Chapter 39
M onica was beautiful.
As I watched her coming down the aisle with Lexi and Lacey on either side of her, I found myself tearing up. Lacey caught my eye and shook her head at me, rolling her eyes.
I found myself winking at my oldest daughter, relieved she was doing better after several months in therapy. Lexi had been pretty quiet about all of this, which we expected. We knew her father was on her mind even though she was happy for her mother and I. Even the younger redhead was smiling at me though and I winked at her too.
Will was cooing behind me, held by Lucas, and I turned glancing over my shoulder at them both. Lucas shrugged apologetically but we weren’t bothered. Monica and I loved that little man like he was our own son.
Becks was giggling at her son’s noises across the altar from me and the preacher was sending her a stern look even as Nat was shushing her own mother.
Looking a little further behind Lucas, I met Nick’s brown eyes. He looked like a fish out of water in his tux and I couldn’t help chuckling at him even as his eyes narrowed at me.
“I’ll kick your ass,” he mouthed.
The ceremony was short and sweet. Everything Monica wanted, and I didn’t deserve, getting to claim her as my own for the rest of our lives.
When the preacher announced us as Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Connor I dipped her back and kissed her thoroughly. My bride was beautifully breathless when I stood her back up and we walked back down the aisle to start the rest of our lives.
