41. Evelyn

The therapy had worked, because I wasn’t thinking of Caleb anymore.

“I haven’t showered since last night!” I tried to close my legs, but he pressed them wider.

“Good. I love how you taste.” A vibration of nerves went through me. A remnant of shame, of discomfort in my own skin, but his words calmed them. My breath was high in my chest, rapid, and I sank into the sofa, into his mouth.

He brought a hand up over my belly, tracing around my areola as he licked the length of my slit, using the fabric to tease me.

“You’re so slick for me,” he growled against my pussy, and I whined.

Whenever my emotions got too high, they warped into something sexual. Tension, anxiety, happiness… To my pussy, it was all the same, and it left me soaking and needy.

The sharp point of his snake ring traced my skin, careful not to scratch. It brought all my nerves to life, stiffening my nipple, and then he glided over that, circled it.

“Beautiful.”

His other finger hooked under my panties, tugging them to the side, and then his mouth was on my bare flesh and I gasped. My hips bucked forward, and he pinned me in place, leaving me at his mercy.

His tongue slipped between my pussy lips, gathering my juices.

“The mansion where the party will be held is the place that holds all my darkest memories.” A flick of his tongue on my clit. There was warning edging his voice that made me more sensitive. I looked at him, taking it in with the gravitas he commanded.

“It brings out the worst part of me. Like a cornered animal. That’s why I’ll need you to handle the explosives. I can’t trust myself.”

A finger pierced me, glided against the cluster of nerves on my frontal wall.

“I can do it. You can count on me.”

“I know, you good little girl. I’m worried I won’t be able to count on me.”

“I’ll be there. You won’t be alone.”

He breathed in my scent, and my anxiety was soothed by a pleasant rumble from his chest. His tongue probed me, another finger slipping inside. “It will be mostly Bratva, but there will be others. You will be the only innocent inside those walls, Lyn, except for the children they’ve kidnapped.”

It was a messed-up conversation to have when he was kissing my sex, lavishing me with such affection. But it helped. I didn’t disappear into the dark corners of my mind. He kept me grounded, firmly planted and safe within my own body.

“We’ll save them.”

“Mhm. And once I get the hard drive, we’ll take them down.”

“How will we do that?”

He licked me from opening to clit, his fingertips curling inside me as he went over the plan in his head. I moaned, my hands running through his silky, black hair, my legs hooked over his shoulders.

“It’ll be a short window of opportunity. They brought in most of the equipment two days ago, but the hard-drive I need isn’t there yet. That’ll arrive with the Pakhan. He’ll be working out of Newburyport for a few days, checking in with his cells, and he’ll need the data.”

“I don’t know how to—ah!”

He cut me off with a third finger, a sharper flick against my clit.

“You’re on bomb duty. I’ll be getting the data.”

“What about Scorpion? Can’t he do it?”

He arched his perfect brow, his lips planted between my legs as he sucked my clit and made me buck. Right before I was about to come, he stopped, his motions stilled. He was keeping me on the edge, and I mewled with displeasure.

“Never tell anyone that name.”

“I won’t.”

He kissed me again, then stood, leaning on the back of the sofa. I glanced down to his bulge, contained inside his black pants.

“After the kids are out, and the explosives are planted, you’re to leave, Lyn.”

“Yea, we’ll leave after that,” I said, my eyes narrowing at his careful phrasing.

“No. I’ve waited almost twenty years for this, Lyn. You are the most precious thing in my life, and I need to know you’re waiting for me when this is all over.”

My heart began to race.

“Why? Why can’t you leave with me?”

“Because I need to find what happened to her. I need to know.”

I reached forward, grabbing his cock through his pants with a petulant harrumph.

“What good would the knowing do if you’re dead?”

His thumb glided along my pout, a dark smile hiding in the corner of his lips. It never fully materialized.

I didn’t wait for the answer. I knew I didn’t want to hear it, and so I dove forward. Tears were already in my eyes, and I took him into my mouth, soothing the fear that ricocheted in my skull.
