Chapter 33

Thirty-Three

Damien

My plan worked.

Not that I’m surprised, of course. I get away with all sorts of shit, but this time, I outdid myself.

Our Vegas apartment smells heavily of vampire sex, all sweet and hot.

A glorious mix of tangerine, honey, and musky maple syrup.

It’s a recurring event by now; Jacob has been coming to visit us for weeks.

As I lie on my back, nestled between Killien’s and Jacob’s naked bodies, I can still feel their blood burning and tickling every corner of my insides.

I feel heavy on the soft mattress, as if I’m floating in a cloud of soft white fabrics.

Like everything else in this place, it’s comfortable and luxurious.

The bedroom is all modern hardwood floors, pristine white walls, a tall tufted headboard upholstered in black velvet, and black bedside tables with white marble tops. The calm and quiet that surrounds us almost lulls me to sleep, but I’m not tired enough.

Too bad Jacob is fast asleep, his heavy head resting on my right shoulder.

Killien, however, is just as awake as I am.

The tips of his fingers are drawing gentle circles on top of my hip bone.

I’ve been trying to ignore his touch, because it makes me hard.

I can never have enough of him. I’m dangerously addicted.

Killien’s soft ginger hair tickles my face as he makes himself comfortable, dragging his fingers up my waist until they rest on my neck.

His beautiful brown eyes wander around my face, almost like he’s trying to memorize every single detail of my features.

My heart warms up each time; no one has ever looked at me the way Killien does.

I place my hand under his chin and pull him in for a soft kiss. How could I not, when his eyes seem to glisten and burn with affection? It’s the type of thing that has nothing to do with vampire blood and its power; it’s just pure love.

As much as I like it when his irises glow in a beautiful array of brown and amber shades with hints of gold, I prefer the glistening darkness in them right now.

It brings back something primal in me. It’s the consuming urge to possess him that has always been there, the overpowering admiration and desire for the only person who cared about me.

My protector, my guide, my everything. Killien is my whole world. And he’s mine.

It’s us against the world.

“You’re frowning . . .” Killien whispers, once again inspecting my features like he’s Sherlock Holmes or something.

I pull him in for another kiss, gripping his jaw so tight that I might just leave a bruise behind.

But that’s fine. I can do that, because he belongs to me, and it will fade away fast, anyway.

Killien doesn’t protest. He just melts into my touch, like he always does, and parts his lips to let my tongue in.

His sweet tangerine essence is coated in a layer of Jacob’s blood, or cum—same thing. It lights my senses on fire, making my heart race. I still can’t believe we’re sharing Jacob. It’s a fucking fantasy, all of it.

Killien pulls back gently, freeing himself from my fingers on his chin. He smiles and adjusts his hardening dick, which makes me chuckle. If we keep going, we’re gonna wake up Jacob with a cock in his mouth or something. Better let him rest. For now, at least.

“Killi?” I say softly.

“Yes, baby?”

Fuck . . . I still melt when he calls me that. I’m so weak for this man, I swear.

Clearing my throat, I try to stay focused. There’s an idea that has been roaming my mind for the past week or so. I’m not sure if he’ll agree to it right away, but I wanna give it a shot. At least to test the waters and see which will be the right way to convince him.

“Don’t you think we should start hunting again?” I attempt to offer him an angelic smile, though I’m not sure I’m pulling it off.

“You want to drink human blood?” He chuckles, raising one of his dark eyebrows.

“It’s not about the blood.”

Killien goes quiet for a few seconds, processing my words. The sight of him is almost incredible. He seems to glow as the late afternoon sun that shines through the floor-to-ceiling window hits his back. A literal ginger angel, that’s what he looks like right now.

“You sure we should get involved in all that again?” he asks.

“Well, I’m starting to feel like I’ll burst into flames if I don’t let my demons out to play . . .” I shrug, making Jacob’s head slide closer to my armpit. His breath tickles me, but I don’t mind. “So, yeah. I need to do something with my darkness before I snap. I’m way too good when I’m with you.”

He laughs at that, taking a minute to stare at the modern black chandelier hanging from the ceiling while he ponders. “Fine, let’s start by figuring out how we’re gonna go about it.” The corners of Killien’s lips curve up softly, making my heart skip a beat.

“Yes!” I wiggle like the little brat I am, waking up Jacob in the process. I’m too excited to care, though. “You’re the best, Killi, always sacrificing yourself for me.”

“I don’t sacrifice myself.” Killien shakes his head while his hand cups my cheek. “I do what I have to do to keep you safe—to make sure my perfect little brother stays perfect.”

I almost swoon at his words.

He thinks I’m perfect? Me? The manipulating brat? The bloodthirsty killer who drags him into all sorts of trouble?

“Is this conversation necessary right now?” Jacob stares at us with hooded eyes, his voice raspy. “I’d like to sleep a bit longer, if you don’t mind—the drive back to Phoenix is rather long.”

“Oh come on, Jacob,” I tease and tickle his waist. “You’re a vampire, for fuck’s sake! Who needs sleep?”

“I do,” he laughs. “You two have drained me. Seriously. You always do.”

I can see Killien’s cheeks blushing through the corner of my eye. He’s so precious, getting all flustered because of Jacob. I love that he tries to act unbothered, but I know he’s really into our new toy. He’d been wanting a taste of Jacob’s dick for months, I’m sure of it.

“Maybe we should drive you back to Phoenix, then,” I say. “There’s a little matter I should attend to there, anyway.”

“We’re not going back to Phoenix!” Killien says.

Yeah, he knows exactly what I’m talking about.

Caleb, his human lover. I should find him and make sure he won’t be trying to get close to what’s mine again.

It could be just a tiny little threat, or it could be his end.

