Chapter 19
Fantasy
Lila
Strong hands clasp tightly around my waist, a muscular, hard, warm, naked body presses me back against the wall as moist lips trail wet kisses down my neck and shoulders. A moan escapes my lips, as those hands slide down my hips to cup my ass, grinding me into his hardness.
I look down, sliding my fingers into a full head of silky, chocolate brown hair, gripping tight, as full, soft lips burn a searing path down to my sensitive breasts. The hands leave my ass to trail up my hips, sliding up my belly to cup my full breasts. Thumbs flick against my tight nipples and I moan, pressing harder against his hands. Understanding what I want, he squeezes them, burying his face between the full mounds as he nuzzles his face from side to side. Heat shoots straight between my legs and I feel moisture drip down my thighs as he suckles a nipple deep into his mouth.
A deep moan escapes my lips as I throw my head back and wrap my hands around his, helping to push my breasts up even more, wantonly putting myself on display as I wordlessly beg for him to do with me as he pleases. I thrash around at the sweet torture as he pops a wet nipple out of his mouth and turns his attention to sucking on the other.
God, he knows exactly how to touch my body. Lust stronger than anything I’ve ever felt is coursing through my veins; the only thing I’m conscious of is him. I groan in frustration as his lips stop their sweet torture of my nipples, but gasp as they start making their way down my belly. Soft kisses continue to pepper their way down.
I stop thinking again when those hands make their way up my thighs slowly, pulling them apart as he does. My breath in anticipation of the moment when his fingers finally reach where I need them most.
He slowly starts to pull down the flimsy material of my silk panties, and I shiver at the rasp of the small callus on his hands as it scrapes against my skin. I’m throbbing and wet, completely naked and open to him.
Just when I think he’s going to touch me where I’m craving it most, he slides up my body till he reaches my lips and takes them in a soul stealing kiss. He inhales my moan, taking advantage of my open mouth to suck my tongue deep into his mouth. I tangle my fingers into his hair again, kissing him back greedily as I rub my nipples against the faint hairs on his chest. My body is on fire and only he can put out the flames.
We break apart to finally take a breath, and in the faint glow of the dark room, I see his face for the first time. Eyes so familiar I know them now like I know my own stare back at me, lust and mischief dancing within their orbs.
Cole?
A smirk lifts up one corner of his lips as his eyes bore into mine, his fingers trailing up my thighs. I stare at him, unable to break away from his hypnotic gaze, my mouth parting at the anticipation he’s building within me. His hands crawl very slowly now, stopping mere few inches from my throbbing center.
I groan in frustration, but then he turns, dipping his head to lick a nipple.
I gasp, almost losing my balance at the sensation.
His hot tongue swirls around the sensitive nipple, pulling it back into his wet mouth, suckling and driving me wild with need. With one hand, I wedge myself against the wall, and the other hand slips into his hair, holding him firmly against my breasts.
Just when I think I might explode from the frustration of not getting touched where I need it most, he places his hand under my ass, hoisting me up against his body. I instinctively wrap my legs around his waist and my hands around his muscular shoulders while he walks us slowly to the bed in the corner of the room.
He sets me down softly on it, not leaving me for a second as his warm, naked body covers mine, and I greedily run my hands over the muscled smoothness, down to the firm mounds of his butt. His mouth resumes its torture of my breasts, taking one hard nipple into his mouth, while his hands slide up and down my thighs. I raise my hips to make it easier for him, eyes shut tightly in bliss and anticipation.
His mouth releases my nipples with a pop, making me shudder as he starts trailing kisses down my stomach, dipping his tongue into my belly button, just before he finally gets to my center.
He blows softly on me, just before his tongue finally dips in to have a taste of my wetness.
An animalistic scream escapes my lips, my spine arching off the bed as my head falls back. Instinctively, my fingers tangle in his hair, holding his head against me as I grind myself against his face in ecstasy. He sucks and licks on the wet, swollen mound, occasionally stroking it slowly with his tongue, but always stopping right when I’m on the edge.
