Chapter 4 #2

The idea is nice. And maybe in some alternate universe things happened that way.

“All I know,” I say to both of them. “Is that I’m glad we’re here tonight.

And I hope you can forgive me too for not telling you I was JJ.

I genuinely have no idea who hit Atlas, so knowing about my racing alias wouldn’t have helped you figure out what happened. ”

Chance tips my chin up with gentle fingers, looking into my eyes. “I understand that, baby.”

“I’m sorry about not telling you straight away when I started racing here.” I continue. “I was never planning to race again until after college. If Mom found out now, she’d cut me off financially, and I want to graduate and learn how to design my own motorcycle one day.”

“What about your dad?” he asks. “He’s a legend in the racing world. Wouldn’t he support your dreams?”

There’s a pang in my chest at the thought of my father. “He’s never taken me seriously. And he isn’t the only one who thinks that women can’t be faster than men on the racing track. That’s why I pretended to be a guy.”

Lev pulls me out of Chance’s arms and into his own. “I hope you know that Chance and I don’t feel that way. Aside from the fact that you were faster than us plenty of times since these races started.”

His praise makes me happy. “I know. That’s one of the many reasons why I love you guys.

But what I was trying to say is that I trust you.

The reason why I didn’t say anything is that when I saw that Cal was forcing you to race, I thought that if I could be there without him knowing, I could find a way to help you get out of it. ”

“Is that why you made that crazy bet earlier tonight?” Lev asks.

“I knew he and Mason were cheating and that you owed them money, so I thought I’d win and pay off whatever they wanted.”

Lev sighs. “That was sweet of you, Zee. And without that bike coming out of nowhere, you would have won.”

“We aren’t mad at you, baby.” Chance adds. “We love you for trying to help us. It’s funny in a way that we didn’t tell you about the races to protect you. We didn’t want you anywhere near your ex.”

“I figured that was why you kept quiet. I’m not mad at you.”

I breathe a sigh of relief. “I’m glad we cleared this up. Convincing Ares about it will be a different story.”

Chance tucks a strand of hair that’s escaped from my ponytail behind my ear. “If he’s as smart as he says he is, he’ll understand.”

“I hope so.” The words come out more like a yawn as my body sends me signals that it needs sleep. “I’m beat. Is it ok if I hose off before going to bed?”

“Absolutely. Let me turn the shower on for you. I can go shower in the master bathroom, and Chance can use one of the other bathrooms.”

I lower the zipper of my leather jacket, dropping the garment to the floor as I follow him to the en suite bathroom.

“The shower is nice and hot for you, Zee.”

“See you in five.” Chance slaps my ass with a chuckle. “Go get yourself cleaned up, you dirty girl.”

A part of me is a little sad that Chance and Lev didn’t try to join me as I stand under the warm jets of the shower.

But truth be told, I’m really exhausted, and all I want is to let my body recover from tonight’s race—and the fall—and to let my mind rest.

The road ahead of me looks paved with challenges, but that’s a problem for future Zara.

Chance and Lev are both back in the room by the time I exit the bathroom wrapped in a fluffy towel.

“Hey Zee,” Lev hands me one of his old t-shirts. “You can sleep in this if you want.”

The cotton is as soft as butter, probably because it has been washed many times; the faded logo on the front says “Star Cove High Hockey.”

Lev has about a foot on me, so the t-shirt reaches just above my knees.

“Thanks, Lev.” I smile.

“Don’t mention it. Maybe next time you stay over, you could bring a couple of things to leave here? I have plenty of room in my closet. I don’t mind you sleeping in my clothes, but just in case you’d like to have your own stuff.”

He’s the most thoughtful of my guys. “That would be great. I have no clean underwear, but I don’t like wearing any at night, so it doesn’t bother me. I might have to borrow a pair of boxer shorts from you tomorrow or go commando.”

“Come on, baby,” Chance moves the comforter on Lev’s king size bed. “Get in the middle. You’ll never hear me or Lev complaining about you being commando.” He chuckles, wiggling his blond eyebrows.

Lev turns the lights off before getting into bed, and I settle between them, comfortable and safe.

“Good night, Zee.” He whispers, brushing my lips with his.

“Sweet dreams, baby.” Chance turns me around, his soft lips touching mine for a brief moment, before returning a second later for another soft but more lingering kiss.

A groan escapes from me as I hug myself tighter to my stepbrother. “Hmm, you feel so good.” I murmur against his lips.

“You too, baby.”

His mouth leaves mine, trailing soft, openmouthed kisses down the column of my neck.

By the time Chance reaches my collarbone, my nipples are hard and sensitive, and I’m hyper-aware of the feeling of the cotton of my t-shirt rubbing against them.

I’m tired but wired, and despite feeling exhausted, the spot between my legs is pulsing in sync with my heartbeat. Squeezing my thigh muscles doesn’t bring me much relief, and it doesn’t go unnoticed by the two men in my bed.

“You feel a little tense, Zee.” Lev’s fingers skim their way down my waist, over the fabric of his old t-shirt. His touch is gentle, his voice a low whisper. “Is there anything Chance and I can do to help you relax?”

Before I can say anything, my clit answers with an intense throb.

“I don’t know.” I moan. “I’m so tired, but you guys are so warm and hot. And you smell so good.”

I can’t see them smile in the dark bedroom, but I swear I can feel their lips curl up.

Chance’s fingers lift the hem of my t-shirt under the covers.

“Chance, I—”

“We’ve got you, baby. If you come, you’re gonna sleep much better. Lev and I can get you there quickly, and then we’ll sleep.”

The idea is tempting, but I can already feel how hard my stepbrother is against my hip.

“What about you guys?”

Lev’s tone is soft, like his touch as he finishes the job Chance started and hikes the cotton of his t-shirt over my chest. “Don’t worry about us.

We’re always hard whenever we’re in bed with you.

This can be just about you. You had an eventful night, and we want to help you unwind and get some rest.”

Chance takes my lips in a soft, open-mouthed kiss while his fingers find my aching clit.

He swallows my moan as I arch my back into his touch.

The way he’s working me is perfect; his touch is light at first as he rubs circles around my clit, touching the sides but not pressing fully on it.

Swirls of pleasure scatter around all my nerve endings, and I’m surprised by how close I am to a climax I didn’t know I needed so desperately.

After a couple of minutes, Chance increases the pressure, his touch becoming firmer. He zeroes in right where I need him, his tighter circular movements keeping a steady pace.

Lev has been playing with my nipples, rubbing them with his fingers in the same way Chance has been doing between my legs.

“Oh.” I gasp as I feel myself close to combusting.

That must be what Lev was waiting for to lower his head and take one of my nipples into his mouth.

The warm, wet sensation is heaven, and more pleasure travels down in a wave of tingles where Chance doesn’t miss his cue and delivers a firm pinch to my clit.

That’s my undoing, and I cry out as my whole body convulses with wave after wave of blissful sensation.

They take turns kissing my lips, my neck, my chest until my orgasm ebbs and my body relaxes.

Gentle hands lower my t-shirt back in place, and I find myself nestled between them.

My legs are tangled with Chance’s, my head partially on his chest while Lev hugs me from behind, pressing me closer to his best friend.

I’m vaguely aware that they’re both rock-hard, and I vow to return the favor… tomorrow.
