Chapter 11 The Sleazy Neighbor
I spat once more.
Just as I was about to close the door, the apartment across the hall opened.
A fat, big-eared middle-aged man waddled out.
The second he saw me, his eyes gleamed green.
“Hey, Jiang Si, wanna come over and hang out?”
My neighbor and boss, Chen Fu.
The company had arranged this place for me, and Chen Fu, being my superior, kept trying to pull strings for “benefits.”
Everything that came out of his mouth sounded like cheap drama lines.
The last time he’d called me into his office.
He’d leaned back in his chair, cigarette dangling, flashing yellow teeth.
“Jiang Si, you don’t want to fail your full-time evaluation, do you?”
Then he reached for my hand, eyes narrowed with lust.
“Follow me, and I guarantee you’ll go full-time.”
His greasy vibe almost made me throw up last night’s dinner.
I couldn’t stay calm.
I dodged his touch, grabbed the photo frame off the desk, and smashed it toward his head.
“I’d rather work the early shift!”
Want to harass me? Dream on.
I’d cuddle a mop handle in the middle of the night before giving him anything.
I submitted my resignation that same day.
Thinking about it now made the disgust rise again.
And yet here he was, still daring to bother me.
Chen Fu’s slimy gaze raked over me, yellow teeth baring in a grin.
“Finally came around? My offer still stands. I’ll make sure you go full-time.”
Where did he get that confidence?
I felt nauseous.
Suddenly a large hand landed on my shoulder.
“Trying to harass my girlfriend right in front of me? Looking to get hit?”
