Chapter 7 Cornelius
Cornelius
Nobody could have prepared me for finding my One and how my outlook on everything would immediately change. My entire life now completely revolved around Matthew and making sure he was safe, happy, and cared for.
Since we were only given one perfect match and Matthew was mine, I didn’t quite know what to expect when it came to what was known as the fertile period.
I’d never experienced one. I’d been correct when I estimated that Matthew’s would hit by morning.
It did. I woke up with my little fae on top of me, grinding down against me as quickly as he could.
Something inside of me snapped, and I quickly flipped us and thrust into my One in one smooth stroke and came.
Not necessarily my finest performance, but I made up for it during the next round. And the dozens after.
Four days. Matthew was fertile for four days.
We left the bed long enough to visit the bathroom and take care of needs there, but that was it.
I conjured food and drink and began to hope for more than an hour’s sleep at a time.
I finally discovered what Matthew meant when he said fae had incredibly high sex drives.
But when I woke up next to my deeply sleeping One and realized that we’d been asleep for most of the night, I sighed in relief before I quietly snuck from the bed and went to the bathroom to clean up. A long hot shower sounded wonderful, and I couldn’t wait to get under the steaming spray.
While the shower was heating up, I took care of other business, and after a quick check-in of Matthew, I climbed into the shower and moaned. I was already in love with my One, as it should be, but damn, four days was a long time to have a sex marathon. Especially when your partner was insatiable.
I hissed when the water hit my sensitive dick and stepped forward, effectively moving it out of the spray.
How did shifters do it? How did other warlocks?
I’d had more sex in the past four days than I had had in the past couple of years.
I kept telling myself that the first was always more intense.
But how much more? And how often would Matthew have fertile periods?
Wanting to take care of my One and knowing I needed to make a few phone calls in order to do so, I quickly but efficiently washed before rinsing.
The soap on my cock stung worse than just water, but I expected that and suffered through it until I could figure out what to do to soothe the sensitive flesh.
After all, it was my dick, and I wasn’t willing to just magic it without first consulting someone with a bit more knowledge regarding the issue.
Once rinsed, I got out and dried off. I stopped at the sink long enough to shave, brush my teeth, and run a towel over my short hair again.
I was fully dressed in a pair of slacks and button-down when I walked through the bathroom door and into the bedroom.
As a warlock, I didn’t have the heightened sense of smell like shifters did, but even I could smell the heavy scent of sex in the air of the bedroom.
It was January in Montana, so I couldn’t just open the windows and air the room out.
I cracked the windows and gently pushed the air around the room.
When the scent of the room became crisp and smelled of freshly fallen snow, I closed the windows and checked on my still-sleeping One.
He was adorable when awake, but asleep, he made my heart flutter. His curly hair was going in every direction, and he had lines on his cheek from the pillow. Knowing if I didn’t leave, I’d be too tempted to cuddle up with him, so I left the bedroom, leaving the door open behind me.
A quick glance in Balthazar’s room told me that it was completely empty and my roommate of the past several months was probably back in Amherst with the rest of the coven.
Leaving the second floor, my first stop was the coffee pot.
Yes, I could conjure a fresh cup of the wonderful brew, but we’d all been taught to be able to do everyday things because most humans didn’t know about paranormals.
Not only that, but someone able to do magic tended to be persecuted, feared, hunted, and killed because of their abilities.
While the coffee was brewing, I picked up my phone and saw I had several texts and missed calls.
The texts were all fellow warlocks from the coven congratulating me on finding my One.
I’d reply to them later. The calls were mostly the same, but when I saw one from Master Arthur, I called him back immediately.
He knew I’d be otherwise occupied for several days, so the fact he was calling let me know that it was possibly something important.
“Cornelius, it’s good to hear from you. I hope everything is going well with your claiming,” Master Arthur said by way of greeting.
I couldn’t help but smile. Things had gone extremely well.
Perhaps a bit too well, I thought as I felt a twinge in my pants as I moved and my sensitive appendage rubbed against the fabric of my briefs.
