Chapter 21 Chase

Chase

The next day, I didn’t hear from Faust once. Or the day after that.

But unlike the first few times, I didn’t fall for it. His silence wasn’t absence. I still felt him there. He lurked inside my mind and body, waiting for a chance to say something annoying.

And that wasn’t all. The more time I spent with Sagitta, the more I thought about my depressing conversation with Cygnet. He’d implied that Faust was the source of Sagitta’s feelings for me. That it was some kind of demon charm, and nothing more.

I didn’t know what to believe. But that fucking sucked to think about.

Sagitta roused in bed beside me. He blinked past the bleariness in his eyes and murmured, “Anything?”

I knew he was talking about Faust. “Nope. But he’s still here,” I added, knocking on my head.

Sagitta’s expression was halfway between a pout and a scowl. It was wholly adorable.

“This would be easier if the demon told us exactly how to get rid of him,” he muttered.

I hesitated. Sagitta noticed.

“Chase?” he asked in a tone that implied he knew I was hiding something.

I didn’t know what to say. I wanted to tell him the truth. But what if it was true? What if Faust was using demon magic to force Sagitta to fall for me? I couldn’t live with myself if that was the case.

“Oh, for the love of Lucifer,” Faust suddenly spat. His tone brimmed with the same outrage as a posh woman who’d just discovered dog shit on her heels. “I cannot believe you think so little of me, Chase McLeod. Honestly, after all we’ve been through!”

I flinched at Faust’s interjection. It felt like a smack to the back of the head after he’d been silent for two days.

“Did he talk to you?” Sagitta asked, sitting upright.

“Yeah,” I grumbled. “I’m just going to ignore him.”

“You’ll do no such thing, young man, I’m not done with you yet,” Faust ranted.

I grunted in frustration. I didn’t want to hear his shrieking first thing in the morning.

“Shrieking?” Faust scoffed. “I have a beautiful voice, thank you very much—”

In my impatience to shut him up, I kissed Sagitta. He made a soft sound of surprise before kissing me back. His lips were unbelievably soft first thing in the morning, just like the rest of him. I was getting a little too used to him sleeping in my bed.

When we broke apart, Sagitta was breathless. “Not that I’m complaining, but what was that for?” he asked.

I smirked. “It makes Faust shut up.”

Sagitta’s dark eyes glinted. “I see. It’s too bad we can’t kiss and fuck every second of the day. I’m sure that would make him evacuate your body for good.”

The casual way he said such filthy things made me shudder. My cock jerked to life.

“Yeah,” I agreed, my voice catching with lust. “Too bad.”

We held charged eye contact for a few seconds before I ducked beneath the covers and went down on him.

After our shower, Sagitta towelled off his wet hair. “That reminds me. As much as I’d love it, I’m not sure a private blowjob star is the best career path for you.”

I snorted as I pulled on a fresh pair of boxers. “You sure? I’ve got the skills, and you’ve apparently got the money.”

Sagitta huffed. “Don’t make it sound like I pay you for sex. It’s only hot in the moment. We have sex because I like you, and...” His cheeks tinged pink. “And—well, I assume you like me, too.”

I stared at him. He was naked from the waist up, so my eyes were free to roam.

“Obviously,” I said. But Cygnet’s comment nagged me. “Um. I have a stupid question.”

Sagitta undid the towel around his waist and placed it back on the hooks to dry. “Hm?”

It was more difficult to talk while his bare ass was on display. I swallowed past the anxious lump in my throat.

“What if... Faust gets exorcised, right?” I began.

Sagitta put his socks on. They were black and pristine, no frayed threads or holes anywhere. “Yes.”

I went on. “So, like, after he’s gone and we know I’m not possessed anymore.”

“Yes.” He shimmied into his briefs.

I hesitated when he stopped to shoot me a curious look, since I could barely get a fucking thought out.

“Sorry. This is really hard when you’re doing a reverse striptease in front of me,” I admitted.

He snorted playfully. “You’re getting aroused because I’m putting my clothes on?”

“I can’t help it. You’re too hot.”

He smiled, his gaze warm. “Why don’t you turn around while I keep getting dressed? I’m listening.”

God, I was dumb. I turned around and faced the unsexy bathroom wall.

“Okay,” I said, less flustered now. “So, after I’m free of demons, what happens if... if you don’t like me anymore?”

The silence that followed filled me with dread. I almost peeked over my shoulder from morbid curiosity.

“What are you talking about?” Sagitta asked, sounding more confused than anything else. “Why would that even happen?”

My shoulders slumped. Just thinking about a life without Sagitta drained me. It was terrifying to imagine all the wonderful new things in my life could be stripped away in the blink of an eye.

