Chapter 18 ZAYDEN #2
‘Hey,’ I say when she pauses her frantic typing. I’ve never seen fingers move so fast. They glide over the keyboard and she doesn’t even have to look down as she does it. I suppose you’d get very quick at typing when you write novels for a living.
Glancing over her shoulder, her pretty smile that I love so much greets me. ‘Hey.’
‘I got some goodies.’
I hold up the bakery paper bags in my hands and she snaps her laptop shut, getting to her feet. She places her things onto the bench and we grab the coffees and bags, taking them into the lounge room.
‘How did it go?’ she asks, her expression a mixture between happy to see me and concerned about what I might have to say.
‘Okay,’ I say. ‘It was needed. We’re moving forward from it all.’
‘That’s great. How are you feeling?’
I shrug. ‘I mean, I’m still hurt. I always will be, but I understand that she was a victim, too, and felt powerless in her situation.’
‘It sounds like she was in a very scary place.’
‘She was.’
‘I’m proud of you.’
Our eyes meet, and I curl my hand around the back of her neck, tugging her to me. She swings a leg around my other side, settling on my lap. My hands run up her side and when we kiss, she tastes like coffee, sunshine and home. Having her on top of me is exactly what I need right now.
Pulling back, I lock my eyes on hers. ‘Thank you for being here with me. I appreciate you.’
‘There is no one else I’d rather be with.’
After we eat, I spend the next hour showing Nora around Bliss Bay: where I went to school, the footy fields I’d spend most of my evenings training at, my favourite places to eat.
We share an ice cream and walk down the North Wall, watching the waves crash against the rocks.
The salty air and the sound of the water is comforting to me.
I do enjoy being back here, even though I was so desperate to leave when I graduated high school.
It sort of feels weird being back here without Mason and Anya by my side.
It was us three against the world when we were here.
We spend the rest of the day by the beach. We swim for a bit and then retire back to our towels. I lie back, not hiding in the slightest that I can’t keep my hands or eyes off her. My eyes are trained on her breasts as she rolls to the side.
‘What?’ she asks playfully, smiling at me.
‘I want to do many, many things to you right now, and it’s very unfortunate that we’re in public.’
Biting her lip, she tilts her head to the side. ‘Prove it.’
‘I will,’ I promise her.
‘Now.’
I glance at her, hearing the seriousness in her tone.
‘Right now?’ I echo, peering around at all the people.
Slowly, she gets to her feet, and my gaze rakes over every inch of her, and I grow harder by the minute.
‘Mmhmm.’
I leap to my feet, collecting our belongings in record time.
The heat of the sand bites my feet as we make our way up to the carpark.
We rinse off the salt, and it takes every ounce of control not to grab her in front of everyone.
A few guys glance over at her while she’s under the spray of the water and it makes me even more heated that they can look but not touch, unlike me.
‘Get in the car,’ I demand, voice hoarse.
She smirks. ‘Yes, sir.’
We pile into the car and I can hardly focus on driving as Nora drags her finger down her bikini top.
Swallowing, my eyes track the movement. Heat rushes to my groin as she crawls her finger down her stomach, dipping her hand between her thighs.
She parts them, keeping her eyes on mine as she touches herself. I almost drive off the road.
I manage to get us to a secluded area that only locals know about. There’s another car a few metres away, but there doesn’t appear to be anyone in it.
‘Come here,’ I choke out, reaching for her.
She crawls across into my lap and it’s a little awkward at first. My truck is spacious, but there’s still not a lot of room to be on top of each other.
She sinks onto my lap and I stroke my fingers up her arms. She rolls her hips, making my erection stab into her thigh and I groan, the longing to be inside her becoming a physical ache.
My fingers slip underneath the strap of her top and her breasts spill out.
Full and heavy. My thumb grazes across her piercings, the sight of them turning me on impossibly more.
My cock is as hard as stone as I massage my hands over them.
She moans, grinding on me further and I thrust up into her, showing her how hard she has made me and how much I want her.
Leaning forward, I run my tongue around her nipple and she gasps at the feel of it. Her hands slip over my shoulders, digging into my skin, since I never put a shirt back on after the shower.
‘I need to be inside you,’ I groan.
‘Yeah?’ she asks, her voice laced with lust, sending a shiver down my spine. She leans forward and I bury my face between her breasts. ‘How bad?’
‘So fucking bad, you have no idea.’
My hand moves to her bikini bottom and I slip a finger under the fabric, sliding across her entrance, feeling how wet she is.
‘Always wet for me, aren’t you Vixen?’ I murmur, thrusting a finger into her.
‘I always want you.’ She grinds into my hand. ‘Put it in.’
My eyes snap to hers. ‘Really?’
‘Yes.’
She shifts back and I reach for my pants. Then there’s a sharp rap against our window and both of us jump in alarm. I glance beside me and a man is glowering at us, hands on his hips, shaking his head.
‘Oh my God,’ Nora exclaims, rolling off me and covering her exposed breasts.
The man doesn’t say anything but stomps off towards his car. I notice then that a few metres behind him, two young kids are standing there, looking totally oblivious. Guilt floods me, and it’s certainly enough to kill the vibe. They didn’t see anything, but the man did.
‘We need to get out of here right now. I could just die with embarrassment,’ she mutters.
I snort with laughter as I turn the car on, still rock hard. Nora is bright red and has her face covered as I reverse out. I can’t stop laughing until we reach the main road that takes us back to the Airbnb. She lightly slaps my arm, but when she removes her hands from her face, she’s smiling.
Before we went to the beach, I called Mum and organised to go out to dinner tonight at the new restaurant that has opened. Being out on neutral ground feels safe, and I would like to introduce Nora to her, despite how tense everything has been with us for the past few years.
As much as I would love to finish what we started, we don’t have much time to get ready before we’re meant to be meeting.
‘You think everything will be okay tonight?’ she asks, pulling her hair to one side as she straightens it, about an hour later.
She’s dressed in a gorgeous white dress and has a little white ribbon in her hair.
She looks beautifully innocent, but I know better than anyone else that she most certainly is not.
‘I hope so. It will be good to do something normal with her. I can’t remember the last time we did anything remotely mother-and-son like.’
‘I think it’ll be great for the both of you and besides, I’ll be there to break the tension. Surely it won’t be any worse than the dinner you experienced with my family.’
‘Agreed.’
‘I love being here with you. I like experiencing all the places you went when growing up. I’ll have to take you down south. Show you my hometown.’
‘I’d love that,’ I say. ‘Name the time and place, I’ll be there.’
Dipping her head back, I kiss her deeply.
‘Hey Zayden?’ she whispers against my lips.
‘Hey Nora?’ I reply.
‘I’m falling in love with you, too.’
