ll call you in an hour once I’ve spoken to Cal!”
I flick him a thumbs up and head off the rink myself towards the locker rooms.
My skin is already itching with anticipation about tonight, the crawling of nerves ruining my excitement when I realise I'm going to be in a club with Lois and her brother.
I won’t be able to touch her, kiss her, hold her hand, dance with her.
There’s no way I'm going the whole night without at least one sneaky kiss from her.
The moment I get into my bedroom, freshly showered, hair still damp from the icy air outside, Sean taps on my door. His dimpled grin appears around the wood as he peers inside at me.
“Coach is looking after Lily tonight so we’re on for 8pm if that’s good with you?”
I nod once, dropping my bag to the floor.
“Yeah, fine by me.”
“Molly and Ky are coming, Lewis too I think.”
He says, starting to pull the door closed, but I stop him.
“Who else is coming?”
I say, too wobbly for my liking, as if I'm tempting him to suspect something is going on.
I'd never normally ask who is coming, I’d never normally give a shit.
But I haven’t been able to get hold of Lois since the interrupted phone call at the rink and I'm worried she’s going to chicken out of coming tonight because of Sean.
He ponders for a beat.
“Erm, I think Anais is coming, maybe Sophia…and my sister of course.”
His face lights up with a flash of pride.
“She got gold today you know, she smashed it out the park.”
“Did she? Good for her,”
my voice is gruff, laced with annoyance that I have to pretend to be unbothered by my girl’s achievements.
“You alright?”
Sean says, looking at me through squinted, confused eyes.
I nod once.
“Yeah, all good, I’ll be ready at 8pm.”
I close my bedroom door, leaving Sean in the hallway probably bewildered as to why I'm acting so weird, but I can’t help it.
The sloshing in my stomach can’t be ignored when I have to act like that in front of him, pretending like I don't give a shit about Lois.
I can’t do it forever, so I fucking hope she’s ready to tell him soon and deal with the consequences.
This is all going to blow up in our faces at some point, may as well not prolong the torture.
The club is pumping with a heavy beat when we arrive.
Sean, Kyle, Lewis and I clamber out of the taxi and pile into the building.
The bouncer with a face like a slapped arse grunts something unintelligible as we pass him, but he doesn’t stop us from entering.
The girls are already here, the four of them squished into a leather seated booth, laughs on their voices as we approach.
They look like a gaggle of teenagers who have had one too many lollipops after school and are now on a sugar high.
They spot us approaching and Molly leans into Lois’ ear, whispering something that makes her blush pink.
“Hello ladies, well done today you two,”
Sean gestures towards Lois and Anais.
“What are you girls drinking? I’ll go to the bar.”
Lois spares one fleeting glance at me and of course my eyes are fixed on her anyway, which makes her cheeks flush an even darker shade of fuchsia.
Then she looks back to Sean.
“We’ve all been drinking mojitos,”
Molly snorts next to her.
“Yeah and some of us,”
she flicks an eye roll at Callie, “have already had too many of those.”
“Hey!”
Callie’s elbow sinks into Molly’s side in one swift jab, “I'm a mum now, I don’t get much chance to get shit faced anymore and I dare anyone to try and stop me enjoying myself tonight.”
Molly lifts both hands in surrender and Lois suffocates a laugh behind her hand.
Sean makes his way to the bar without another word and Kyle, Lewis and I cram into the already full booth beside the girls.
I want to sit next to Lois, to run my thumb along her bare thigh under the table, to feel her smooth skin without anyone noticing.
But instead I end up smushed between Kyle and Lewis.
To my absolute relief it doesn’t take long for the girls to get up and dance, dragging Sean, Kyle and Lewis with them.
I stay put in the booth, purposefully sipping my pint of beer as slowly as I can and keeping my eyes pinned on Lois the entire time.
Her slim frame is covered with a satin black dress that lands just below her upper thighs.
Her body moves with the music, swishing and swaying, her light curls brushing against her bare back as she dances.
She glances at me occasionally, and of course my eyes are locked on her at all times.
There’s a heavy sexual tension between us, one that’s unfamiliar to me.
We’ve not really been in this situation before.
All of our friends are in the same room as us and all we both want to do is touch each other, kiss each other… fuck , what I wouldn’t do to be able to kiss her right now.
I tip the rest of my drink down my throat and get up to head to the bathroom.
As I pass the dance floor Molly tries to drag me into the crowd, I shake her manicured talons off my arm and slither away from the packed dance floor.
As I reach the hallway that takes me away from the beating music and sweaty air, I check over my shoulder.
