Chapter 35

Cam

“Why are we here again?” Hawk downs his energy drink like it’s gold.

The here is a party. It’s not as big as Fletcher’s parties, but it’s decent. Most girls give us once-overs as we pass. The guys size us up and decide not to fuck with us. I don’t give a shit about anyone else here. I’m just looking for one person.

“Elizabeth Stanwell,” I tell him as we move through the rooms of the party. She didn’t accept my friend request. Probably saw I was from Deimos. Maybe even asked her brother about me. But one of her friends did, and that friend was happy to post about the party they were attending tonight.

“I don’t know what it will prove if Elizabeth goes to the same school as Jackson. It doesn’t mean they know each other.” Hawk’s still grumbly, even with the caffeine. Probably because we both know Damon is fucking Evan, and Hawk wanted to watch— maybe even join in.

Those two need some time together before we descend and help fuck our girl into the weekend. As I look around the party, I’m not seeing anyone I know. Every now and then Hawk will nod at some guy.

“He plays hockey.” And then he’ll list off a school, but not Kentwood Prep. I just nod because I know most of the guys who play hockey.

I glance at the girl’s feed and see a picture from out by the pool.

Signaling Hawk, I make my way out back where the party is a little more quiet but not any less boisterous.

As Hawk steps outside, the girls zero in on him like flies to shit.

Then they notice others noticing him and eye each other up and down like they’re daring each other to make the first move.

He doesn’t even look at the girls, but I expected that. He hasn’t seen anyone else but his Annie for a while.

We walk over to a cooler and grab a couple of beers.

Hawk lifts his brow, but I just shake my head.

It’s easier to talk to others with something in your hand.

It makes them more comfortable approaching you.

I casually tip some out into a nearby potted plant—sorry plant—and hand one to Hawk.

He lifts it to his mouth like he’s going to drink and then lowers it.

“Enemy territory.” I glance around. I haven’t seen anyone from either of our schools here. I’m not surprised. It was a drive, and there’s a small party in town tonight.

“You brought us here. Do you see your target?” He leans back against the exterior of the house and looks around lazily, but he’s scanning.

“It would help if I knew what she looked like.” I found an old news article.

Even Brandt doesn’t have pictures of his sister on his social media.

And she sticks to pictures without her face in them.

Damon gave me a description. Well, height, hair, maybe color of eye. Hoity-toity, stuck up, rich girl.

Unfortunately, that description applies to most of these girls.

Hawk glances at the picture of the friend on my phone and then looks around again. He bumps my arm and heads toward a group of girls in some chairs.

“Raven,” he says as we approach.

A dark-haired girl looks up at him and the confusion on her face clears as she checks him out. “Do I know you?”

Hawk smirks. “I’ve been sliding into your DMs for weeks now. I hope so.”

Raven smiles. She doesn’t know who he is, but she doesn’t want to admit it. “That’s right. How are you?”

The other girls drink their pink cocktails slowly, eating up every minute of this interaction. I take them all in. I don’t think any of them are Elizabeth.

Hawk keeps up a conversation with Raven that’s just this side of not talking about anything specific. Poor Raven. A few of the other girls are glassy-eyed and stare at the two of them like a tennis match.

One girl looks me over and nods for me to come closer. Her makeup is dark around her eyes. Fuck it. I need a break.

She leans into me, making sure her mouth isn’t in the direction of her friends. “He doesn’t know her, does he?”

Her pale blue eyes lift to mine. I smile cockily and shake my head just slightly.

She smirks and looks me over again. “What’s your deal?”

“Looking for a chick to ask her something.”

“I’m a chick.” She takes a drink of her beer. She’s the only one in this group drinking a beer instead of a pink cocktail.

“Are you Elizabeth Stanwell?”

The girl chokes on a laugh. “No, not even close.”

“You know her?”

She snorts and takes a long pull of her beer. “Yeah, everyone here does. She’s got a famous as fuck father. Everyone wants to be her friend. Is that why you’re looking for her?”

Her eyes narrow on me.

“Nah.” I take a sip of my beer and glance at Hawk. He’s still chatting with Raven while the others continue to be mesmerized.

“What do you need her for then?” the girl asks.

“I got this theory I want to find out.”

“You a stalker?” The girl arches her eyebrow.

“Would I tell you if I were?”

She snorts. “Probably not. Tell me your theory.”

“I know this guy who goes to a school, and I want to see if they know each other.”

“Hmm.” She looks thoughtful before saying, “She’s not here tonight.”