I groan in frustration, after what feels like the tenth time. Trying to hold him against me.
He chuckles softly, finally lifting himself up and crawling back up to my face, his lips glistening with my wetness.
“You ready for me, princess?” he asks. I can feel his thickness throbbing against my wet entrance just waiting to get in.
“Yes!” I moan. I’m ready for anything he wants to do to me right now.
He positions himself and—
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
My eyes fly open.
I gasp, my entire body shooting up in the bed, drenched with sweat.
I stare at the familiar walls of my bedroom trying to calm my racing heart, as reality kicks in and I try to wrap my head around what just happened.
Did…did I just have a dream about Cole Matthews?
My hard, sensitive nipples and pulsing center tell me that I definitely had a very wet dream about him.
Where the hell did that come from?
I blame Jo for this.
A glance at the small alarm clock sitting on my table shows 8:37 A.M.
8:37?
Shit!
I jump out of bed, heading straight for the bathroom, already pulling the clothes off my body. I’m supposed to be halfway out of the house by now!
I’m supposed to be scouting out some potential venues for the Valentine’s ball with Cole today.
After what was probably the Guinness record for short showers, I dress in a form-fitting black turtleneck dress, letting my brown hair cascade down my back in gentle waves. I put on some warm brown shadow and bronze eyeliner that brings out the blue in my eyes. I swipe on some mascara, blush, and gloss, stepping back to admire my work.
Grabbing my phone off the nightstand, I scroll through my contacts until I find the name that I’m looking for. He picks up on the second ring.
“Hello?” his deep baritone voice sends a shiver straight to my core. I have a flashback to my earlier dream, and I rotate my shoulders to shake it off, smoothing my hands down my breasts to calm my suddenly tight nipples.
“Hello, Cole,” I greet. “I’ve narrowed down possible venues for the ball to two options. I think they’re both great, but it would help to have another pair of eyes to check them out,” I say, hoping the message is clear.
“What did you have in mind with these venues?” he asks.
“I think it’s better if I show you. Can you meet me on Newbury? I’d like to get your feedback. Would help with the decision making.”
“Okay. I’ll meet you there in thirty minutes,” he says simply.
“Great. See you there,” I say, right before hanging up.
I stand at the side of the street, waiting for Cole. It’s only been twenty-five minutes, but as the time for me to see him draws closer, the bundle of nerves that has formed low in my stomach seems to tighten.
Suddenly, I see a familiar, tall figure emerging from a black Range Rover that is parked by the side of the road.
“Took you long enough,” I say, even though I know he’s technically a little early.
“I’m sorry. Have you been waiting very long?” he asks, brows creasing slightly.
“Doesn’t matter. Come on,” I say dismissively, walking to stand just in front of the Coral. I’ve come here once before to check out the venue for another event I planned a while back, but this will be the first time I actually step into the building.
“What are we looking at?” Cole asks, fingers elegantly tucked into the pocket of his pants as he stares up at the seven floors of the Coral.
“The Coral. They have a great hall that is probably the best venue for the event. I figured we’d start off with the bigger details and work our way down to the little things.”
“Okay, what do you like about this one?” he asks.
“Well, let’s start with the most obvious,” I say.
“And what would that be?”
“Availability. Things book up quickly around here, and originally Sue and I were going to keep our usual spot, but at the last minute we decided we wanted to shake it up a bit and do something different. Keep it fresh. That didn’t leave us with many options.”
“Hmm. I can see how that would make things tricky,” he says, still staring up at the building.
“The best part about this place though, besides the fact that it’s available, is it’s also literally perfect for the job,” I finish with a smile, already getting excited to show him everything.
“How so?” he asks, brows cocked inquisitively at me.
“Come with me. I’ll show you,” I say, leading him into the building.
“Hello,” I greet the young blonde woman sitting behind the reception counter.
“Hello,” she responds, fingers still tapping away at the keyboard in front of her, with barely a glance my way.