“Because... when I talked to Cygnet, he said you were being manipulated by Faust’s influence,” I mumbled. “He basically said whatever relationship we have isn’t real. When I’m not possessed, you might not care about me anymore.”

Another anxiety-inducing silence almost made me turn around, but before I could move, Sagitta shoved me against the wall. I gasped as my nipples collided with the cold surface. They got hard, which felt odd and uncomfortable, but also weirdly good.

Sagitta’s warm hands roamed possessively down my sides. I felt his bare chest press into my back, sandwiching me between his body and the wall.

“Chase,” he growled. “You’ve said some stupid things before, but that is truly the stupidest.”

I blushed. I didn’t think it was that stupid.

“Huh?” I squeaked. “What d’you mean?”

I bit back another gasp as his hands slithered down my hipbones, then inward in a V-shape. They were dangerously close to my dick. I didn’t finish after I sucked him off in bed, thinking the shower would be enough to make me sane again. But now, I was getting hard again fast.

“What do you think?” Sagitta demanded. His fingers slid through my patch of hair, making me squirm.

“I don’t know,” I admitted in a pathetic mewl. Right now, I couldn’t really think at all. Not with him touching me. Not with all the blood rushing down, away from my head.

“First of all,” Sagitta growled as he pressed closer into my back. I was so close to the wall that my cheek squished against it. “Do you think I’m that gullible? That I, a professional exorcist, couldn’t see through a demon’s lie?”

I inhaled a shaky breath. Being pinned in this compromising position got me hot and bothered faster than I’d realized.

“No,” I mewled.

“And even if I did fall for the demon’s lie, you don’t think I could tell you two apart? It’s beyond obvious when you’re you, versus when the demon is speaking through your mouth.”

It took me a second to register what he was saying because while he spoke, his index finger and thumb wrapped around the base of my cock.

“Uh huh,” I agreed dumbly.

“What did I just say?”

“Huh...?”

Sagitta leaned his weight deeper into my back. “Repeat what I just said.”

I blushed harder and my cock throbbed in Sagitta’s grip. I was too horny to be interrogated right now.

“You... can tell when I’m me,” I murmured with my lips smeared into the wall.

“That’s right,” he confirmed.

As if praising me, he gave my cock a languid pump. The wall muffled my moan. When my legs started trembling, I was grateful that Sagitta’s body held me upright.

“And?” he prompted.

My dick felt too good. My mind was totally blank. “Um... You recognize me?”

I heard the smirk in Sagitta’s soft laugh. “Yes, Chase. Good boy.”

The last remaining scraps of my brain melted into a puddle. I whimpered against the wall as Sagitta’s hand worked my cock in slow, deliberate motions. The cresting pleasure nearly made me cry out. Accidentally edging myself earlier was a huge mistake. I felt ready to burst at the slightest touch.

Then I made a second mistake. Curious, I glanced down and saw Sagitta’s hand wrapped around my flushed cock. I bit my lip, clenching my eyes shut before I blew my load instantly.

His hand stopped moving.

“Why?” I whined.

“Do you remember what we just talked about?”

I groaned in frustration. “Yes. And you’re mean for teasing me.”

Unable to resist, I wriggled my ass against him and felt a slight bulge poking into me.

He chuckled. “You’re so far gone already. Want me to touch you more?”

“Yeah.”

“Are you going to dismiss all the ignorant things my brother said?”

“Yes,” I said hurriedly.

“And you’re going to believe me when I tell you how I feel?”

“Yes, I will, I promise!” My words were pathetic and whiny, but I was too desperate to care. “Please, I want to come so bad...”

Sagitta exhaled a trembling breath against my bare back. I felt his dick pressing up against my ass. Fuck, it was so hot that he was hard again barely an hour after I’d sucked him off.

His fingers moved in a tight ring up the length of my cock until I was whimpering with need. The contrast between the cold wall and Sagitta’s body heat sent my senses into a frenzy. Everything felt so fucking good.

“You’re quivering,” Sagitta purred. “Do you like being my good boy?”

Another pulse of arousal rocked my core. I nodded fervently.

He pressed a kiss between my shoulder blades and a cracked sound escaped me. My heart beat faster and faster. I was so far gone that the small kiss felt nearly as good as a few strokes of my cock.

I was fucking crazy for this man. But I was too horny to communicate it.

Instead I rocked my hips in reverse against him, grinding, wanting his push back. Sagitta’s chest pressed closer, gentle yet dominant. I was stuck between his toned, feline body and the wall.

“Tell me how you feel right now,” he ordered.

“Good, really good,” I sputtered in one breath.

He rewarded me with another flick of his wrist. Pleasure ignited my nerves.

“It’s all you, isn’t it? Not the demon. Just you, Chase.”
