Chapter 10 #2
“Are you at the clubhouse?” he roars over the phone. “Get there and be in my office…no, it can’t wait…get Havoc and Brass to meet also, I’ll be there in twenty.” He hangs up and then looks back to me.
“Pack this shit up, we’re going back to the clubhouse so that my club can hear this bullshit.”
“What? It’s late, can’t we do this in the morning?” I plead. I smell like sex and probably look like it too.
“Fuck no! Someone wants information on my club to bring us down. We go now. Bring whatever you need.”
I roll my eyes and stand to find some clothes so that I’m not yanked out of here naked. Some men are so dramatic. I start to walk out ahead of him when I feel a sting on my right bare butt cheek. The shock gives me a delayed yelp.
“Don’t roll your eyes at me, Wildcat,” he orders with a smirk as I rub the area he just smacked.
“You’re a brute,” I comment as I step into the closet.
As I’m throwing on fresh underwear and a bra, I find a cute lounge set with socks and tennis shoes before throwing my messy sex hair in a bun on top of my head.
Once I check the mirror to make sure I look somewhat decent, I go over to the office area to gather up the stuff I’ll need to show the boys my work.
“The fuck? Do you own anything that covers up that sexy body? Christ, I’m gonna end up killing one of my brothers for even looking in your direction.”
I glance down in confusion. All my private parts are covered. What is he talking about?
As if reading my mind he says, “That fits you like second skin, Raegan.”
“You’re going need to calm down before you have a stroke. I’m not wearing anything revealing. Hell, your boys picked me up off the streets in less than this,” I tell him with a challenging raised eyebrow. “You need to pick your battles, and this is not one you’ll win.”
After grabbing everything I need, I reach for my keys and purse, but Kane snatches the keys off the counter before me. He’s fully dressed now and waiting by the door.
“I’ll drive since I’d probably wreck if you were on the back of my bike in that little getup.”
“What about your bike?”
“It’s secure. No one’s gonna mess with it. Ready?”
“As I’ll ever be,” I sarcastically say and wave my arm around.
I’m walking out the door in front of Kane when I hear another loud smack. Heat forms on my ass before my brain catches up.
“What was that for?” I say rubbing my stinging ass again for the second time tonight.
“You keep that smartass up and I’ll turn that delectable ass red raw, Wildcat.”
Without looking back, I walk to my car, but can’t help the smile imprinted on my face. The thought does sound delicious. Once we get in the car, I notice Kane taking off his cut but leaving his holster on.
He glances over and must see my smile. “What’s that grin for, babe?”
“Just thinking about how the other cheek is now jealous,” I say then turn back to the road and hear a grunt coming from the driver’s side.
“Christ, I’ve created a monster. Don’t worry, I plan to give that ass a lot of attention later,” Kane says in a husky tone.
After driving across town, we pull up to the clubhouse right as some of the other guys do. Kane parks my car across from the bikes, like I did earlier in the day and we get out.
“This better be worth our time, Stone. I was neck deep in some good pussy when you called,” the guy, Ledger, from the other night says. He seems to slur a bit and his eyes are blood shot. He must be drunk or high.
“I don’t give a fuck where you were. This is club business,” Kane booms and Ledger straightens his back.
Kane puts an arm around my shoulders and walks us into the clubhouse.
The place is loud with smoke everywhere and naked women throughout the bar.
Some guy has a girl on the pool table, another one against the wall by the darts, and one on the couch before my eyes focus on a threesome by the stairs.
Not being able to look away, Kane guides me through trying to block most of it.
I see Riot coming from a long hallway and our eyes meet.
He looks panicked and hightails it over to us.
“Prez, I promise she doesn’t have anything to do with that asshole,” he pleads in my defense. He tries to grab for me to pull me away from Kane, but Kane blocks his attempt.
“This has nothing to do with that, Riot. I’ll let everyone know what is going on in church tomorrow morning.”
Riot doesn’t appear to be convinced and gives me are you okay eyes. I nod as we enter in Kane’s office. It isn’t long before Havoc, Brass, Hawk, and Ledger all take a seat.
Havoc sees me and gives a confused look. He looks half wasted from here.
“It’s been brought to my attention that someone is trying to hack us to get our files,” Kane tells them.