Fuck.

“But I tell you what. I’m bored, and this party is lame. What if I answer your questions? For a price.” She smirks and finishes her beer.

I narrow my eyes. “What price?”

“There are rooms—”

“I have a girlfriend. I don’t cheat.” I make sure to use a tone that she understands this is non-negotiable.

“Shame.” She shrugs and turns to look at Raven and Hawk.

After thinking about it for a moment, I say, “You didn’t really want to fuck me, did you?”

“Just seeing how desperately you want the information.” She glances my way with a cocky grin. “What do you need to know?”

“How do I know you’ll actually tell me the truth?”

“You won’t.” She shrugs. “But I’m guessing a guy like you could probably track me down.”

“Again, I’ve got a girl.” I run a hand through my hair.

“Not offering. But you never know when having an acquaintance at another school might pay off.” She gives me a shrewd look.

That I can agree with. “Fine.”

“What’s so important about Elizabeth if you have a girlfriend?”

“Not sharing that.”

“And we’re sure we aren’t a stalker?” She arches an eyebrow.

“Not a stalker. Where does she go to school?”

“Hmm. A stalker would be able to find that out, probably.” She taps her finger on her lips like she’s thinking.

“Probably.” I shrug.

“Fine. She goes to Barrington Academy.” She must notice the disappointment on my face. “Not the answer you were looking for?”

“No, but thank you...” I don’t know her name.

“Morgan.”

“Thank you, Morgan.” I glance at Hawk and see he’s running out of things to say to Raven. “You’ve been helpful.”

“From the looks of it, I haven’t.” Morgan smirks. She pulls out a small card with a name and number on it. “You need anything else, text me.”

You never know. I take her card. “Cam.”

She smiles. “Nice to meet you, Cam.”

I jerk my head to Hawk, and he disengages. We walk away.

“Find out anything?” he asks.

“Nothing good, but made a new friend.” I pocket the card, ready to get back to my girl and see if they’ve finally made up.

Damon

I toss a pair of jeans and my t-shirt at Evan. She’s stretched out on our bed, practically boneless. She sets them to the side and props herself on her elbows. Her stormy eyes are suggestive, and with her naked, I’m tempted to sink back into her.

We could spend hours reconnecting physically, but this needs to be dealt with before the guys rejoin us. Those eyes of hers make me want to say fuck it and fuck her.

I shake my head and put on my own jeans. “We need to leave this room or we’ll just fuck all night.”

“And that’s a problem?” She gives me this cheeky grin that makes my heart do funny things and my cock get even more ideas.

I chuckle darkly. “No, but we won’t have a chance to work out our issues if I’m buried deep inside you.”

She releases her breath and grabs the shirt, not bothering with a bra. I toss her a pair of panties. She arches her eyebrow as she pulls them on.

Standing, she shimmies into her jeans as I put on a shirt. I grab the front of her jeans and draw her into me. She slides her hands under my shirt, touching my abs, my sides, my back. Fuck.

When I lower my face to hers, she tips her head expecting a kiss.

“Be a good girl and get your shoes on.”

She pouts when I don’t kiss her. But when she turns to go find her shoes, I smack her ass.

She shakes her head and glances over her shoulder at me. “Hawk does that better.”

I laugh. She smiles before disappearing into her room to get her shoes. Fuck, I love this girl and need to do everything in my power to make this right.

I sink down onto the edge of the bed to put on my own shoes. I haven’t taken the time to watch all the videos from this week. Mostly because I didn’t want to have a hard-on and not be able to do anything about it in Ivan’s room.

I’ll probably watch them with Evan sitting on my dick or her sucking my cock. Either will work.

Not watching them just made me want her more. Watching her do her homework. Talking to her over text when everyone else was asleep. I could see her, but not hear or feel her. Even a little broken, we’re bound tight together.

She comes back in and leans in the doorway to the bathroom. “Your dad asked if I wanted to move rooms.”

I lean back on my hands on the bed and arch an eyebrow. “What made you stay?”

She glances toward her bedroom. “That’s not my bedroom.”

She pushes off the doorframe and walks over to me stopping between my knees. “This is my bedroom. It has been since I moved in.”

I grab her and pin her down on the bed. She laughs, and I lean down and kiss her.

EvanAnn

The night is a little chilly, so Damon added his sweatshirt to my look before we headed out. I snuggle into his back as he shifts gears and drives us out of town. He doesn’t go to our spot, but the pull-off where Cam and I parked.
