Chapter 17 The Sudden Embrace

After figuring it out, I immediately sent Sheng Yi a message.

Me: No need to prepare my dinner tonight.

Creditor: ???

Then came the flood.

Creditor: Food not to your taste?

Creditor: Bad mood today?

Creditor: I’m coming to get you right now!

Creditor: Let’s go out for something good tonight.

Okay, this wasn’t going the way I expected.

Was he that scared I’d run?

I hurried to smooth things over.

Me: I’m really fine. I’m already home.

Half an hour later, the door opened.

He walked in carrying four dishes and a soup.

My cooking wasn’t as good as Sheng Yi’s.

But every foodie is at least a decent home cook.

It was a little worse than his, but still edible.

I washed my hands and was about to call him to sit down.

Instead, he walked toward me breathing fast, eyes full of tension and excitement.

“You’ve thought it through?”

“Yes.”

Yes, I had decided—I was going to be a hardworking—

Hey, hey, what are you doing!

Sheng Yi pulled me hard into his arms. His hot breath passed through my hair and landed on my ear.

That familiar tingling rushed back instantly.

My legs went weak. I almost collapsed against him.

I just wanted to pay back the money faster. Did he have to react like this?

But—hiss—those damn lean muscles, that hard abs.

Firm, springy, strong.

I was still savoring the feeling when dense kisses followed.

“I’ve waited for you so long…”

Wait a little longer.

What exactly was he waiting for?

I was waiting for you to come home for dinner—why did you start kissing me?

I pushed against his chest, breathing hard.

“Sheng Yi, don’t be impulsive.”

“Sorry, I don’t have much experience.”

Sheng Yi gave a shy smile.

His hands lifted me onto the table.

Strong biceps gave solid support. Slightly calloused fingertips brushed every inch of my neck.

“I told you—I’d wait. And now, I’m done waiting.”

What do you mean you’re done?

My gaze slid downward.

I shrank back.

I think I understood…

Hot, lingering kisses kept coming.

“Actually, I didn’t just look at my parents’ old chats. I also checked my friends’. They all treat their girlfriends pretty much the same.”

My head was full of question marks.

I couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“Your buddies’ pots got smashed too?”

“Huh?”

We stared at each other, completely confused.

“You… you agreed to get back together with me, right?”

“I said I’d pay back the debt!”

We’d been perfectly in sync for months—on completely different frequencies.
