CHAPTER 31 THE END

“Huh? Why are you asking that? Aren’t we already married?” Lucian said.

Rayne glanced down, grabbing his clothes and continuing to fold them. “No, it’s just that I suddenly remembered you didn’t want to have any sexual relationship with me… that’s why.”

Hearing that, Lucian’s face fell. He knew he had said things he hadn’t even meant back then. Letting out a deep sigh, he spoke,

“I didn’t mean it like that. I explained what I really meant afterward, didn’t I? I was just worried about you. And I like you, so why wouldn’t I want that kind of relationship with you? Of course I do.”

Rayne’s cheeks turned red. Anyone would feel shy hearing something like that from their partner. He didn’t look up, remaining in the same position as he packed his bag.

They dropped the idea of going shopping since they could buy clothes after reaching the beach.

Once Rayne was done, he placed the luggage aside and stretched his arms upward, his neck creaking slightly. His body had become stiff from sitting on the ground for so long. But as he stretched, his eyes landed on Lucian.

Lucian was staring at his waist.

Rayne looked down and realized that while stretching, his T-shirt had lifted, exposing his bare waist. He quickly pulled it down and gulped.

Lucian also snapped out of it, realizing he had been staring.

“I think I need a coffee right now,” he said, quickly rushing out of the room.

Rayne chuckled at that. Sitting down on the bed, he looked toward the door, his heart beating faster than usual. It didn’t always happen when he was with Lucian, but today felt different, like his life was slowly changing for the better.

And for the first time, he had seen Lucian blush.

Lucian had always been bold, so this side of him was new… and surprisingly nice.

“I guess we can fall in love again. Who says we can’t, even after being betrayed?” Rayne mumbled under his breath.

He slid his hair back behind his ears, took a deep breath, and leaned back against the bed. Staring at the ceiling, he slowly closed his eyes.

A few days later, they got ready to leave for their honeymoon.

One day later.

“Wow… this is beautiful,” Rayne said, staring at the beach.

On their way to the hotel, Lucian had stopped the car when they saw the ocean stretching endlessly before them.

“Good thing I stopped the car,” Lucian said. “But Rayne, I think we should go to the hotel first and change before heading to the beach.”

Even though Rayne wanted to run straight into the water, he wasn’t wearing swimming clothes, so he nodded and got back into the car. Lucian started driving again.

After a while, they reached their destination. But when Rayne stepped out, he froze.

This wasn’t a hotel. It was a villa, standing beautifully in front of them, with the beach just beyond it.

It was beyond anything he had imagined. Rayne walked toward the villa, then turned back to Lucian with wide, surprised eyes.

“Is this our villa? Are we staying here? I thought you booked a hotel room… this is amazing!”

“I thought you’d like it,” Lucian said, scratching his head.

They went inside, and after changing, Rayne excitedly explored every corner of the villa. Soon, he remembered the beach and decided to head out,

But Lucian was nowhere to be seen.

That’s why Rayne went to Lucian’s room. He knew there were many rooms in the villa, so both of them had placed their luggage in separate ones.

He knocked on the door. After a few seconds, it finally opened, And Rayne froze.

Lucian stood in front of him, completely bare except for a towel wrapped around his waist.

For a moment, Rayne forgot how to breathe.

Lucian looked… dangerously good. And the fact that this was their honeymoon made it even harder for Rayne to control his expression.

His gaze slowly dropped to Lucian’s abs as he gulped, completely forgetting that Lucian wasn’t blind,he could clearly see him staring.

A smirk formed on Lucian’s lips as he looked down at Rayne, who was practically staring like a hungry cat.

“Ahem… have you stared enough?” Lucian asked.

Rayne flinched, snapping out of it. Realizing what he had been doing, he quickly glanced up,only to find Lucian already watching him.

Flustered, Rayne tried to step back, but his foot slipped, And he fell forward. Right into Lucian’s arms.

His face pressed against Lucian’s chest, and he could hear his heartbeat, fast and uneven.

That made Rayne look up. Lucian’s face… it clearly showed how nervous he was.

Rayne’s hands rested against Lucian’s chest. “Lucian, are you okay? Why is your heart beating so fast? Are you feeling unwell?” he asked.

Lucian quickly covered his mouth, glancing away as if avoiding eye contact.

“Rayne, you wanted to go to the beach, didn’t you? Let’s go once I’m done changing. You go and look around until then.”

