The trio was back on the couch now, planted in the middle.
“I’ll give it a day or two to see what happens,” Pruitt said as he referenced his bite. “If nothing is better, we’ll go talk to Old Mother Madge. Sound okay, G?”
nodded.
“So, before all this happened, was it the plan all along to take me out for a picnic and fuck me silly under the stars, or?” asked, looking from Uriah to Pruitt as he reached for both of their hands.
Uriah sighed. “Indeed, little witch.”
“I was gonna say make love, but yeah, essentially,” Pruitt added dryly.
“So, backtracking to the little werewolf party we stumbled upon, I wanted to tell you guys about Haven.”
“Ah, see? Told ya, Wolf Man.” Uriah shot Pruitt a look. “Adding another guy to the harem already, eh, little witch?”
“Not at all,” replied with a straight face. “And is that what I call you guys now, my harem ?”
Both the vampire and the werewolf shrugged.
“Well, us vampires are generally non-monogamous to begin with,” Uriah said before pressing a kiss into ’s cheek. “That doesn’t mean we can’t be committed to someone who we care about, but what it does mean is that we are accepting and understanding of non-monogamy in our relationships. And for the record, I am completely monogamous with you two.”
“The same can be said for werewolves, although it’s not something I’ve expressly practiced before,” added Pruitt. “I mean, but, look. I used to think of Uriah as my mortal enemy, and yet here we are.”
“We all just became boyfriends, so I’ll admit I’m not sure how or if I could add in another,” hesitated. “Wouldn’t you guys be jealous?”
“G,” Pruitt replied as he shook his head no, “I’m happy when you’re happy.”
“Well, we’re both alpha males, so I suppose it’s gonna be hard for any new guys to come in and win you over,” Uriah purposefully exaggerated an uppity tone. “As far as jealousy goes, I’ve had over three-hundred years to figure out how useless of an emotion that is. Now, if someone hurts you—well, let’s just say I spent the same amount of time mastering the art of torture.”
“As far as potential suitors go, my money was on Darcy,” added Pruitt. “Well, until today, I guess.”
“ Really ?” Uriah threw his arms up. “Mine was professor witch daddy living in my basement.”
“Darcy? Wait, and you thought Professor Quinn? ” His cheeks feeling as though they were on fire from embarrassment, looked from Pruitt to Uriah. “Is that something you guys talk about when I’m not around? Because let’s just say I had no idea. ”
The vampire and werewolf gave their signature guilty looks. “Guess it’s good that witches aren’t supernaturally drawn to one another the way we were drawn to you,” Pruitt admitted.
“No kidding,” chuckled Uriah. “On top of that, I’m glad that Quinn and Darcy have that little witch-hiding enchantment on them, ‘cause—well, I’ve never been into daddies, but let’s just say that Quinn has a great ass.”
“You think?” asked . Sure, he had definitely thought Professor Quinn was verging on silver fox territory, but he hadn’t gone as far as to rate his assets.
To ’s surprise, Pruitt interjected. “Without a doubt.”
“I thought he was your friend ,” said, raising a brow in Uriah’s direction.
Uriah playfully grabbed ’s hips, hoisting them up and dry humping into him from behind. “Friend and professor. Let’s just say I might have to get me some extra credit.”
“Okay, okay,” started . “I’ll admit, I’ve felt some sexual tension with both of them.”
“See, just like I’ve been saying!” Uriah clapped his hands. “When you’re supernatural, everyone’s a little bit gay—and a whole hell of a lot hornier.”
“Which brings us back to our chance encounter with, um, what’s the name? Ah, yes. Haven,” Pruitt nudged ’s leg with his own. “The park ranger with remarkable aim… for a human.”
“Hard for me to pinpoint his smell precisely,” added Uriah. “But we do know our boy here clearly has a hard-on for men that go bump in the night.”
giggled as Uriah playfully pinched his nipples. Despite his sore shoulder, Pruitt wiggled his way closer to his boyfriends until they found themselves in a cuddle puddle, all of them cautious to not aggravate his bite wound.
“All right, yeah,” said . “Well, besides the fact that he’s cute and could definitely get it, what else is there to say? He’s blonde, in good shape, Australian, and maybe just a little shorter than you guys.”
“Huh. Sounds like I’d fuck ‘im, too,” Uriah teased.
rolled his eyes. “But in all seriousness, he seemed frazzled. Rushed, almost. He told me he was off-duty—or just finishing his shift, maybe? His shirt was even unbuttoned.”
