53. Harlow
Time was up. Whether Nik wanted it or not, the hive was about to be dragged back together—kicking, bleeding, and fucking—if I had a say in the matter.
And if he didn’t like it? Too fucking bad.
Sina deserved better than a ghost behind a camera. And there was no way in hell I was letting her go. Call me selfish or a monster, I didn’t give a fuck, as long as she was mine. I was done letting my brother hide from my mistakes.
Sina slid off the bed, the covers slowly slipping from her deliciously curvy figure, revealing her perfect ass as she moved. Fuck. I fought the urge to follow her.
Kiron growled low in appreciation. “Where are you going, princess?”
“To shower, before I go downstairs and pick a fight with my alpha,” she said, already halfway across the room. "Plus Rafe promised me breakfast and I’m starving.”
Her alpha?
I chuckled. If Nik was watching her right now he was fighting a serious hard-on. I know I was. Her bold confidence was a fucking turn on and it twisted something feral to the surface.
She paused at the doorway and glanced back over her shoulder.
“Are you two coming?” She disappeared into the massive bathroom, the doorframe swallowing her up. A second later, the tap turned on and water rushed through the pipes.
Dangerous little vixen. She was perfect for us. My body reacted before my brain did. I leaned forward without thinking, instinct pulling me after her. The scent of her was still thick in the air, something sweet underneath that made my fox pace restlessly under my ribs .
‘Go after her.’ Ghost insisted, as he forced a vision of her pinned to the tile wall, water cascading down her curves. ‘Remind her exactly who she belongs to.’
My foot nearly touched the floor before I stopped myself.
No. Not yet. I had to stay focused on this fucked up plan to get Nik to lose his careful control, and it was going swimmingly.
I couldn’t lose track now. I groaned, adjusting my cock beneath the sheets.
I forced myself to stay put and dragged my gaze lazily to Kiron instead, who was still staring at the bathroom doorway like he too was fighting the urge to follow her.
“If Nik doesn’t get his head out of his ass, she’ll walk away from us,” Kiron said.
The smug-as-fuck smile slipped right off my face. That wasn’t a hypothetical. She had said as much just a second ago. Though if Sina thought I was unhinged now…
“You think my crazy ass is going to just let her walk away, Ki?” I kept my tone light, even as my fox bristled. “You should know me better than that by now.”
His gaze finally met mine. His beast was riding him hard.
I could see it in the tight pinch between his brows, the faint sheen of sweat along his hairline.
But mostly, it was in his eyes—deep ruby red.
He needed to shift. Hadn’t in days. Or he needed the blood from our mate to satisfy his beast. I wasn’t sure which.
It was hard to tell with Kiron.
“What?” I asked. “Are you going in there or going on a run?”
“She’s serious about walking away from us, Harlow. You pushed her too far.”
