Chapter 38
Three Months Later
“T his is ridiculous,” I said, staring at myself in the mirror. “I have been married twice. People are going to talk. Maybe we should’ve just done something small.”
Becks came up behind me, wearing a soft pink bridesmaid’s dress, hair in a casual updo with curls framing her face.
“Monica,” she spoke, softly. “You deserve this. Fuck what everyone else thinks.”
I snorted, laughing at her language, “You’re in a church.”
“So, you know I’m serious then.”
“Fine,” I said, adjusting the skirt of the mermaid style wedding dress I’d chosen. “Are the girls ready to give me away?”
“They’re at the back of the church waiting,” she assured me.
Even if we were doing this up right, with an actual wedding, we hadn’t invited a lot of people. Just my parents and Caroline Foster. She probably wouldn't show up though, having gone back to the city suddenly three months ago.
Lucas, Nick, and Will were standing up with Trevor. Will looked adorable in his little infant tux.
“Lucas was doing something in that tux holding that baby” Becks wiggled her eyebrows at me.
I laughed again. “Men with babies are something else,” I said, thinking about the moments Trevor had held the tiny baby boy.
“Paul would be happy for you,” my friend spoke softly, hitting the exact reason I was so nervous right now.
“Yeah?” I asked my brown eyes meeting hers in the mirror.
“Definitely.” she continued to assure me. “Now, let’s go get you married.”