?I’m sure little witch liked that,? Uriah shared amongst the group.
pushed an elbow into Uriah’s stomach. ? Come on.?
Uriah responded by swinging his legs onto the couch, scooping up , and planting him in his lap while wrapping his arms around him.
“What else, babe?” Pruitt asked, adjusting himself so he could lean his head on ’s chest.
“He was firing darts into the tree because there was another werewolf climbing it and trying to get to me. He had dirty hands when he woke me up,” recalled as he cradled his wounded lover. “He goes to Moonhaven over in Crescent Ridge.”
“Ah, with a name like that, it’s clearly a school for werewolves,” Uriah said with great assurance. “Actually, maybe Pru should transfer there.”
“They wish,” Pruitt laughed. “Then their football team might not suck so much.”
“Coincidentally, he’s on that team. Guess you’re playing against him this weekend,” continued as he gave Pruitt’s hand a squeeze. “He also told me this whole forest area is actually owned by the university. Did the poor guy you stole this cabin from know that, Uriah?”
“Listen here before I bite those sassy fingers off and dip them in ketchup, human,” Uriah grabbed ’s hands, locking the witch’s arms in his and rendering him helpless to tickle attacks and sensual neck kisses. “As I said earlier, I compelled the nice owner of this cabin to let us rent it out for as long as we’d like, fair and square. And maybe told him to move to Mexico.”
rolled his eyes, looking to Pruitt in hopes he would back him up. “Hey, don’t try to rope me into this,” he replied. “Pre- Uriah would’ve just ate the owner, so I call that growth.”
“Exactly,” Uriah said, releasing from his stronghold—but not before tugging the witch’s shirt off and tossing it to the floor.
“I want naked cuddles for sure, guys, but there was one other thing about Haven that I should mention.” took on a more serious demeanor. “Something you guys need to know.”
“What’s that?” Uriah asked, nibbling ’s ear. “Is he packing, like the rest of your boyfriends?”
“No—well, I don’t know that. Penis size aside, it looked to me like he had a wolf scratch on his back,” replied.
The carefree mood of the room changed in a matter of seconds. ’s attention turned to Pruitt, whose face he carefully studied. He knew his boyfriend was already concerned about the possibility of turning Darcy into a werewolf. And now what? A wound that won’t heal, plus a new baby werewolf that was his responsibility?
The vampire let out an overdramatic sigh. “If you wanted a new dog so badly, I’d be more than happy to take you down to the Mystic Hollow animal rescue. It’s really quite a lovely establishment.”
Humor aside, could tell that this new revelation made even Uriah uneasy.
“Pruitt?” spoke softly, wrapping his hands around the quarterback’s bigger, stronger ones. “Say something.”
“Well, I—Uriah was with me, right?” Pruitt looked around the room as though in search of answers. “The only person—the only thing I attacked was a werewolf that was about to attack you. You two saw that.”
Uriah and nodded, but remained quiet.
“And was it healing?” inquired Pruitt. “Did you see?”
“I couldn’t tell. It was a quick look.” shook his head, his eyes growing wide as he recalled the rest of his interaction with the handsome park ranger. “And actually, there was something else. He seemed to smell me— said he really liked my cologne.”
could hear both his boyfriends sniffing him before he finished his sentence, the vampire from behind while the werewolf moved along his chest.
“The only cologne I smell on you is—well, honestly , hints of whatever Uriah wears,” determined Pruitt.
“Well, that—and beyond the whole wet dog smell from all our new doggy pals—a strong combination of tree sap and magic,” added Uriah, his beard tickling ’s shoulders.
raised an eyebrow. “Tree sap?”
Uriah glossed over ’s comment and became the first one to call him out. “Still haven’t done that witch cloaking spell I was talking about earlier, have ya?”
Pruitt sighed. “in, you know that’s dangerous.”
Here we go. Time to tell them, right? At least tell them something. thought to himself as he inhaled deeply . “I know I said I planned to—and I still do. I was hesitant to take the next step in planning the ritual because—well...” ’s voice trailed off, but the look in his partners’ eyes prodded him on. “Um, the final item I need for it is my family grimoire.”
“Which means?” Pruitt asked.
Uriah gave Pruitt a playful shove. “It’s a spell book, dummy.” Opening his mouth as though to reply to him, the werewolf just smiled and rolled his eyes.
“Which means I have to either—I don’t know—grab an Ouija board to communicate with your lovely ex-girlfriend, also known as my great-great-great evil ancestor, or go back to where she was sealed away originally and find it myself. Actually, I might have to do both.”
