"I'm scared, Zarya." she admitted, her voice cracking.
I held her face gently. "What are you scared of, love?"
"Because this happened so many times before," she said, tumutulo na rin ulit ang luha niya. "Every time... either we woke up okay... or we woke up running away from each other again. Please...'wag ka na ulit mawala, Zarya. I don't think I can endure it this time. Hindi ko na kakayanin 'to."
"I promise, hindi na. I would never do that. That will never happen again, okay? Not this time." I kissed her tears away, kissed her cheeks, kissed her lips to make her feel how serious I was.

She looked right back at me, firm and steady.
"Naging miserable ang buhay ko because of him.What made you think I would side with him? Even if he didn't leave... I would still be on your side. Because what he did is unforgivable, at pipiliin ko parin na piliin yung tama. You made me a good lawyer, you know?"
I closed my eyes for a second, letting those words sink in, healing the deepest part of me I thought would never mend. "Sana matapos na 'to. So we can finally be free. So we can be happy."
She squeezed my hand. "It will happen. Tiwala ka lang, okay?"
"Let's take a rest na." she said softly, pulling the blanket up over us. "Tomorrow is another day. Bukas na natin isipin ang mga ganitong bagay."
I nodded, shifting so I was curled around her, spooning her tight. "Yes. Good night, my love."
As I closed my eyes, listening to her heartbeat slow down, I smiled to myself.
Who would have thought? Months I spent here, broken, alone, thinking I'd never feel peace again... and now here I am...finally peaceful. Hindi dahil sa lugar na 'to, hindi rin dahil sa mga gamot dito, but because of her.
After everything we've been through, all the running, all the secrets, all the pain... we still ended up right here, in each other's arms.
Alam kong marami pa kaming dapat isipin, but for now... we are safe. And soon, very soon... all of this will come to an end.
We will be free. And I swear to myself, no matter what comes, no matter who tries... I will never, ever let anyone separate us again.
