Chapter Ten
Xia
The Pearl Paradise, CDS’ private beach resort, Madeira Island...
“Freaking gold-crusted bear balls! These Masters must be more loaded than I ever imagined,” Xia gushed as she stepped into the double-volume entrance lobby of the resort hotel.
Sunlight streamed through floor-to-ceiling windows, dancing across polished marble floors inlaid with intricate geometric patterns.
Chandeliers cascaded from coffered ceilings, their prisms creating rainbow spectrums across cream walls.
Plush leather seating areas invited intimate conversations, while exotic flowers in massive urns perfumed the air with a subtle fragrance.
Good grief, this makes the Ritz look like a motel. Xia spun slowly to take it all in.
“Offering luxury and kink has been a dream of these friends since college days,” Master Coop explained.
“Max DuPont was the forerunner, but it didn’t take much for the rest to buy into his dreams. Don’t fool yourself into believing this fell into their laps because of their background and family wealth.
” He gestured around proudly. “All of this was funded by themselves. Not a cent of family estates or inheritance was used.”
Of course, Rex would be part of something this magnificent. She sighed dreamily before she could squash it.
She noticed Master Coop smiling and had no doubt it was because of the awe still glowing from her face.
“The majority of the members are allocated rooms here as part of their annual fee. Those who prefer more privacy booked and paid an additional fee for the privilege of a beach cottage. The Masters each own beach villas that are a little farther down the bay from the rest.”
“And the staff?” She searched for familiar faces from the flight. “Where do we stay?”
“In the hotel. That’s one of the benefits mentioned. You get the same treatment and food as the guests while on the island... except when you’re on duty. First work, then play. Always remember that, Xia.”
“So, point me in the direction of my room, Master Coop. I need a short nap.” She glanced at him slyly. “Except if I’m allocated another impromptu duty somewhere else.”
“Still miffed at that, aren’t you?” His broad smile met her unfeminine snort. “Follow me, little angel.”
Xia eagerly walked beside him until he headed outside and down a walkway toward the beach. The path wound through manicured tropical gardens and the ocean’s rhythm grew louder with each step.
“Um, did we take a wrong turn? The hotel’s back there.” She looked over her shoulder, longing for the luxurious bed she had been dreaming about since they entered the lobby.
“And had your function not changed, you would have stayed there. As it is, since you are now Master R’s wife whisperer, he prefers you on hand to evaluate the potentials in all aspects of the... er... shall we say... courtship?”
Xia stopped dead. “All aspects? Evaluate? As in... EVERYTHING? Are you saying what I think you are?”
“I’d have to be a psychic to be able to answer that, subbie. A Dominant may be many things, but mind readers we are not.”
“Gmphf, sometimes I’m not so sure about that,” she mumbled. Her feet started to drag at what she imagined awaited her the coming weekend. Suddenly, the previous night faded to nothing other than a powerful Dom splurging the lust from his loins with an available woman.
“So? What are you thinking?”
“He expects me to... to evaluate his potentials during...” Her throat clogged up as her feet planted themselves stubbornly to the ground and refused to move.
“Are you saying he expects me to watch him... with them?” Her voice rose an octave as she glowered at the amused club manager glancing back at her.
“He expects me to watch him having sex with those subs?” she managed in a thin voice.
“Well, since I wasn’t part of the full negotiation of what your function pertains, if it was me, I imagine fucking them would form part of it, yes.
” He shrugged, not bothering to hide the mirth from his gaze.
“I mean, who better than another woman, or more specifically, a wife whisperer, to notice whether a potential wife’s sexuality and reactions are real or fake. ”
“Believe me, a powerful Dom like Master R would know. He wouldn’t need anyone, least of all a supposed wife whisperer, to tell him otherwise.”
One eyebrow crawled upward. “Supposed? Are you saying your claim to read true subs’ emotions was fake?”
“That’s not what I meant, and you know it.” She stomped her foot in irritation, which invited a broad smile from Master Coop. “We both know there is no such thing as a wife whisperer. Rex Oliver made that up. He’s just... just a freaking bear ball-bashing asshole!”
Master Coop folded his arms. For the first time, she noticed just how broad his shoulders and rippling chest were. Her breath hitched at the sight.
Why do all of these damn Doms have to be so freaking fuckalicious? How is a girl supposed to keep her mind focused amid all those muscles and devilish smiles?
