Nathaniel #2
I backed away from him, and he didn’t even attempt to see who I was.
It took no time for me to maneuver through the passages of the arena before hitting the elevator up to the top level.
This part differed from where I’d just come from.
The dark hallways were barely illuminated but up here everything was bright, glossy and on display.
Art decorated the walls as well as jerseys of former players and pictures of the team’s Hall of Famers.
I strolled back into the suite whistling with my shiesty tucked in my back pocket.
My shirt was long enough to conceal it but I wouldn’t have given a fuck if someone noticed it.
That bitch of an ex of Charisma’s wasn’t about to say shit.
Hell, I’d been given the green light to carry my gun into the arena so even if he did he wouldn’t know who to ask for.
I’d grabbed my hat from the bench that I’d sat on before I went to scare that nigga before I’d walked in the door.
I smiled at the folks mingling around before I went to stand with my family.
“You good?”
Sampson wasn’t even worried but I was sure he wondered if I got my business handled the way I needed to. His ass was probably making sure that I didn’t get too out of hand.
“Everything is straight. I’m ready to get back to the house now. That nigga that popped his ass up here complicated my damn night.”
This outing was supposed to be a surprise for her parents but they’d felt bad about Trent not having a ticket to the game and so the four of them had made dinner plans instead. They were at Chisholm-Love and of course I had the staff treat them right but keep an eye on that nigga.
It pissed me off, but I couldn’t worry about not handling business tonight.
It was going to be my only chance to get it done easily so I had to suck it up.
The optics of her being out with him pissed me off but I wasn’t going to trip.
She’d be in our bed tonight when they got settled in at the guest house at Billy and Coby’s place, so I wasn’t worried about it.
She’d been on my line multiple times tonight apologizing but it wasn’t necessary.
I knew her heart and I hoped she wouldn’t let that nigga bring her out of her character before I had to beat another nigga’s ass tonight.
“You don’t hear sirens so clearly I kept my shit together.”
Sampson smirked before finishing the rest of his drink. “That don’t mean nothing. You could’ve shoved that nigga in an air duct or a storage closet. Ain’t like anybody on the team was gonna miss his ass.”
We both laughed at Sampson’s words because he wasn’t wrong. Charisma’s ex was barely holding on to his spot and pretty soon he was going to lose everything. I wasn’t about to let him get in trouble before he apologized to Charmy.
“I got more sense than that, Samp. Too many eyes here and too many questions would’ve been asked.”
“You act as zhough I would not have helped you solve your problem, habibi.” Xerxes, the connect who helped us get into the building without issue, walked up with his two bodyguards hanging back slightly.
In the months since we’d last seen him, he’d become a father and was talking about gifting Sampson’s ass a pony for him and Yzzy’s baby.
The baby still had webbed feet and was about to have a damn thoroughbred horse upon entering the world.
“I wouldn’t fuck up the solid you did by causing a problem.”
The door opened and his brother-in-law ATE walked through the door. He walked straight toward us and after we greeted one another he slapped me in the chest with the back of his hand.
“Yo, you got that nigga bout to shit himself.” ATE got me the information I needed on the blind spots of this arena since he’d played here before. He let me know her ex’s routine after a game since it wasn’t like the nigga had to fucking shower since he didn’t play.
“If he ain’t somewhere throwing up or losing his bowels you ain’t done your job, Buck.” Sampson was talking shit and I let him because that nigga had more problems than me coming.
“I’ll take the L on tonight ‘cause he got other shit going on. He told me that her fucking friend was the one who told him that Charmy’s kid wasn’t his.”
“That lil bitch at the ranch right now?” My brother’s eyes were narrowed and I knew his ass was plotting right along with me.
“Yeah.”
“Aye, y’all need help? I mean probably not since I watched y’all fuck up this nigga’s cousin like y’all used your fists to tenderize that good ass beef y’all sell.” Me and Samp couldn’t help but grin ‘cause ATE had seen how we got down.
“Nah, I’m not about to fuck him up. Not while he’s in town. That’s too obvious and he’s definitely the type to get the police involved. With that shit going on with the folks trying to scare people off their land, we don’t want anyone to think they’ve got a way in to trick us out of our shit.”