“I spoke to your manager earlier. He said I could take a look at the event hall upstairs for an event we’re looking to do in a few weeks.”
“Sure thing. What’s your name, miss?” she asks.
“Lila Smith,” Cole’s deep baritone voice answers from behind me before the words can leave my mouth. Much like me, the receptionist freezes at the sound of his voice, her fingers pausing their typing.
Her eyes widens as she greedily stares at Cole, her jaw almost hitting the floor. I can’t say I blame her. Dressed in a casual black blazer with a tight black turtleneck showing off his broad shoulders and thick neck, and black pants with a slim Gucci belt, he looks like sex on a stick. It was a struggle for me too when my eyes first landed on him today.
She flips her hair over her shoulder coyly, her voice instantly becoming very high pitched.
“Uh—good morning. I didn’t see you standing there,” she smiles a little too brightly at him, completely ignoring me like I’m invisible.
“No problem at all. Would you check that out for us, please? Lila Smith?” Cole says to her, leaning forward on the counter, a wide smile showing off the dimples in his cheeks.
I can’t help rolling my eyes, but inside my chest constricts. He’s shamelessly flirting with her.
Not that I care what he does.
“No problem, just go on up,” she smiles at him, twirling a lock of hair around her finger, without even checking her computer.
“Thank you,” Cole turns back to give her another one of his charming smiles as he leads me towards the staircase. I ball my hands into fists, resisting the urge to childishly smack his hand away off the small of my back as he leads me forward.
We make our way up three flights of stairs, finally reaching the large mahogany door that separates us from the hall. I stand there, trying to catch my breath from the hasty walk up here, regretting not taking the elevator.
I feel his warmth beside me, and when I look up at his face, I can’t help but smile at his expression. It reminds me of exactly how I felt when I first saw pictures of this place. It’s even better in real life. More beautiful than anything the cameras could’ve captured. From the nude-colored walls to the stylish drapes that hang to the side of the hall, even to the little bar area in the back. Everything down to the gorgeous chandeliers that swing from the high ceiling is a masterpiece.
Even standing empty right now, I can imagine the final look will be like something straight out of a fairytale by the time I’m done with this place.
“How have I attended so many events, but never been to this place?” Cole asks, speaking more to himself than me as his eyes roam the hall.
“Sometimes, little wonders are always in the places we least expect them to be,” I shrug.
“It’s beautiful,” he says softly, eyes glued to the vast space that stretches out in front of us, so full of possibility.
“That’s exactly what I thought too when I first saw pictures of it. Then I instantly started thinking about the ways we could tailor it to fit our event. The possibilities are endless, because it’s basically perfect just the way it is. If you want to compare, I also have another location that we could check out and see if—”
“I don’t think we need to see anything else,” he cuts me off.
“Are you sure?”
“I’m sure. I can’t imagine we’ll find anything better than this, Lila. It’s the perfect place to bring the ball to life. I’ve been to every one of them and I can tell you with all certainty that with this venue, this will be the very best one yet.”
I pause for a second, completely stunned by his words. I didn’t think Cole Matthews had it in him to say any kind words to me, but I guess I was wrong. An unfamiliar warmth blossoms in my chest, and I can’t help the smile that pulls at the corners of my lips, his words tugging at my heart strings.
“Well, would you look at that? You and I, finally agreeing on something. I never thought I’d see the day,” I chuckle.
“Me neither, yet here we are,” he smiles, gesturing with a flourish around the empty hall.
“Here we are,” I nod.
“Maybe working on this event together won’t be the worst thing after all,” he smirks.
My smile instantly drops at the reminder of our mission here. I have a mission of my own. I told Sue to trust me, and I can’t let her down. I’ve gotta figure out a way to find out what Greg has been up to.
“I wouldn’t go as far as that,” I say, my voice strained once again.
Now that we’ve got the venue checked out, we can move on to other things.
“Let’s get out of here,” I mutter, already walking out of the hall before he can say another word.
