Chapter Thirty-Six

Tommy

It’s been a few days since we got home from the hospital. Everyone left for Bewdley yesterday apart from Jenson. He has taken over from the security I’d hired, bringing his own team of specialists from his old job. Even Jenson can’t wrap his head around how much of a conniving bastard Jake is.

There is only one sure way to catch him that we can think of, to use Maya as bait and that is out of the question. I would never deliberately put my girl in danger, even if it was our only shot at catching him.

Jenson is renting a place in the village a few minutes away for now rather than moving in with us. I did offer for him to stay with us, but he just smirked and said no.

I can’t say I blame him, Me and Maya are like rabbits, I can’t get enough of her. I think the Jake situation has really scared her this time and using my body seems to help her forget and who am I to say no? My girl can use me anyway she wants.

The new group of security men aren’t as discrete as the ones I had employed but it doesn’t bother either of us.

It feels good to know that they’re there and she’s protected but fuck me, they are loud.

You can tell they’re old friends from the amount of boisterous laughter that comes from the outhouse.

If I didn’t know Jenson and how much he respects this group of men, I wouldn’t have thought them to be any good.

Maya is sleeping as it’s still early and I didn’t want to disturb her. My morning run the past few weeks has been doing laps around my land, I don’t want to leave her alone, even with the security here. I just feel better knowing I’m in her space right now.

Although I love being here with her, the cabin fever is really starting to kick in. What I would give to jet away to one of my other properties abroad. Just for a break in the sun and away from all this madness, with Maya of course.

My dick twitches at the thought of Maya in a bikini, relaxing around the pool. Or naked, naked would be ten times better. Maybe I should book us somewhere as a surprise for her. I could even ask the gang if they wanted to come.

My mind is dreaming up scenarios when there’s a quiet knock at the door. Who would be at the door at this time in the morning? No one has buzzed the gate so it must be one of the lads. Anxiety churns my stomach, they would only be here for one reason and I hope it’s a good one.

Swinging the door open, I’m greeted by Samuel and Nathan. “Hey boss, sorry to disturb you so early, are you free to talk?” Nathan asks, noticeably keeping his voice low. “Wanna come over to our place for a chat?”

“Yes, give me a sec.” I turn to grab my shoes and keys before following them out the door. “Is everything okay?” I ask.

Samuel gives Nathan a look before answering. “I think it’s best you wait until we’re inside.”

Well, shit. This can’t be good.

I walk into their new home, noting how tidy it is for a bunch of rowdy lads.

Clothes placed in pristine piles by each bed.

I’ve tried to make it feel as comfortable as possible for the four of them without building any new walls.

It’s all open plan, bar the bathroom. There are four single beds, two deep couches, a kitchenette and pool table.

The only new things I’ve added are the beds and supplies.

George and Freddie are already sat on the couch, I take the other one as Samuel and Nathan pull up a stool each. These men are fucking huge. I run each morning and work out but they are something else. I wouldn’t like to get on the wrong side of them.

“What’s going on?” I ask, getting straight to the point.

Freddie, the one who seems to be in charge speaks first. “Approximately four hours ago, someone remotely tried to hack into the alarm system and security gate. We take shifts through the night, so someone is always here and alerted, as soon as the alert went out, we scanned the property whilst Samuel stopped the hacker from gaining entry.”

My hands clench into fists on my knees so hard I’m surprised steam isn’t coming out of my ears. That little fucker.

Freddie continues. “We’re under the impression that he isn’t working alone, one man couldn’t have managed to do all of that but also, after scouting the grounds and streets we realised there is no one around so they must be doing it from somewhere else.”

“I went in as far as I could but couldn’t find any IP address or traces to go off. Whoever it is knows exactly what they’re doing. They knew how to cover their tracks against the likes of us,” Samuel adds, looking visually annoyed. They don’t seem like the kind of people to get stumped this easily.

I’m dying to know what he meant by the likes of them, but every time I have tried to ask Jenson, he got really defensive over it so I let it drop.

“So basically someone has tried to break in but we don’t know who? And that you managed to stop them?” I ask.

“Basically, yeah,” Freddie shrugs. “We know for definite that they didn’t gain any access, but they’re a smart fucker. It wont be long until they try again.”

“What do we do for now?” I ask eagerly. I won’t let Maya be in any danger.

“For now, stay put. I don’t want to put you on house arrest but we kind of have too,” He shrugs as if that’s an easy undertaking. “Either that or get out of the country for a while.”

“Do you think it would be safe if we did that?” A trip to Spain is sounding better and better.

“Yeah, we would go with you, of course, but maybe just until we know more about the attacker and what they plan to do next, it would be safer for you not to be here, especially if you can loan a private jet so he can’t track your whereabouts as easily.”

“Sorry for not alerting you about this earlier mate, Jenson said to keep it quiet around Maya,” Nathan adds.