“Very well, sir. I was actually going to call you in just a bit as I had a rather embarrassing question to ask and hope you had a solution.”
I immediately heard laughter through the line. Not only Master Arthur’s, but his One, Patrick’s as well. “Told you he’d be calling. You should have let him know before he claimed his One,” Patrick’s voice said through the line.
“I’m almost positive we know what you are needing.
A simple healing spell with aloe specifically in mind will do the trick.
Umm, and next time Matthew has a fertile period, if you use lube as well as his slick, it will, umm, offer a bit more protection and you can avoid the issue altogether, if you wish. ”
“Oh thank the fates. I’m not complaining, but things are quite sensitive, and I wasn’t sure what to do since it’s in such a…”
“Sensitive area? Trust me, I understand. But yes, a simple healing spell will do the trick. I called, hoping to catch you before things got to this point, but I missed. I do apologize.”
“There is no need for an apology, Master Arthur. I do appreciate the help.” I pulled a mug down from the cupboard and poured a steaming cup of coffee, adding a bit of cream to it.
“I’m here for every one of you, at any time. Please don’t feel you can’t ever come to me with questions or concerns.”
“Thank you, sir.”
“You’re welcome. Now, Patrick is dying to meet Matthew. Will you be returning with him soon?”
That was the question. Wasn’t it? “I’d like to, yes.
He’s already said he had no desire to return to his realm—not that I even know how to get there.
But because he’s spent his entire life in the fae realm, he did mention a desire to travel.
I’d like permission to make a few stops along the way, sir.
We will be discreet and won’t endanger the coven or others. ”
“Yes, of course. I’ve never been to the fae realm, but I would imagine coming to this one for the first time as an adult would be quite a change.
Please take as long as you’d like to explore certain places.
I know the Grand Canyon is beautiful year-round, but it’s recently gotten some snow.
Perhaps your One would enjoy stopping there? ”
“Thank you for the suggestion. I’ll add it to a list of places to take Matthew.”
“Good. I can’t wait to meet your One. How is he doing?”
At the mention of my One, I checked in with him again quickly.
“He’s doing well. He’s still sleeping, and I have no intention of waking him.
Neither of us got much sleep over the last several days.
” I contemplated continuing, but in the end, decided to stop there.
Yes, Arthur had been an incredibly fair master thus far, but I wasn’t what one would call part of the inner group.
I did work with Patrick regularly, but that didn’t mean we discussed personal things.
“Sleep is good after a fertile period. And have you detected any difference?”
I knew exactly what Arthur was asking and smiled.
“Not as of yet, no. But it wasn’t until late yesterday evening that he finally fell asleep and stayed that way for more than an hour.
I figured it wouldn’t be until next week at the earliest. We didn’t take precautions, so we will have to wait and see and hope that he caught. ”
And I did. I wanted children. I didn’t care if they were warlock or fae, I’d love them either way.
“We will keep our fingers crossed for you, then. Patrick is telling me I have a meeting in a few minutes. Be sure to call us if you have any questions or need anything.”
“I will do that. Thanks again, Master Arthur.”
When I ended the call, I placed the phone down on the counter and immediately said the healing spell with aloe as the specific healing agent and sighed in relief.
The coolness I felt instantly brought a small smile to my face.
Too much friction wasn’t always a good thing, it seemed.
I picked up my coffee mug and took another long sip, enjoying the brew after not having any for a few days.
Not knowing how long Matthew would sleep and my growling stomach being the final deciding factor, I conjured myself a full breakfast and ate it while standing at the counter, replying to the text messages I’d received.
Knowing I needed to talk to Master Edison at some point, but wanting to wait and do it with Matthew at my side, I decided against messaging him to see when he would be available to see us just yet.
A reply from Balthazar had me picking up my phone and smiling.
B: Chief Kelley already has our replacements in place. Let me know when you’re coming back. I’d like to say hi to your One again when things aren’t so…hectic. You finding him has been the talk of the coven and has everyone’s hopes up. Mine too. I’d love to have someone I could dote on.
