12. Chapter 11

Thunder

I grunt as I pick up my bag, my shoulder pulling at the movement, but I ignore it as I put the bag on the bed then grab my shit ready to leave this place. More like ready to try and fucking convince my family to head home so I can win my girl.

Since my surgery yesterday, Scottie has been off with me, and I don’t mean she’s pissed I forced her to do my surgery kind of off either.

She’s not keeping eye contact, she’ll pop in and out of my room within five minutes, especially if my sister is in here.

She got a fucking nurse to bring me my discharge papers twenty minutes ago despite starting her shift five hours ago, only coming in here once because Dr. Thomas told her she was still assigned as my fucking doctor when I demanded to see her.

She told the nurse to explain she was seeing other patients.

She’s dodging me.

“You know you shouldn’t be packing your own bag, right?” Doc says from near the window, and I grunt a nonverbal reply, my anger fucking doubling.

“Are you in pain?” Trigger asks with concern, and I throw my shirt in the bag with force, then instantly regret it as I grab my shoulder with a frustrated groan.

Fuck that hurt.

“Fuck’s sake, Thunder!” Doc snaps, and I breathe deeply as he spins me his way, then gently grabs my arm and slowly lifts it up and down, gauging my reaction, and I wince, causing his jaw to tick.

“Talk to us,” Anchor demands firmly, and I breathe, “She got a nurse to bring my discharge papers,” and Doc sighs as he slowly lowers my arm and takes a step back.

“Ah, this is about Dr. Aimes,” Trigger mentions and I grit my back teeth and grunt, “Yes,” as I slowly zip up my bag, more aware of my shoulder before saying, “Since I’ve woken up, she’s barely spent five minutes inside this room.

She won’t look at me and kept things medically related and I don’t understand why,” I look at Doc and ask, “How was she during the surgery?”

“Amazing,” he admits as he crosses his arms over his chest, “She was absolutely fucking amazing, very thorough, and I can’t wait to have her on my team. She was also emotional afterwards, thought maybe she messed up or cut wrong even though she knew deep down she didn’t.”

“She wants him and doesn’t want to realize it,” Trigger mutters, and Doc nods.

We’ve seen plenty of old ladies that have refused to accept the spark they felt when meeting the brother that decided to claim them. We’ve also seen old ladies refusing to continue the spark when a brother has fucked up, like Trigger, who is extremely lucky Ashley is still with him.

“Her feelings are scaring her because you haven’t even had a date let alone more than one conversation,” Doc confesses, “She also mentioned that she was never this scared of her feelings when she went out with that fucker. If anything, she was hurt because of what her sister did. When she left the OR, she seemed in good spirits so I must admit, even I’m confused by her professionalism with you right now.

Unless she’s decided to run from her emotions which wouldn’t surprise me with any of the other women we’ve seen run.

Scottie though, she’s strong so I don’t understand her reaction. ”

I frown, but my mouth soon parts when Anchor says, “Your sister followed her out of the waiting room yesterday, and when she returned, she wouldn’t look anyone in the eye.”

“You think she said something?” I ask as Doc slowly lowers his arms with disappointment.

“If I know my wife, which I do very well, she’s most definitely said something because since she got her memories back, she mentioned that she feels privileged to get her own way,” Doc sighs as he grabs his phone and I lock my jaw.

Surely my sister wouldn’t fucking say shit to Scottie to ensure I come home? Not when she knows exactly what it feels like to have someone come between her and Doc.

Ringing echoes in the room and I go to cross my arms over my chest as I stare at Doc’s phone but wince at the tug and slowly drop them to my side instead and Anchor mutters, “This is payback for all the times you ended up in the ER to get Tank to come back to the club,” and I give him the middle finger making him snort just as we hear, “Hey Asher, is Bradley being discharged?”

“What did you say to Scottie yesterday?” Doc demands instead of answering her question, and my sister clears her throat.

“What did she tell you?” she asks, dodging his demand, and I take a step forward with anger.

Doc gives me a stern look that I scowl at before he demands, “Answer the fucking question, Brittany,” and fuck, even I wince as Trigger mutters, “Shit, he’s pissed.”

He never calls her Brittany, and I mean fucking never. Brit, sometimes, yeah, but never Brittany unless she has really pissed him off. She’s always been his Tinkerbell since they first met, and she admitted to an animal called Tinkerbell vomiting on her.

“I told her not to be selfish and force my brother to stay here,” she whispers, and I turn around, hoping I don’t destroy this room like I want to, my body vibrating with how much rage that flows through me.

