Chapter 5 #2
I pressed my hands against his chest and slid them to his shoulders, my fingernails grazing his skin. His pumps picked up, the glide commanding and possessive.
“Mine,” he growled, head tipping back, causing the veins in his neck to strain. The dark strands kissed his pale forehead. I met his intense gaze. He growled again, and I flexed my channel around him, making him groan. The move elicited a shiver up my spine.
Another release hit me. It wracked through my body, clamped my pussy, and my fingertips went numb. He gasped and pushed onto his elbows.
My palms slapped on his muscled stomach to stop him, but he kept moving forward, forcing my nails to dig into his skin.
I continued to push at his shoulder until he gave in and lay back on the floor, his head pillowed by my dropped blanket.
Once on my knees, his knot rubbed against my clit.
A shiver crested down my spine, and I whimpered, my channel gripping him.
He sucked in a breath, his eyelids becoming slits.
“Fuck yes, Princess. Take my cock.” My sex squeezed around him at his delicious words. I rolled my hips again, taking his girth all the way. I loved how he felt. He always made me so turned on. I inhaled, breathing him in, losing myself in his moans and gasps.
I cried out, a wave of release wracking my frame. My body curved forward from the force of the orgasm. My legs twitched around his waist. I slitted my eyes to find him watching me with his lips parted.
He squeezed his eyes tight, tipping his head back so his neck strained, veins bulging.
“Fuck. Fuck. You feel so delicious squeezing my cock, Josephine,” he growled, sending shivers through my sex.
I cried out, grinding down. “I belong to you, my love.” He mumbled and muttered nonsense while he pumped his hips hard and fast, bouncing me and causing my brain to become a scrambled mess.
A sliver of sanity speared my pleasure. If I continued, I would drown in him. I exhaled, stiffening my thighs until they squeezed into his sides. I leaned forward, slapping my hands on his chest. His lips parted.
“Will you be honest?” I asked, my voice breaking. I’d lost control of my sadness, and it made it into my voice. His breathing hitched, feverish eyes opening to settle on me while his eyebrows furrowed.
“I’ll tell you whatever you want. I’ll be whatever you want, Princess.” His fervent promise hit my battered, broken heart. I needed to get a hold of myself.
“Don’t call me that,” I bit out, trying not to let my temper get the best of me.
Hurt was prevalent in my gut, and I didn’t want to give him more of me when he’d already taken most of me.
I leaned forward, sliding my hands up to his neck.
His cock twitched inside me, rippling pleasure through my senses.
I had to talk faster, because I was about to come again.
“Tell me where you’re hiding Cierra,” I murmured in his ear. A shiver crested over his body.
“Who?” I lifted until my hands were on his belly, then rolled my hips while flush to his pelvis. He groaned, his lips parting.
“Cierra, where is she?”
He blinked a few times.
“I don’t—You think I’m hiding her?” His shock was obvious, and if I wasn’t mistaken, there was hurt laced in his words.
I only stared at him. Trust wasn’t something I could give him anymore.
“I don’t know what’s real.” The words felt ripped from my soul.
“I would never . . .” He opened and closed his mouth, obviously at a loss for words, and his alarm was clear. There was no subterfuge, and he only gawked. My gut told me this here, this vulnerability he displayed, was the truth. But I still needed answers. “Will you do something for me?”
“Always, Josephine,” he blurted, desperation tinging his voice.
“Close your eyes,” I whispered.
The corner of his lips turned down, but he closed them. I grabbed the vase on the center table and swung the ceramic down on his temple.
It shattered on impact, and he grunted, his head drooping to the side. Bracing myself, I hoisted myself off, trying to ignore how my channel clasped his girth.
Slick dripped down my thighs.
I stared down at his still body. Leaning down, I pressed my finger under his nose. He was breathing and looked asleep. I grabbed the second blanket folded beneath my pillow and laid it over him.
I hesitated over his face. He still frowned, even in unconsciousness. I would have felt bad, but he hadn’t when he’d rejected me. Anyway, there was no time to waste, I grabbed my phone from the coffee table and clicked on Verity’s number.
It rang a few times, and anxiety crawled down my throat. I didn’t have anyone else?—
“Hello?” Her groggy voice came over the speaker. I exhaled with relief.
“It’s Josephine.” The sound of shuffling ensued.
“Are you okay?”
She was incredibly perceptive and always had been.
“I’m sorry to have woken you,” I said, voice choked.
“Joey,” was all she said. I closed my eyes tight, warmth spreading on my cheeks.
I sighed and said, “Can you pick me up?”
There was a beat of silence.
“Send me the address, going to get dressed and hop in my car.”
“Thank you—” I rasped.
“You know I got you.” The line clicked off, and I quickly researched the closest public area, settling on a gas station a few miles away. I forwarded the address to her.
“You’re leaving?”
I jumped, the phone slipping out of my hands. It landed right on the screen. Quickly, I scooped it up and winced at the shattered glass as I straightened.
Alex cleared his throat. His expression was odd, and he kept focusing hard on my eyes, like pointedly.
Ah, he was trying not to stare at my naked ass. Nudity didn’t faze shifters, so he was likely feeling awkward about the kiss. My face warmed again.
“Are you going to stop me?”
Instead of saying anything, he jerked his head to the swinging door.
“Thank you,” I whispered.
I was leaving the phone. The screen was already fucked, but I didn’t want them going through it and figuring out where I went. I quickly deleted my texts with Verity and her contact information. I tossed it on the ground with a clatter.
“Sorry for the mess,” I said sheepishly.
“No worries, Luna,” he replied, raising his hands.
I gave him a pointed look, and he pressed his lips together, trying not to laugh. Perfect, I didn’t want us to be awkward. Lucian would undoubtedly kill him for my mistake, and it wasn’t fair to Alex.
I shifted and bolted.
Try and find me now, Lucian .