Who knows? I don’t care if Killien says they haven’t spoken since we moved.

The human must have fallen in love with my brother anyway. How could he not?

“Well, brother, you left something behind that needs fixing,” I say.

“There’s nothing to fix, Damien. It’s over.” The fact that Killien cares about this human enrages me, but it’s also very amusing. “You should be thankful for Caleb, anyway.”

Excuse me? Thankful? For that bitch? Oh, hell no.

“Are you out of your mind, Killi?!” I grab his chin again and pull his face closer to mine, making sure it hurts. “He stole your virginity from me!”

Killien rolls his eyes, but doesn’t try to pull away. “Come on, I wasn’t a virgin. And it’s not like I was your first man either.”

“Oh, shit . . .” Jacob laughs beside me, the silky white sheets ruffling as he rests his weight on his right elbow.

“But you weren’t even into men before!” I protest. “It’s not the same, Killi. I’ve been dating guys since I was like fourteen.”

“Jesus Christ . . .” My brother rolls his eyes again, moving his attention towards Jacob after. They share a complicit look that I don’t find very funny. Although it’s cute as hell.

“Who the hell is Caleb, anyway?” Jacob asks, sitting up on the bed and raising his eyebrows at us.

“His human whore!”

“What? You were dating a human?” Jacob’s eyes widen in a mixture of shock and amusement as he stares at my brother. Fucker, he’s so cute with that half smile on his lips.

“We weren’t dating, just barely hooking up,” Killien says, still letting my fingers dig painfully into his jaw. “It was something I did when I couldn’t come to terms with my feelings . . .”

“That’s not a valid excuse! You should have come to my bed, not found some copycat version of me to fuck, Killien.”

“Copycat?” Jacob’s half smile turns into a full mischievous grin. “You mean that Caleb looks like Damien? I can’t believe this . . .”

“Just leave Caleb alone, it was my mistake. He didn’t do anything wrong.” Killien sighs, dodging Jacob’s question.

“I’ll have to look around for your stunt double.” Jacob looks right into my eyes as he tickles my waist, and we both laugh. Not that I’m really amused by what he just said, but I can’t help it.

“Don’t you fucking dare,” I warn him, although my threat doesn’t land properly, since I’m still laughing like a prick.

Jacob gets off the bed, his naked body exposed for us in all its glory. Killien and I go silent for a minute, watching him pick up his clothes from the wooden floor and stroll towards the bathroom clad in white marble. He’s all muscles, ink, and long, messy almost-black hair.

The tattoo on his back is probably my favorite. An abstract piece of twisting and morphing black shapes that fade into smoke as they reach his shoulders. On the small of his back, there’s a broken anatomic heart, from which the black shapes emerge. It’s stunning, like the rest of him.

I wanna drag him back into bed with us for another round of blood and cock sucking.

Almost like I don’t want Jacob to leave.

He’s been here all weekend, participating in my wicked games.

Each time he leaves, I find myself wishing he lived closer.

Maybe he could move his tattoo shop to Vegas, so we can see him more often.

What’s left for him in Phoenix, anyway? A small group of friends that he barely hangs out with?

I look at my brother, whose eyes are lingering on Jacob’s naked ass. I think he might agree with me. No, I’m sure he does.

An evil grin extends across my face.

“Leaving so soon?” I ask, making Jacob stop in his tracks under the doorway to the ensuite. His silhouette sticks out from the pristine white walls of our room. Killien should thank me for a few more seconds of that perfect ass on full display for him.

“I have clients tomorrow, honey,” he says. My heart contracts painfully when he calls me that. I think he knows, and does it on purpose to get back at me. Which I may or may not deserve.

“You’d have more clients if your shop was here in Vegas . . .” I can feel Killien’s eyes on me the moment I say those words, but I don’t look away from Jacob’s majestic back.

“What?” he asks, turning his head slightly to stare at me over his shoulder.

“Well, it’s a different kind of city, you know?” I say matter-of-factly. “I bet your business would grow a lot in a place like Vegas. It’s like a playground, there are so many opportunities to explore. And . . . we’re here.”

Killien is grinning beside me, turning his attention to the naked creature that feels so damn good stuck between us. I knew he’d be on board, of course. He’s really into the game we’re playing here. He’s into all my games, even if he tries to pretend not to.

“What are you suggesting?” Jacob’s dark gaze is fixed on my eyes, and I can’t help but bite my lower lip at the intensity of it.

“Damien’s right,” Killien says, his excitement obvious in the tone of his voice.

It might work in our favor, though, because Jacob has a thing for him.

It’s different from his feelings towards me, and it’s not tarnished by betrayal.

“Why don’t you move to Vegas? You could start over, open your shop here.

There’s a lot for our kind in this city, and we’d be much closer. ”

Jacob’s eyes soften the second they land on Killien, just like I imagined they would.

He’s still bitter about what I did, but that doesn’t affect the way he feels about my brother.

Their bond is new, and it’s blossoming beautifully right in front of my eyes.

The sexual tension between them is freaking delicious; they don’t want to let go. And, honestly, neither do I.

I thought I’d be jealous of Killien being with another vampire, but it turns out I just love watching him. As long as the boundaries are clear and certain things remain exclusive to us, of course.

The silence stretches for a few seconds too long, but it’s not uncomfortable.

We give Jacob time to ponder his options while I grab Killien’s hand and hold it in mine.

He rests his head on my shoulder as we continue to stare at the heavily tattooed Adonis who stands naked in our bedroom.

Maybe we should take a picture, print it, and hang it on the wall.

“I’ll think about it,” Jacob says, finally breaking the silence.

As he walks into the bathroom, I turn to Killien and mouth the words got him. He giggles softly and kisses my neck. My precious ginger angel has become my partner in crime. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

To be continued . . .