“She did the right thing, so don’t you dare have a go at my daughter, Doc!” I hear Kathleen say in the background, and I know Brittany has put the phone on speaker, and I scoff.

For years, Kathleen didn’t pay attention to me, and now she suddenly wants me home?

Talk about double standards.

“Brittany, pack your bags because we’re heading home tonight, Kathleen, you too,” Doc demands and Brit gasps, “But Asher–”

He cuts her off, “No, you’ve told a woman who is confused over her feelings that she shouldn’t be selfish because you want your brother to return home.

That makes you the selfish one, not caring about her or Thunder, only about yourself.

Especially when you’ve been in her shoes, having me tell you that I was going to marry someone else for the club only for you to lose your memories then feel something for me but not understand them and not once did someone tell you not to be selfish,” he sighs, “You were out of line and now, you need to pack up because all of us are heading home while Thunder heals.”

“I am not leaving my son!” Kathleen snaps, and Doc states, “Then I suggest you pay for a motel because you are not staying at the Untamed clubhouse. You will also have your privileges banned, meaning no access to a place where Thunder will be staying. Going against me has just gotten you an automatic ban from club properties for the month.”

“Kathleen, go pack!” I hear Dad snap with anger, “You too, Brittany, now.”

“Uh Doc, I want to stay until Thunder returns,” Trigger says, and I smile slightly as we lock eyes and I remind him, “Brother, you’ve got kids to get home to, kids we both know Ashley is missing, and I can’t ride for a month or so, I’ll stay in contact.”

“Why can’t you just come home? Why not have a prospect drive?” Kathleen snaps, but I don’t answer her as Trigger eyes me for a moment and I raise a brow, and he sighs, “Fine, but if you don’t answer one call or text, then I’ll be returning.”

He gives me a glare, and I smirk his way.

“I’m sorry, Bradley,” Brit chokes, and I look down, again not saying anything.

I can understand her needing me, but what about what I need?

I’ve been there for her, I’ve been there for the club, but when does what I need and want come first?

“Shadow, make sure everyone gets packed, we’ll be back at the clubhouse soon,” Doc states before hanging up, then looks at me and asks, “What do you want to do?”

“We won’t stand in your way,” Anchor adds. “You need to stay for a while then we’ll stand behind you just like you’ve stood behind us.”

I look at the door for a moment as I chew the inside of my cheek before I look at Doc and say, “All of you head to the clubhouse, make sure the women are packing. I need my sister gone for me to follow through with my plans and call Scottie to my room, claim it’s an emergency.

It’s time her and I have a talk, and I’ll get Dr. Thomas to bring me back to the Untamed clubhouse. ”

The men nod, and Trigger gives me the warning glare again and reminds me, “Contact every day, or else!”

I nod, biting back a smirk, and I reply, “Will do,” just as Anchor gives me the same glare, then leaves.

“Just remember,” Doc says as Trigger walks out, gaining my attention, “you ensured the officer brothers never gave up on the club, so don’t you.”

“I’m not giving up on my club, Asher,” I say softly, “The club is my life, I’m just trying to make my life better, and to do that, I need to convince Scottie to be mine and to come home with me.”

“She won’t leave without Sammie,” he reminds me, and I hum in acknowledgement because I already know this.

“Which is why I’m looking into kidnapping,” I say, and Doc chuckles, knowing I’m not joking, though Marshall has said he’ll help Scottie get custody of Sammie.

Her sister is never with him, always pushing him on others, mainly my girl.

“Okay, I’ll go get Scottie, then head back to the Untamed and get your sister out of town so you can win your girl. Just uh, fuck, don’t do anything stupid,” Doc says, and I confirm, “Other than kidnap?”

“Other than kidnap,” he confirms, and I grin as he shakes his head then walks out, leaving me alone for the first time since I woke up yesterday.

I look around the room and sigh as frustration begins to build yet again.

“Fucking Brittany,” I mutter as I zip up my bag before the door to my room opens and I turn, expecting it to be my girl so I can finally confront her about avoiding me.

Only for it to be Dr. Fuckface who walks into my room like he owns the place.

His hair slicked back, wearing a fucking suit of all things beneath his white doctor’s coat.

“You lost?” I ask, and the fucker scowls at me, trying to intimidate me, which is laughable.

“No, I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, we need to talk,” he says firmly, and I smirk.

“And what exactly do we need to speak about?” I ask as a plan comes to mind, one that will show Scottie what she’s feeling is real.
