Chapter 15
Dominik
I stared at the brochures in the waiting room.
Trying to figure things out.
Then I looked at Talia, “C-section?”
She snickered, “We don’t know for sure yet.”
I shrugged, “Don’t care. Read a book at work yesterday. So, c-section or natural birth?”
She shrugged, “Depends on the baby and what the doctors see or find.”
I nodded.
Made sense.
Then a woman in pink scrubs opened the door and called out, “Talia Griggs?”
“One more week,” I growled.
She giggled.
We followed the nurse as she took her weight, and then led us to a room, and handed her a cup to pee in.
Moments later, after she got her vitals, she left.
I was looking at some of the stuff on the walls.
And then I looked at a pamphlet on what pregnant women couldn’t eat.
Good thing that what we didn’t eat was on this list.
Just then, the doctor walked in with a smile on his face, “Congratulations, you're pregnant.”
I looked at Talia, who took in a big breath, then her eyes came to mine, and she smiled, “Happy?”
I winked, then pressed a kiss on her forehead, and murmured, “Fuck yeah.”
Since she couldn’t remember her last period, they told us they were going to order an ultrasound to see how far along she was.
“I stopped taking my birth control pills four days ago when we did the at-home pregnancy tests.” She said.
He nodded. “That’s fine. Just don’t take anymore.”
She nodded.
And that was when a machine was wheeled in.
The ultrasound tech said, “I’m going to give you a gown and step out. I need everything from the waist down removed, please.”
I lifted a brow, “Come again?”
The ultrasound tech, a fucking man, said, “We are performing an ultrasound, sir.”
“No. I got that.” I said with a growl.
“What I want to know is why you have to put anything in her vagina. That’s mine.”
“Because the baby won’t be picked up by that method until they are about seven weeks.
I shook my head, “Yeah, no, we need a woman to do this.”
The ultrasound tech shook his head, “I’m sorry, but the next available appointment isn’t for two more weeks.”
“We’ll wait.” I snarled.
“Dominik.” I heard my woman say.
I sighed, then shook my head, “No. Minx. No. That’s mine. I protect what’s mine. And no motherfucker is going to get anywhere near your pussy but me.”
The ultrasound tech nodded, “Okay, I have an idea, one moment.”
One moment turned into ten minutes, and a woman walked in.
I let out a breath, then I nodded, “Okay.”
The woman stepped outside so Talia could undress from the waist down.
And then she got started.
I held Talia’s hand as I stared at the black screen until a grainy image appeared, “Well, will you look at that.”
The woman smiled, “Congratulations, you’re having twins.”
I felt the blood drain from my face. “Come again?”
She laughed.
Talia giggled.
Then I closed my eyes and said, “Fuck me. If it’s girls, I’m fucked.”
Talia laughed. “Dominik.”
I shook my head, “No, Minx. I need to stock up on shotguns and tools at the garage. Good strong tools that can do damage to little punks who mess with my girls.”
She giggled, “They might be boys.”
The woman smiled, “Or a boy and a girl.”
I sighed.
She helped clean Talia up and printed out a few pictures.
The moment she wheeled the machine out, I looked down at Talia, who was looking at the pictures, “Happy?”
She looked up at me as a tear trailed down her cheek.
I winked, then kissed it away.
Then she snapped, “Really? Twins? Fucking super sperm?”
I busted out laughing at the same time the doctor came in.
He told us she would probably be labeled as high risk due to being twins, her small stature, and my big frame.
I was a ten-pound baby after all.
And she was only six pounds.
Did I go crazy the moment we made it home and cleared away anything that could do her or the babies harm?
Fuck yes, I did.
Did I also go to my Amazon cart and start adding double of everything?
I sure the fuck did.

“Do you want to tell anyone?” I asked.
She looked up at me and winked, “Not until we know the genders. Is that okay?”
I nodded, “Fucking perfect.”
And I hoped and prayed that night with Talia curled into my body that it wouldn’t be girls.
‘Cause if they looked like her... I was fucked.
***
When Talia had told me the date that she wanted to get married on, I had been stunned.
So fucking stunned it had been a wonder I could even focus on a single thing in that moment other than showing her how happy her words had made me.
And as I stood there in a pair of dark gray slacks and a pale blue shirt, the same color as her eyes, I stared down at my woman.
My soon-to-be wife.
Chief had agreed to marry us; he had also gotten permission to perform the ceremony in that field of wildflowers.
Garrick was my best man.
Harlee was Talia’s.
Everyone we knew had shown up for the occasion.
“I promise to love you. I promise to be there. I promise to always put you first. You told me that you picked our wedding date because it was the first time I ever smiled at you. You claimed my heart when you were twenty-one, and you threw my shit in my face. I’m sorry it took me longer to catch up. ” I told her.
She winked up at me as tears trailed down her cheeks.
I brought my hand up and with the pad of my thumb, I wiped them away.
“I promise to love you. I promise to be there through the good times and the bad. It’s okay that it took you a while to catch up; I would have waited the rest of my life for you.
No one gets me like you do. No one understands me like you do.
You told me you were fractured, and baby, so am I.
But together... we make the term fractured, our bitch. I love you.”
Laughter sounded around us.
And the moment we were pronounced man and wife, I pulled her into my arms, dipped her low, and kissed the hell out of her.
My wife.
My life.
The mother of my babies.
I had my entire world in my arms.
Yeah, had the roles been reversed, I would have waited forever for her.
I lifted her as claps, cheers, hollers, and whistles flew around us.
“Ten dollars says Talia starts the next bickering war,” Ethan called out.
Talia glared at him.
I chuckled.
Then she glared at me.
And then, like a shot in the night, other bids started flowing in.
“Twenty on Talia.”
“Forty on Dom.”
“One hundred on Talia.”
“Seventy-five on Dom.”
I winked down at her, then said, “Couldn’t you have picked a better dress?”
She gasped, “You didn’t!”
Everyone who bet on Talia sighed.
I leaned my head down and whispered only for her to hear, “Meant that in a good way, Minx. Cause all I want to do is strip you bare and fuck the shit out of you.”
Her eyes sparked with heat, then she winked.
A little speaker was brought out here, and then I spun Talia around, pulled her close as the soft sounds of It’s Your Love by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw sounded around us.
She leaned in close and placed her cheek right over my heart.
In her hair, I whispered, “I love you.”
She pressed a kiss over my heart and whispered back, “I love you, too.”