“Oh, that’s all, love?” Uriah asked, his voice full of sarcasm. “Well, I’m here to help. I mean, not with the talking to her part. We’re not on speaking terms right now. You boys know how it is.”
“Is that all you were going to tell us, G?” asked Pruitt.
bit his lip before finally replying. “Well, no.” But I don’t want to say what else I was thinking, he thought to himself.
?Why not?? he could hear Pruitt reply telepathically.
The witch looked at his werewolf lover with a hesitant, reserved look.
Uriah echoed through ’s mind. ?Come on, pipsqueak. You know you can tell us anything.?
“I know I can,” spoke aloud, adjusting himself on the couch so that he could face both of them. “I was nervous to do the magic cloaking spell because I didn’t want you two to lose any kind of pheromonal attraction to me. I mean, you both had girlfriends— evil girlfriends , but still women—when I first met you. My magical abilities—they’re what make me smell so good to vampires and werewolves; what attracts them to me. That’s what drew you both to me, right?”
The two nodded.
“I just…” struggled for the words, his voice cracking. “I think everyone in a relationship has some kind of fear of losing the person, persons —or, in this instance, the vampire and werewolf they care about. I think even you two have it. I could see it today on your faces when we were ambushed.”
Pruitt spoke softly. “in…”
Hot tears pooled at ’s eyelids. “So, if I do the spell, what if all that goes away? What if this—what we all have and share—fades away?”
could feel the comforting hands of his boyfriends on his shoulders and hands.
“That scent you’re talking about, little witch—the magical one—that’s not why I’m drawn to you anymore,” Uriah said, his facial features soft and vulnerable. “I’d argue I have better smell than our big quarterback here, and you know what? It hadn’t even dawned on me whether or not you had cloaked your magic until just this moment. Guess I’m just used to it by now.”
“Really?” asked.
The vampire and werewolf wiped away tears from ’s face at the same time, their fingers gently caressing the cheek closest to them.
“He’s telling the truth, G,” Pruitt chimed in. “It was your magic that drew us to you in the very beginning, but the only thing that kept us coming back was you . I won’t speak for Uriah, but you opened my mind up—my heart up to something I can’t imagine my life without today.”
“You guys are so sweet, I could just—ugh, I don’t know, die,” said, his cheeks turning red as he smiled.
“All of that,” Uriah said, putting his hands on ’s shoulders, “plus, Pru would’ve never let you out of town had he known you were still so vulnerable.”
Pruitt nudged Uriah’s chest with his elbow. “Hey, now, don’t kick a man when he’s already down,” he teased, nodding toward his shoulder.
“Sorry for being emotional,” said with one final sniffle. “Today’s been a long day.”
“Yes, it has,” Pruitt replied, pressing kisses into ’s forehead, cheeks, and finally his lips. “But you’re my boyfriend, in Kyler, and no spell is going to change that.”
“Exactly,” added Uriah, his arms squeezing tight. “But you can’t be our boyfriend if you wind up dog food for a pack of wild werewolves.”
Pruitt and Uriah’s hands grazed before the vampire leaned in and kissed the werewolf.
“I couldn’t imagine a better team,” Pruitt said with a smile.
“Me, neither,” Uriah nodded. “Or a better lay.”
“Speaking of,” said Pruitt, a devious tone in his voice as he gently pushed his witch lover into Uriah’s chest, climbing on top of them both. “We never gave the tour.”
“Oh, yeah?” asked.
“That’s right,” Uriah replied. “But are we sure we should be letting Wolf Man be on top?”
could only imagine the two were exchanging a look that closely resembled the devil emoji.
“There’s some boring stuff on this level of the house—you know, a kitchen, dining room, guest bathroom,” Pruitt said as his lips caressed ’s neck. “But upstairs…”
“Oh, yeah,” Uriah picked up the conversation, his big fingers finding ’s nipples and teasing them. “Then upstairs, there’s the much more exciting bedroom complete with a California king and a very nice en-suite bathroom. You know, the kind with a big hot tub and shower the perfect size for two strapping supernatural beasts and their twinky little witch.”
giggled. “How oddly specific.”
“Maybe you should help me get upstairs so we can make up for what he missed out on today,” Pruitt nodded his head to Uriah. “And yes, before either of you asks, I’m definitely feeling up for it.”
“About bloody time,” Uriah said with a wink. “Why don’t I get the shower nice and warm for us?”
“I vote we jump right to the tour of the bedroom,” replied Pruitt.
couldn’t say no to that suggestion.