“No way. It’s impossible, you know I monitor and have the best firewalls,” Hawk cuts in.
“I beg to differ,” I pipe up. “I was able to get in and out within twenty minutes. I downloaded everything,” I say, and it’s like they are just now realizing I’m in the room.
“Who the fuck are you?” Hawk asks. “Wait, aren’t you that hot little piece the prospects picked up the other night?”
“Easy,” Kane growls.
“I hack. That’s how I make a living. I was sent a request for information on the club and was offered a hefty price in return,” I tell them with a shrug.
“So out of the goodness of your heart you came here with this information and expect us to believe a word out of your mouth. What’s in it for you?” Ledger criticizes. I see Brass giving Kane a glance before placing a hand on Ledger’s shoulder, giving it a tight squeeze.
“Why don’t we listen to what she has to say, before we judge,” Brass remarks. I notice his enormous paw still on Ledger’s shoulder pressing a little harder making Ledger wince.
Havoc hasn’t bellowed a word this entire time. Almost like he is trying to choose his words carefully.
“Raegan, who wants to hack us?” Havoc finally speaks leaning forward in his chair.
I grab my bag and pull out my laptop. After booting it up, I pull the email I was sent and show the guys.
“It was sent by a guy named Antonio Garza. It took me a few minutes to reverse the sender, but it led me there. I couldn’t find anyone by that name at first, but the Vipers do have a Tony Garza in their crew. He does a lot of computer stuff for them apparently.”
There is a collective groan and cussing going around the room now.
“Hold the fuck up!” Hawk hops up and snatches the laptop right out of my hands.
His eyes are all over the screen, but then he stares back up at me with a new found attitude.
“You’re Ghost? No fucking way!” he snaps in disbelief then drops my computer on the desk to grab my upper arms in a fierce grip causing me to whimper.
I don’t think these men understand just how gigantic they are compared to me.
I hear the sliding of chairs and then Hawk is snatched from in front of me with Kane pushing me behind him.
“Don’t you ever put your hands on her,” he booms. His hands are shaking. I think with the way his body is locked and tense and ready for battle that he could take on an army.
Brass and Havoc both have Hawk up against the wall. I bury my head into Kane’s back to collect myself. Hawk didn’t hurt me, but he did surprise the shit out of me. Being manhandled is not something I’m used to and after just a few days around these men I think I’ve hit my limit.
“No, no. You don’t understand. I’ve been trying to find you for years,” Hawk confesses trying to shake off the guys.
“Every time I get close to being able to contact you, you seem to vanish on the deep web.” He turns to the other guys in the room and says, “She’s like the biggest celebrity in the IT world. ”
The tension eases a little as Hawk tames his overzealous enthusiasm.
Kane heaves out a breath then turns his back to the others and starts checking me out.
Leaning down he whispers, “Are you okay?” When I nod, he says, “I won’t let anyone hurt you.
” He starts rubbing my back then upper arms, soothing my anxiety away.
I nod because I don’t trust my voice right now. I know he can probably tell I’m still a little shaken. Kane leads me over behind his desk to sit in his chair and to put some distance from the others. I can’t help to think what Havoc is thinking about Kane’s protectiveness over me.
“Are you cool, Hawk?” Kane asks pointedly.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m sorry if I scared you. You’re a legend and…wow.” Hawk looks star struck. It makes me feel a little weird.
“If you’re done fangirling, we need to get to business,” Kane chides.
He nods to me and I pick up the laptop that landed on the desk.
“Before going any further, the people in this room are the only ones who know my identity as Ghost, and I’d like for it to stay that way. Things could get very bad for me if who I really was got out,” I say to them while looking around the room at the four burly men.
They each give me their word and we move on.
“I received this email a few days ago and did some research. I have no idea why they want it, but thought you all should know. I did hack into your system and downloaded everything to show you just how easy it can be done by a person who knows what they’re doing.”
I pull out a flash drive and place it on the desk.
“Also, I was able to plant a bug on Tony Garza’s computer and made a copy of all his files onto an external hard drive so that you’d be able to see what they had.
I don’t normally get involved, but since meeting you guys this last week and having a history with Riot and Havoc, I wanted to let you all know. ”
“That’s a lot of money to pass up. How do we know that you didn’t already send our information to them?” Brass questions as he skims over the email request.