Xerxes nodded but I could see that he was still thinking of a way to help.
It was wild that this man was adamant about forming a lifelong friendship and shit with us.
Sampson had told him that he had done enough but Xerxes wouldn’t hear of it.
He felt like his family had committed a grave wrong against ours and that meant he felt indebted forever.
ATE really didn’t fuck with this dude because he offered another suggestion. “We could always hold him for you in Charlotte. This nigga got a bomb shelter and shit. Nobody would hear him.”
“You must not enjoy having me as a brozer. As soon as my wife looked at me she would know zhat some zing was wrong.”
“They have that way about them.” Xerxes nodded as Sampson’s besotted ass grinned.
“Zhey do. And as for zhis man at your ranch, do we need to get information on him for you?” Xerxes looked devious as hell like he’d been sitting on the sidelines for too long and was ready to do something wicked.
“Nah, right now he’s a bitch. If that changes I’m gonna do more than beat his ass up. I’ll give that piece of shit Reza a friend to join him in the well.”
“You all seem to have a good handle on zhis. I know you’re anxious to get back to your ladies as I am to get back to my wife and daughter. Congratulations on zhe baby, Sampson. We will make arrangements for zhe newest horse to join zhe fold after zhe birz.”
Sampson sighed and I knew he was trying to find a way to decline this gift without offending our friend. “I told you we were good.”
“Zhat is not for you to decide, habibi. We are bonded zhrough friendship and in bloodshed. For life and zhen after.” Xerxes extended his hand and of course Sampson took it.
“I’m glad we reaffirmed y’all still besties and shit. Charmy has been blowing me up all night and I’m anxious to get back to her and make sure this bitch she had dinner with ain’t crossed lines.”
“I can skip the team flight and ride back on the pj with Xerx if we need to head out.” ATE had his phone out like he was about to tell his team something came up so he could come fuck with us.
“Nigga just played for three damn hours but he ready to go put in work.” I was making jokes but I damn sure appreciated that we had people who went so hard for us.
“Everybody gotta have a hobby, bruh.”
“Same thing I said to Samp.” Me and ATE dapped each other while Sampson just shook his head. Xerx was out looking like a real nigga instead of the prince of Persian. He’d forgone his throbe and was dressed down like the rest of us.
“We will let you get to your lady. Let me know if there is any more help zhat you need.”
“I don’t want to get out of bed.”
I’d been trying to wake Charmy’s grumpy ass up for at least ten minutes.
Instead of staying at my place last night I swung by the casita to talk to her.
She said she needed to decompress after the dinner with her parents and that nigga and I wasn’t about to refuse.
I needed to know what he was thinking and how he was going to play this entire breakup with her parents.
Her mama didn’t seem to care about Trent’s ass one way or the other but her daddy had a soft spot for that nigga.
I didn’t know why, since he was an asshole but he was the one I was going to need to work on.
My plan was to let Charmy vent and then crash at my parent’s house.
They still had rooms for us and since I’d moved my shit out of the foreman’s cabin that was the only place on the ranch I had to stay.
Her people weren’t on the property but I wouldn’t put it past Trent’s ass to try to be slick.
Charisma didn’t give a fuck. She’d hopped on my lap and started to grind on my dick like it was the only way to relieve her stress.
And since I was never one to tell Charmy no, she could have what she wanted.
Right now though, I wished I’d been thinking with my big head since we’d both overslept and needed to get our asses moving.
“Charisma, your mama and daddy might drive their happy asses over here at any minute.
You look freshly fucked and your ‘fro is leaning like a pair of bobos. We gotta be camera ready for this gender reveal shit in like two hours. You gotta get your fine ass in gear and fast.” I slapped her on the ass to get her moving but all it did was make me want to climb back in the bed with her.
Seeing that meat shake on her wide hips was my weakness.
This girl was my fucking kryptonite.
She sat up in the bed and her hair was mashed to one side from where she’d slept on my chest. The tufted rust-colored headboard made her skin glow. I was in my bare feet on the hardwood floor and it wouldn’t have taken much for me to lose focus and dive back into the bed and her.
“Fuck. I forgot all about that.” Charmy’s eyes widened and the frustration I’d fucked out of her overnight was back.