“That’s quite the visual you painted with that expression.
” He chuckled as her cheeks warmed. Turning, he shrugged.
“Either way, it’s something you have to discuss with Master R.
I’m sure he’ll spell out all the requirements of your wife whispering duties while we’re on the island.
” He cast a quick glance over his shoulder.
“Which I’m sure includes standing in for sex where they fail to deliver. ”
“I warned him I’ll be no one’s stand-in. You’d be well served to remember that as well, Master Coop.”
“Good to know, and seeing as you are from that viewpoint, be sure to keep a session in the dungeon open for me.”
“F-For you?” Xia stared at him wide-eyed, but there was no mistaking the darkening of his eyes as he returned her look. In front of her stood as powerful a Dom as any of the owner Masters of Club Decadent Skies.
“Yes, Angel. A scene... you and me. Unless you’re holding out for someone else?”
Yes! No! Maybe? Xia’s inner dialogue spiraled.
“B-But... you’re my boss, so that would be... isn’t that against the rules?” Xia was flustered. Rex is clearly on wife hunt 2025. Why stay celibate waiting for what might not happen?
She would love to scene, but the enigmatic man in front of her was the last one she expected to make an offer... to her... chubby little Xia.
“A relationship, yes. Scening and sex, no. The Masters have different rules and keep away from employees, period.” He smiled wryly.
“Master R broke a boundary, which for him is strange. However, I wouldn’t put any meaning to it if I were you, Xia.
He’s adamant to find his wife within the next couple of months, and knowing him, now that he’s set his mind on it, nothing and no one is going to get him off track to get married before Christmas.
” Another shrug. “For all we know, he genuinely only needs your valuable input since he’s in such a rush. ”
“Why is that? Shouldn’t finding your lifemate be done with careful consideration? Why is he in such a hurry to get married?”
“Who knows, but I’d hazard a guess it has to do with the happiness his friends have found in their women. He yearns for the same... and like with everything in his life, he drives his desire with passion and resolve. Believe me... if he wants a wife quickly, he is going to find her.”
“What if it’s the wrong one?”
“Rex has insight very few men have when it comes to women. I sincerely doubt he’ll choose wrong.”
Well, if he doesn’t choose me, he’s fucked, so I’ll just have to make sure none of his potentials make it past first base into his bedroom!
Rex’s beach villa took her breath away. The contemporary structure seemed to float above the landscape, its clean lines softened by natural materials with local stone, rich hardwoods, and vast expanses of glass that reflected the sky.
A wraparound deck offered multiple vantage points to absorb the stunning location.
Below, pristine white sand stretched in both directions, lapped by crystal-clear waters in varying shades of blue.
Palm trees swayed in the gentle breeze, providing natural privacy screens while framing perfect views of the North Atlantic.
The sound of waves created a peaceful backdrop that promised tranquility.
Mind made up, Xia marched past Master Coop. The ocean breeze couldn’t cool her ire as she stepped onto the wraparound patio. It was paradise incarnate. A postcard of peace and romance... and perfect.
This is where he’ll be testing his potential wives, she snorted at her mind supplying the unhelpful detail.
Over my dead body.
That much Xia would make sure of... well, not her dead body, of course... the testing part.
Rex
Rex’s private beach villa, The Pearl Paradise Beach Resort, Madeira Island...
“Ah, you finally arrived. I started wondering if you got lost.” Rex’s voice floated toward her from where he lounged on the chaise lounge next to the pool.
His gaze traipsed over Xia’s curves as she spun to face him.
The taut lines of her body portrayed her vex, coaxing a broad smile from his lips.
“Or that you perhaps decided to ditch your responsibility and return home.”
Her lips flatline. Ah, the little subby was definitely annoyed. The question was whether it was because she woke up alone in his private cabin, or whether she had been informed of one of her duties while on the island. He suspected it was a combination of both.
“I am not a quitter, Mr. Oliver, no matter how much of an asshat my employer is.” Her chin lifted defiantly.
“Except if I read the message wrong. Just say the word, Master R. I’d be too happy to return to the position I was originally appointed for.
I found I still have the knack to mix a mean martini. ”
“That’s true,” Master Coop chipped in. “I watched her and I have to say, her hands paint a symphony when she mixes drinks.”