“I appreciate it. She gets worked up easily at the minute,” I say, grateful she doesn’t know what’s happening. She is already struggling with sleep. “Well then lads, it looks like we’re going to Menorca.”

I have spent the past hour arranging all kinds of shit to be able to set off tomorrow morning.

Booking cars, finding passports, using my friend’s pilot and jet from Manchester airport so it’s further away but I know that all the stress will be worth it when we’re there.

The whole gang is tagging along, which I’m going to keep as a surprise from Maya.

I’ve sorted the salon for the girls so they don’t need to stress over money whilst its closed, and Max and I can work remotely anywhere so that was easy to sort out.

My goal is to make sure the next few weeks are a dream for my girl. Sun, sea, sex and cocktails, just what the doctor ordered. I even contemplated for a split-second asking Doc to come too, knowing Fallon would have been mortified over it, but that was a step too far.

It will be amazing, and we might even be able to explore the island a little with our tattooed, monster chaperones in toe. Now, all I need to do is tell Maya. I don’t know how she will take it, but to be honest she’s been that down this week it will do her good to get away.

It’s just gone 9am by the time I’m finished, so I start making her breakfast in bed.

The way to my girl’s heart is food, something that I have known since we were young.

On the days that her own mother forgot to feed her, it was obvious to me and so I’d always drop the hint to Fallon to invite her for over for dinner.

Accordingly, my plan is to tell her the news whilst she has a mouthful of pancakes.

I head up the stairs with her breakfast to find she isn’t in our room.

My heart starts to beat double time, I’m going to have a heart attack over this girl if things carry on like this.

I breathe in deep to settle myself. It’s fine, she will be fine.

She has probably snuck downstairs whilst I was in my office.

I chant this to myself repeatedly even though my brain is screaming ‘the psycho killer has got her’as I meander into the only other room of the house she loves as much as our bedroom.

That’s where I find her, on her window seat curled up with a book.

She hasn’t even noticed that I’ve walked into the room yet.

She’s make up free, with her hair pulled into a messy bun on top of her head and a tiny silk pyjama shorts set on, looking absolutely irresistible.

“Morning baby,” I call from the door, not wanting to frighten her. She’s been especially jumpy recently. “I’ve got the goods.” I wink as I walk over.

Her face is beaming when she sees me, although I’m not sure if its me or the food she’s happier to see. I chuckle at the way she grabs for the coffee and plate of pancakes, covered with chocolate and strawberries.

“Mmm, you should do this every morning,” She hums happily taking a big sip of her hot drink. The way she reacts is so sexy and she doesn’t even know it. Will I ever get enough of her?

“Keep making noises like that and I will think of better ways to start your morning off.” I cock an eyebrow, knowing that she loved her wakeup call yesterday morning, with my face buried between those beautiful legs.

Her cheeks heat at what I’m assuming is the same memory. “Oh, I agree with you. Orgasms and food are the way to my heart, you know this,” She giggles. She looks so happy this morning, let’s hope the bomb I’m about to drop keeps up that high.

“So… I have some news,” I start, her attention on me as I speak.

“Well spit it out, the anticipation is killing me,” She mock frowns at me.

“I’ve booked us a trip. We leave at 4am tomorrow.” I smile, watching her carefully for a reaction.

She sits up straighter, food forgotten about as she takes in what I’ve said.

“Why, what, where, when?” she exclaims. “You can’t just tell me half a story. What do I pack? How long for?”

“Why, because I love you and we need an escape for a while. What, a beach holiday to one of my places. Where, Menorca… you’re going to love it! When, well, I have already answered that one,” I laugh at her apparent excitement.

“Oh my god!” she jumps up and down then runs into my arms. “This is so exciting. I don’t even know where my passport is or any of my holiday clothes.” Suddenly her face drops, worry creasing her brow. “Is it a good idea? Is it… is it safe to go?”

“Yes, I’ve planned it all and checked with the lads first. They thought it would be a great idea. Obviously, they will be coming too so we won’t be entirely alone but we will have more freedom.” She visibly relaxes instantly. Thank fuck.

“We will have to go to my place to pick up some stuff,” She adds, more to herself.

“Nope, already sorted it. All you need to do is pack essentials and anything else we can pick up there.”

“Tommy, I haven’t worked in weeks. I can’t just go and buy a whole new wardrobe with fresh air!” she says abruptly.

“Maya, I don’t know how you don’t know this yet…but money isn’t exactly an issue for me and if you haven’t noticed, your kind of stuck with me. Which means what’s mine is yours, stop stressing.” At least I know she’s not with me for my money I laugh to myself, not that I ever thought she was.

“But still, it feels weird spending your money, even if you have a shit tonne of it,” She declares seriously, making me laugh.

“Well you can pay me back in blow jobs if it makes you feel better. Now come on, we’ve only got today to get sorted.”
