8. Chapter Seven
Janie knew she was being rude, and it bothered her, but she didnt know how else to get him to leave her alone. He wasnt and she didnt want to get attached to him.
She couldnt.
Janie needed to think about Eleanor and what was best for her. She was so young and she didnt want her to get attached to him only for Mac to leave or ask to get rid of her. She wasnt getting rid of her daughter. No way in hell would she do that for any man or anyone.
Mac sighed and cupped her face in his hands. He leaned his forehead against hers and looked into her eyes. It was making her sick so she closed her eyes.
Im going to fight for you two. Show you that Im staying for good and not going anywhere, he whispered so she could only hear. Janie took a shaky breath in and opened her eyes again. He pulled back slightly and looked at her. I promise, he said. And I dont break my promises.
She knew he didnt break his promises and that was what worried her. He was going to fight until she gave in. Was it wise to just give in now? Or should she try to make him see that she wasnt the right person for him?
You dont want me, she whispered.
Why do you say that? he asked. I want the honest truth. Why dont I want you?
You just dont, she said, not looking at him. Couldnt he see what she was talking about?
You dont get to decide for me, he said. I see you for you and I want you. I want your daughter who Ive only talked to twice. I want both of you and Im going to fight for you. Im not going to stop until I have you two.
Tears filled her eyes and she blinked several times. She couldnt cry but everything was so confusing.
Its going to be okay, he whispered.
She shook her head. Ive got to go. She didnt want to talk about this right now. He didnt know the future and what it held. For all she knew, he could be gone in a month. She didnt want to get attached only for him to leave.
Janie walked over towards the group she was with near the bar. Im going to go home, she gently said. She could hear and feel Mac behind her. Was he going to follow her the whole way?
Are you sure? Echo asked. You dont have to.
Were sorry about earlier. We just wanted to give you to a private moment, Kyle said. We didnt mean to make you uncomfortable and wouldve stayed if you wanted us to.
Janie shook her head. I know what you were doing and its okay. Dont worry about it.
We were thinking about playing with the dolls here for a bit, Elsha said. Are you sure you have to go home now?
Yeah, Im exhausted and need to go back to Eleanor, Janie said.
You go rest, mama, Tucker said. Take it easy. If you need anything, just text the group chat and well come help.
And were serious about it, Echo said. We dont want you burning out or getting sick.
Thank you guys, she whispered. It really means a lot. Ill see you soon. Janie had a feeling that they knew she wouldnt message them at all. It was hard for her but she was going to try because she told them she would.
Bye. Get home safely! they all said.
Janie made her way towards the front of the club.
Im driving you home, Mac said.
She turned around. No. Im going to take an Uber home like I normally do. Macs face turned to shock and he grabbed her arm. Did she say something wrong?
You always take an Uber home? he slowly asked.
Yes, she replied. I dont enjoy driving but I especially dont want to be driving home after playing. I could still be lingering in Littlespace and I dont want to have an accident.
He continued to stare at her, almost like he didnt believe her words.
I thought you knew that. I put it on my application that I would have an Uber take me to the club and home every time I came, she said.
Had he looked over her file? She had no doubt all of the owners looked at each one to see who the person was and what their hard limits were. Granted, Janie didnt think they remembered all of that. There were a lot of members and she didnt know anyone who had that good of a memory.
You arent taking an Uber any more to the club, he said.
You cant do that, she said.
I just did, he replied. Ill be driving you to and from the club. Janie stomped her foot and crossed her arms. He couldnt do that.
No, she replied. Taking an Uber is perfectly safe.
No its not! he said. How is it safe? It’s a random stranger who could do anything to you.
She stilled at the mention of that. Janie hadnt given that much thought and she knew why. She would be scared thinking about it.
Sure, Mac was right but that didnt mean she needed to tell him that. Nothing had happened to her since she started to take an Uber to the club and to home.
Im taking an Uber home and you cant stop me, she said. Mac gripped her chin with his fingers and bent down so they were eye level. Fear and arousal went through her body as he looked into her eyes and held her chin. She loved it when he got so dominant with her, but she also was worried about what he was going to do.
Its non-negotiable, Mac said very slowly, pronouncing every word.
Chills ran through her body at his tone of voice. Im taking you to and from the club, he said. Its safer for me to take you. We live right next to each other.
No, she whispered.