Holding Rayne by the shoulders, Lucian turned him around and gently pushed him forward before quickly closing the door.

The moment the door shut, Lucian looked down.

“…Seriously?”

His lower body had already reacted.

“Why is he so cute… fuck, I need to take care of this first,” he muttered under his breath before heading straight to the bathroom.

After a while, Lucian stepped out wearing shorts and a white beach-print shirt. The buttons were open, exposing his bare chest, and the shirt hung loosely off his shoulders, barely staying in place.

He walked into the living room, And stopped. Rayne was standing near the door, looking out toward the beach.

He wore an oversized blue T-shirt and shorts. The long shirt made his already slender body look even softer, his waist slim and delicate.

Lucian swallowed.

At that moment, Rayne turned around to check if Lucian was ready, and saw him standing there.

Even though he was surprised by Lucian’s appearance, he didn’t show it on his face.

“Lucian, you’re here. Let’s go to the beach,I want to swim right now.”

They stepped out of the villa.

The beach in front of it was part of the private property. It wasn’t completely isolated, as other nearby villas shared the same shoreline, but it was far from crowded like a public beach.

Rayne ran ahead toward the sea.

He dipped his feet into the water, smiling as the small waves brushed against his skin. Even that simple touch made him feel refreshed.

He didn’t notice Lucian quietly approaching from behind.

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around his waist,

And in the next second, Lucian lifted him and threw him straight into the water.

“Lucian!” Rayne splashed, immediately turning toward him.

Lucian stepped into the water with a grin.

Rayne didn’t waste a second. He grabbed Lucian and tried to pull him down,

And this time, he succeeded. Lucian fell into the water easily… almost too easily.

In fact, he had loosened his body on purpose, letting Rayne win.

“Hahaha, that’s what you get for messing with me, Lucian. So next time, don’t even try,” Rayne said proudly.

Lucian only smiled, still sitting in the water. Suddenly, he grabbed Rayne’s hand and pulled him onto his lap. The waves crashed gently behind them, splashing water over their bodies.

Because of the waves, Rayne instinctively wrapped his arms around Lucian’s neck.

For a moment, they just looked at each other.

Then Rayne leaned in and pressed his lips against Lucian’s.

He pulled back slightly, but before he could say anything,

Lucian’s hand moved to the back of his neck, pulling him closer as he deepened the kiss. His grip tightened, and the kiss grew more intense, leaving Rayne breathless.

“Mmm…” Rayne melted into it, responding without hesitation.

But suddenly, ucian broke the kiss. His expression changed, as if he had done something wrong.

“Why did you stop, Lucian?” Rayne asked softly.

“I don’t want to scare you,” Lucian replied, his voice low. “If I lose control… I might not be able to stop. Let’s save this for later.”

But Rayne didn’t want to stop.

For the first time, he felt safe… comfortable.

Lucian’s touch wasn’t frightening,it was warm. It made him forget everything painful from the past.

Slowly, Rayne leaned in and pressed soft kisses along Lucian’s neck.

That alone was enough to shake Lucian’s control.

His arms tightened around Rayne as he pulled him closer again, kissing him deeply, with a hunger he could no longer hide.

Rayne’s breathing turned uneven, his fingers clutching onto Lucian as he struggled to keep up.

Without another word, Lucian stood up, lifting Rayne with him, holding him close as he carried him back toward the villa.

The night that followed was filled with overwhelming emotions neither of them tried to hold back.

Next morning.

Rayne lay in Lucian’s arms, both of them wrapped under the blanket. Faint marks covered his skin, while Lucian’s back carried light scratches.

Rayne slowly opened his eyes. As he tried to move, a sharp soreness ran through his body, making him pause.

He hissed slightly in pain. That was enough to wake Lucian.

Lucian immediately sat up and pulled him closer. “Good morning, Rayne… how are you feeling? Does it still hurt?” he asked, concern clear in his voice.

Rayne gave him a look. “Whose fault is that? I told you to stop after three times, but you didn’t listen. And you even marked me… you were completely different last night.”

Lucian smiled softly, a little guilty, but satisfied. He had already taken care of Rayne afterward, making sure he was comfortable before they fell asleep.

Now, there was no tension left between them.

Even though Rayne had suffered so much in the past, Lucian slowly filled those cracks with love and care. And for the first time, Rayne truly felt like he could be happy.
