Chapter 41
Chapter Forty-One
Harrison
Damn it. Seeing her in that towel sent my cock into a fit of rage. I craved being inside her, and I desperately missed her body. What I missed most was the feeling of how her skin trembled beneath my fingers. God, I was so horny. What I wouldn’t give to be with her right now, to feel, touch, and taste her. I was getting hard. Shit. There was a knock on my bedroom door, and when I opened it, Adalyn stood there in her black nightshirt.
“Listen.” She pushed past me. “I’m pregnant.”
“I can see that.” I smiled.
“And I haven’t had sex since the last time we did it, and my hormones are out of control and I’m horny, like really horny. So horny I feel like I’m going to burst.”
I walked over to her and ran the back of my hand down her cheek.
“Do you need my assistance?” I grinned.
“Yes. If you wouldn’t mind helping a pregnant woman out.”
“It would be my pleasure.” I leaned in and brushed her lips against mine.
I rolled off her and onto my back, trying desperately to catch my breath. Holy shit, she was wild. Trust me, I wasn’t complaining, but damn, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I glanced over at her with a smile and brushed a strand of hair from her face.
“Feel better now?”
“Much.” She grinned as she sat up, pulled on her nightshirt, and then got up from the bed.
“Where are you going?” I asked in confusion.
“To my room.”
“Why? Just stay here, in my room.”
“Harrison, we had casual sex. You know the rules.” She walked out and shut the door.
I lay there in disappointment with my hands tucked behind my head. She pulled a “me,” and I didn’t like it one bit.
Adalyn
Damn, that was good. So good that my body was still trembling. I climbed into bed and pulled the covers up. Lying on my side, I tucked my hand beneath the pillow and drifted peacefully asleep.
The next morning, I stumbled out of bed and headed to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. When the elevator doors opened, the aroma of French toast smacked me in the face.
“Good morning.” Harrison smiled.
“Morning. Are you making breakfast?”
“I am.”
“As amazing as it smells, I just came down for a cup of coffee. I need to get ready and head over to Carina’s.”
“You’re not going anywhere, and I hope you’re having decaf.”
“What?” My brows furrowed. “Why am I not going anywhere?”
“Look at it outside. We’re snowed in.”
“Yeah right.” I laughed as I walked over to the window. “Where the fuck did that come from? I heard nothing about a snowstorm coming.”
“The weatherman said it came out of nowhere, and they have no explanation for it.”
“So, we’re stuck in here all day?” I asked.
“Yep. All day. So sit down and enjoy this delicious French toast I’ve prepared.” He smiled as he set the plate down on the island.
“Who are you? I didn’t even know you could cook.”
“I can a little. How are you feeling this morning?”
“Fine.” I shoved a piece of French toast in my mouth. “Actually, I’m starving, so keep that French toast coming.”
After breakfast, I helped him clean up the kitchen, and then he went up to his study to do some work. He wasn’t up there five minutes before he came back down.
“The internet is down.” He sighed.
“Seriously?”
“Yep. So I can’t do any work until it comes back up.”
“Are you cold? It feels like it’s getting colder in here by the second,” I said.
“It is a little chilly. Let me check the thermostat. Great. Adalyn, flip the light switch.”
I walked over to the wall and hit the switch. Nothing.
“The powers out. I have some blankets in the closet. I’ll go grab them,” he said.
He walked down with the blankets and sat next to me on the couch, covering me with them to ensure I kept warm.
“We’re snowed in. We have no power and no heat. What else could go wrong?” He sighed.
