I watched the detective who laid down in my bed after the medicine hit. I had taken care of the wound which the stitches had torn. He had refused to take off his shirt completely only allowing me to treat with only his stomach exposed.
He hadn't said much about what happened to him and who battered him so badly. The door to the room opened and in appeared Ramon. "It has been done," he said.
I turned to give one last look to detective rabbit before I walked out of the room.
Reaching the door I turned to my most trusted man.
"Stay back and watch after him. Many here may actually take revenge on him because of their dislike towards the fed.
Once he wakes up get him something to eat and drive him home," I ordered Stinger. "Yes sir."
Eugene and Sammy walked behind me to the store room where the man who was in charge of the attack was. He was bound to a chair with arms behind him and a gag in his mouth. He was a middle aged thirty something year old man who showed no concern over the situation.
"Did he speak," I questioned. "Nothing boss!
" One of the men answered. I pulled a chair facing the guy who lifted his head to glare at me.
His hatred evident in his eyes. It has been a long time ever since I had gotten my hands dirty but the man before me forced me to roll my sleeves and punch him square on the jaw.
I punched him again and again with no mercy thinking of the crimes he had committed to innocent children and women.
He was a murderer, a rapist and a pedophile.
"You aren't going to confess and tell me who sent you I might as well take this time to relive the stressful day I have had on you.
You like bullying the weak don't you. My men here are going to teach you a lesson one after the another," I threatened.
The man didn't seem fazed by my threat and I stood up taking a few steps away from him. Over the years what I knew about criminals it is often the crimes they committed is what they feared to be committed against them.
"Blindfold him," I ordered. "I have over thirty men here. Each stronger than the other. Picture them taking turns with you without your consent where you couldn't see who is coming on you or what they are going to do. Feel free to decide to give me a name or have fun."
The man started to struggle on the chair when one of my men moved to strip him off his clothes to make the threat feel viable.
He put his hand on his chest when the latter started trembling in fear.
His posture seeming uncomfortable. Even behind the blindfold I could tell he was weighing the options heavily.
"The prime minister. He sent us to ambush the truck that was to deliver the guns knowing it would trigger and upset the governor who would retaliate on you for not fulfilling the end of the burgain," he confessed hastily.
At the mention of the prime minister's name my mind spiralled into a frenzy.
Why was the man suddenly interested in my endeveaours.
To go ahead and boycott the shipment to get me in the governor's bad books.
It must have had something to do with the investigation going on about his missing daughter.
"Why?"
The gag which had been previously discarded as they blindfolded him lay on his neck like an invitation to hang him to cleanse him of his unredeemable sins. "The prime minister believes you are working together with the FBI to dig some dirt on him that is why he struck first," he answered.
His explanation didn't add up to anything unless the prime minister had something to do with his own daughter's abduction and didn't want anyone finding the truth. He must have sent someone to spy on me or how would he know my involvement with detective rabbit and his friend.
I took the gun that laid leisurely on Sammy's waist cocking it and aiming for the guys head where blood spattered everywhere. Some blood landed on my face while some on my shirt. "Clean this up," I said exiting the room irritated.
Above the stairs no one knew detective Kayde had woken up after the medicine wore off having followed Scorpion down his layer where he conducted business on his foes.
The detective had witnessed all that had occured within the corners of the room Scorpion had ruthlessly killed a man with no mercy.
It is not like he had not heard the discussion between the man who claimed the prime minister had sent him to surbotage Scorpion's delivery operation but a sense of justice for taking a person's life with no remorse engulfed him.
The detective slowly hid himself from sight when he had footsteps approaching his direction. "What will we do with the body boss?" Someone asked. "Send it as a warning to the prime minister. After all business is business. No one interferes with mine," he warned.
The detective made his way out of the building in the SUV that was to drive him home and noticed that Scorpion's man was still not back. Sitting at the back he checked to ensure he had gotten the evidence of the man commiting the crime.
The intruder who pretended to be one of Scorpion's men saw the detective sneaking back into the vehicle he had deliberately left him in for him to explore and set up the mafia boss.
"Are you ready to go detective," said the intruder. The detective giving a silent nod and the engine was started.
"Weren't you supposed to drive detective Williams back home?" I asked. Ramon stood in my presence watching me change from the bloody shirt. " I assigned someone else to do it. I figured you would need my help here," he said.
I nodded my head getting out of the clothes soiled by that criminal's blood. "He said the prime minister was behind it. It seems like the prime minister is on to me. I believe he might have a mole in here," I mentioned.
