Chapter 34

"Get me another drink," I ordered.

I took another shot of what must have been whiskey or gin which I lost count after five bottles.

"You can't keep doing this Ivan. He isn't worth it!" Ramon reasoned.

"Will you just shut up and leave me alone. Who says this is about him. I don't care who he marries it is none of my fucking business. He is just a stupid spoiled detective who thinks he knows what I want," I countered.

"If it's not about him, what has gotten you so upset right now?" He demanded.

"Just go away. I don't want to argue with you. Don't let anyone in my office, please."I pleaded.

Ramon walked out leaving me at the floor with yet another bottle losing count of the shots I had taken. The burning effect of the alcohol was doing nothing to come my racing thoughts or me witnessing him getting married.

He was such a fool. Couldn't he see it. He even dared to mention that I wasn't in love with Vance. If he could see it then why did he go ahead and marry that woman.

I should have known. Men like him are opportunists. Playing with people's feeling then fitting into boxes society implements on them. The man couldn't even face his father and tell him he was not straight how could he accept he was in love with another man.

The door to my office opened and I did not bother checking who it was.

"I told you to go away Ramon. I don't want to see you," I shouted.

"Don't you want to see me too?" Vance answered in his velvety voice. I did not make any effort to look at him or give my attention. He walked by the alcohol cabinet and took a bottle for himself. I could hear him moving around the office then finally settling next to me.

"I'm not in the mood to entertain any visitors?" I said.

"So I've heard. It's a good thing I'm not a visitor," he mused.

I stared at him hard his curly hair doing wonders to my intoxicated state. Vance was a beautiful man and he knew it. He sat with me in silence letting me drink him in as he bathed in it.

"Are you going to tell me what's got you looking this miserable?" He questioned.

No I was not. I didn't want to talk or think about the detective all he was doing was making things very difficult for me. He had just gotten married but the man still had the audacity to get jealous.

"Are you well rested now," I diverted the topic completely ignoring his earlier question.

"Yes. Though I had a meeting with one of my men before coming here and he informed me of the guy creating counterfeits weapons and selling them to the market without serial numbers. I think it has something to do with the prime minister. The trail leads to one of his men," he replied.

Vance and I had officially started working together to get his father off my back and I liked him because he was ruthless in business. Like father like son. He knew where lines between business began and ended.

"Thanks for the heads up I'll have Ramon get one of my men to get to the bottom of it,"I answered.

With small business talk complete we sat there in silence completely aware of each other's presence. I was grateful for the fact that he didn't push me to speak just gave me the company I didn't think I needed.

"Ivan. I was serious about us being more than just business. I'd like to know you. In more ways than one," he turned to me and whispered.

His gaze met mine. Steady and confident. He continued assessing me for an answer without backing down.

"I'm incapable of returning your feelings," I said.

"I never asked you to fall for me. I simply asked for more than business not a relationship maybe a friend's with benefit kind of thing," he suggested.

"I see but you do realize we are not even friends," I countered.

A mischievous smile played on his lips. He put his bottle down and pounced on me.

I lay down on the mat, the liquor bottle still in my hand letting him lead me.

His cologne wafted through my nose his presence making all my senses alive.

Not in the way Kayde made me feel. Fuck.

I'm still thinking about detective rabbit I had to get him out of my system.

He took the bottle in my hand placing it somewhere.

"Do you want this?" He asked.

I laughed a bit at his gentleness.

"Is that a gentleman I hear," I teased.

"I prefer having things willingly given," he said his hand making it's way to the belt on my waist.

"If that's the case, then I want you to devour me and make me forget about everything,"I replied diving in for a kiss. His tongue shot to my mouth the minute our lips connected with desperate attempts for dominance. His grip on me tightened and I did the same with him.

His hand traced circles underneath my shirt. Battling fiercely to open each other's buttons. When he made an attempt to kissing me on my neck. I flipped him switching positions catching him by surprise.

His eyes were wide with excitement as he realized he was no longer in control. His mouth tasted like the alcohol we had been drinking and a bit of mint.

His hands fought to undo my belt as it shot inside to get a hold of me. Once he did there was nothing virgin about it. He grabbed me aggressively and I relished it. I wasn't in the mood for sweet nothings when it was just sex.

I also put my hand in his pants unzipping them fast. Our breaths mingled roughly as I worked my way to jerk him off. He did the same to me with strong strokes. His hips pumped into my arms when the door opened and I turned to find detective Williams standing at the door frozen.