Lois has emerged from the group and is standing at the edge of the swaying sea of drunken university students.
Her gaze is loaded with need as she watches me, her chest moving up and down fast as her heartbeat pumps from the dancing.
I look over my shoulder towards the hallway that leads to the bathrooms, checking the coast is clear.
Then I tilt my head in gesture to her, begging her to follow me down this secluded hallway, away from the wandering eyes of our friends.
She bobs her head in a hurried nod, looking over her own shoulder towards Sean, who is currently grinding up against his soon to be wife.
I disappear down the hallway towards the already open door of the shared bathroom, pulling it closed and locking it behind me whilst I wait.
It’s merely seconds before I hear the click clack of her tiny kitten heels pacing down the silent hallway, the sound echoing and sending a shock of anticipation straight to my already aching cock.
I push open the squeaky door just a crack to check that’s it’s her and when I spot her wispy dark curls I grab her elbow and drag her inside.
“Fucking hell!”
She gasps, hands to her chest.
“You almost gave me a heart att—”
the words die on her lips when I haul her into me and swallow the words with a kiss.
I’m hungry, fucking starving for her and I intend to waste no time in here that’s not spent tasting some part of her body.
I grip her waist and drop her ass onto the countertop, falling to my knees and plunging my face between her thighs.
Her head falls back the second I so much as breathe on her throbbing clit.
Her fingernails try to sink into the marble but to no avail.
Caramel eyes roll back in her head, fluttering closed when I suck the bud between my lips, making her bare thighs shake.
I grip them tightly with both hands and her fingers lace through my hair, pressing me further into her hot, wet heaven.
She tastes so fucking sweet and my tongue takes laps up her sopping mess, revelling in the way her body responds to me.
“Nick,”
she whispers roughly, “I'm gonna come. Don’t stop, please.”
“Come on my tongue then like a good girl.”
I coo and she bites her lip hard.
I smile against her, sucking softly, teasingly on her pink clit as it begs for more.
But it seems that’s all she really needed to fall over the edge of the cliff.
Her ankles come around my head, forcing me deeper as she curses my name under her breath, body shaking with jolts of pleasure.
When she relaxes and her eyes flicker open again she smiles softly, content with post orgasmic glow.
She hops down from the counter and I scoop her into my chest, nuzzling my face into her warm neck and inhaling her heavenly smell.
Her arms come around my neck and I just hold her to me, both of us swimming in comfortable silence together.
That is until our hearts both shoot out of our arses when a fast tapping on the bathroom door breaks the silence.
“Shit, shit, who is that?”
Lois whispers, panicked and clinging to me like a monkey. She quickly scuttles behind my tall frame, like the person on the other side of the door can see through the wood.
I snicker a little, but hide it before she rips my balls off for finding this funny. To be clear my heart is racing just as much as her's right now, we’re trapped in here and if Sean is on the other side of the door we’re as fucked as fucked can be.
“I don’t know Lo, I’ll have to open the door to find that out.”
I whisper, peeling her clinging hands off my t-shirt and stepping quietly towards the door.
Another knock.
I waft a hand in Lois’ direction, telling her to backup from view incase it is her brother on the other side of the door.
I click the lock and open it slowly, keeping my face in the gap so Lois can’t be seen.
Before I can even figure out who the bare legged, high heeled person is that interrupted our private orgasm session, she’s barrelling into the bathroom and closing the door behind her.
“You horny fuckers couldn’t even last one night in a club without sneaking off to fuck in the bathroom?”
Molly cackles and Lois’ wide eyed stare crumples into relief.
She swats a hand at Molly who is still in a fit of laughter.
“You dick! I thought you were Sean and that I’d have to stay imprisoned in this bathroom for the rest of the night so he didn’t catch us leaving together.”
“Nah, you’re both safe.”
Molly glances at me with a wink, “He did ask where you’d gone Nicky, but I saved your asses and told him I’d seen you go out for a smoke.”
My eyebrows crease with confusion.
“I don’t smoke Mol.”
She pops a shrug.
“Yeah I know, but Taylor’s already too drunk to remember that.”
“Ok, ok, so he doesn’t suspect anything?”
Lois says, one hand on her chest, her heart rate still recovering.
Molly smiles sweetly.
“Not a thing, but you guys really should come back now because it’s starting to seem suss. And I know Sean is too fucking twisted to notice anything, but Callie certainly isn’t and she’ll sniff you guys out faster than you can run.”
“Thanks Mol,”
I pat her shoulder once and she grins at me, skulking out of the bathroom and gesturing to us that we’re free to leave without detection.
