Chapter 7 Cornelius #2

Me: It’ll probably be next week sometime. Matthew wants to travel a bit and I can’t deny him.

B: As it should be as long as he’s safe. Have fun in your travels. I’ll see you when you get home.

Home. It had been months since I’d been there, and even a week ago, I was more than ready to get back. But now…now I was more than willing to put it off a little longer. All because of Matthew.

I checked in on him once again and realized he wasn’t quite so deeply in sleep anymore.

Perhaps he was waking or it might just be that he was cycling in between deep and light sleep.

Either way, after I finished my breakfast, I headed upstairs to be with my One.

There was a need to be with him I couldn’t understand, and I wasn’t going to deny myself when all I had to do was walk upstairs and into the bedroom.

When I walked through the door, Matthew had rolled over but nothing more.

He was once again sleeping deeply. Not wanting to disturb him, and deciding to be useful, I made myself comfortable in the corner chair with my tablet and set about shopping for Matthew.

He had very little clothing, and I was more than capable of taking care of my One, and I set about doing so.

Of the clothing choices he had, he seemed to be fond of jeans and sweaters, so I got his sizes and ordered several more of each. I didn’t see more than the one pair of shoes, so I ordered him both hiking boots as well as a few more pairs of tennis shoes.

Several hours later, after I’d exchanged my tablet for my laptop and shopping sites for spreadsheets, Matthew started rousing from sleep.

Not only could I feel him through our bond, but I was sitting across the room from him and saw him become restless on the bed.

I felt the moment he woke, and when he reached for the other side of the bed, I got up from my chair and crossed the room toward him.

“Good afternoon, sweetheart. Are you feeling rested?”

“Cornelius?” Matthew bolted upright, but the worry on his face dissipated when he saw me advancing toward him. “There you are. Wait, you’re dressed. Afternoon? What time is it?”

“Just after two. I’ve been up for several hours and didn’t want to disturb you, so I was working in the chair in the corner,” I said as I indicated the plush chair I’d just vacated.

“Why didn’t you wake me? I don’t need to sleep all day,” Matthew said as he flung the blanket back and stopped. “Where are my clothes? Didn’t…oh. Umm, how many days?”

I carefully sat on the edge of the bed and pulled my little fae onto my lap.

“Your clothes are in the dresser. I washed them at some point. I can’t exactly remember when though.

As for how many days, four. It shouldn’t be that intense next time though.

How are you feeling? Would you like a long, hot soak in the tub?

Are you sore? Tender?” Now that I had him in my arms again, I couldn’t seem to stop asking questions regarding how he was doing.

“A bath would be amazing. Maybe some sort of healing salts in it?”

I nodded in understanding and stood up with Matthew in my arms. By the time we crossed over the threshold to the bathroom, the tub was filled with steaming water, and not only had I put some healing salts in it, but some aloe as well.

I set Matthew down in the middle of the room so he could take care of business before climbing into the tub.

“If you’re really tender, I might be able to help. I did a healing spell on myself, and it provided instant relief. It’s up to you though.”

“Oh, I know of one. I’ll cast it before I get in the tub.

My entire body feels like it’s been hit by a horse though, and I thought the water might help soothe it.

” Matthew finished at the toilet and immediately went to the sink and brushed his teeth.

He smiled up at me when he was finished before he glided over to the tub and climbed in.

The groan he let out as he sunk down in the water had my dick plumping in my slacks.

I ignored it in favor of sitting on the edge of the tub, staring down at my One.

“Do you need or want anything? Coffee? Tea? Juice? Something substantial to eat?”

“You know, just the fact that I can actually take a bath and not have to worry about being interrupted by the other six people in the house is a treat. I can’t imagine having a drink or a meal in the tub.”

I raised an eyebrow at that, and after I conjured a bath tray, a plate of various fruits appeared on it. “Tea? Juice? Something heavier?”

“Oh wow. You spoil me,” Matthew said as he reached for a strawberry and popped it in his mouth. “Tea is perfect. But I have magic too,” he said as the tea appeared next.

“You do. And as long as we are within our own home, or one of the pack members’, we can use it. Did you want some time alone? Or would you like me to sit in here and talk to you?”

“I’d love to sit and talk, but if you have things to do, I understand. I’ve already taken four days of your time.”

“Sweetheart, you could take all of my days and it would be okay. You are the most important person in my life, and nothing is more important than you.” I carefully sat on the bath mat beside the tub and talked to him.