Tough luck. Its happening and if I find you coming or leaving the club without me, your bottom is going to pay.
Her hands immediately landed on her bottom and she squeezed her cheeks. She didnt want to get a spanking.
You cant do that, she said, her voice weak and unsure.
Oh, yes I can. We went over this when I disciplined you at the club, he said.
Janie stayed quiet.
And I know that got explained to you and that you understood before you ticked that box and signed the contract, Mac said. But if thats changed, say your safe word and you can talk to another owner and have it removed.
She looked into his eyes. She knew she signed that contract and checked that box off. Janie didnt want to go back on what she had signed because she wanted it. Janie wanted to be held accountable while she was at the club. Sure, the owner she talked to when signing the contract did say a monitor or owner could interfere if they thought she was putting herself in danger or not taking care of herself.
Inside the club and outside the club.
Janie knew that and was okay with it. It made her feel comfortable and safe. It was also something she liked about the club. They didnt interfere a lot with people, but when they saw something, they would talk and try to resolve things. Janie hadnt told anyone much of anything. So they couldnt really interfere with her much. Some people in the club were more forthcoming with information but she wasnt.
Do you want to use your safe word and talk to another owner about your contract? Mac asked. You can always go back to your contract and change or add things.
No, she whispered. I dont want that.
Okay, he said. So, you have two options. You can either get a ride with me or I can find another monitor or owner to take you home.
Janie huffed out some air, ground her teeth together, and crossed her arms. Who did she want to take her home? She wanted another person to take her home. She didnt want to feel so vulnerable around him. But at the same time she wanted him to take her home. She felt comfortable and safe around him.
Sure, there were other owners or monitors of the club she felt comfortable around. Well, partially. She didnt really know any of the other monitors or owners really well. The only reason she knew Mac so well is because he was her neighbor and made an initiative to talk to her.
So, what are you picking? he asked.
She was also all about saving money. They were going to go to the same place. Logically it wouldnt make sense for another monitor or owner to take her home when Mac was going home.
Are you actually going home right now? she whispered.
Yes, I am, he said. I dont have anything else to do tonight.
Janie took a deep breath in. I guess you can take me, she said. But this wont happen again.
He gave her a little smile. Well see about that.
Janie watched as he stood up to his full height and she took a shaky breath in. The way he was looking at her made her feel all gooey inside. It was like he had a challenge and he was going to conquer it.
Conquer her.
A shiver ran through her body at that thought. It turned her on. Was that wrong? Should she be feeling this way about that? If it was right or wrong, she needed to stay away from him. She didnt need to feel this way towards him. She was trying to stay away from him.
Great, he said. Do you need anything before we leave?
Janie! Echo yelled.
Her head turned towards her direction and Janies eyes went wide.
Shit.
You almost forgot Josie! Echo yelled.
Janie ran over towards Echo and grabbed Josie.
Thank you, she whispered. I dont know what I would have done if I got home and didnt have her.
Welcome. Go home and get some rest, Echo replied.
Janie walked back over towards Mac and nodded her head.
Im good to go now, she whispered as she clutched her pink bear to her chest.
And who is this? he asked.
Josie, she whispered.
Such a pretty name for a pretty stuffed bear.
Mac placed his hand on the small of her back and guided her towards the front door.
I got your belongings from the front desk, Mac said.
Thank you.
Mac helped her into the car and buckled her in.
Ill need to get you a booster seat, he mumbled.
No you dont, she said. You arent going to be taking me any more. Dont waste your money.
We’ll see about that.” He stared at her and gave her a smile. Janie didnt say anything to him. She waited for him to get into the car and start it up. It didnt take them long to get back to her house.
Wait, he said as her hand was on the door handle. She sighed but waited for him to come around to help her out. She remembered what he had said the last time.
Good girl, he whispered as he helped her out of the car. Butterflies went through her stomach. That was the first time he had called her a good girl and she was loving it.
Ill see you later, he said as he kissed her forehead.
Bye. she replied. Janie opened the door and closed it, leaning up against the door. Sighing, she closed her eyes for a second to calm herself down.
Lock the door, Mac said. She jumped in the air and turned around and glared at the door. Of course, Mac couldnt see her.
Lock the door, he said again. Janie quickly locked the door.
Good girl, he said. Goodnight, Pinky. Dont let the bed bugs bite.
