Chapter 16
Talia
Our wedding day was perfect.
Absolutely perfect.
Even as we slow danced to our song, little raindrops started to fall.
That was a good sign, and I welcomed it.
Since I was considered high risk, we had agreed to wait to go on our honeymoon, but he had promised me to make it worth it.
We went to Virgin Mary’s for our reception. Abel and Birdie had gone all out with the help of everyone.

And now... I was being carried into the house, bridal style, by Dominik, and then through the house and to our bedroom.
I frowned at the closed door, but he winked, kissed me stupid, and then sat me down on my feet.
He opened the door, and then I gasped.
A bucket of sparkling grape was sitting there with two glasses, as well as a playlist was going through a small speaker.
In long tapered holders at different heights were candles that were already lit.
They surrounded the bed.
And I felt my eyes tear up at what was on our bed.
That was when he gestured, “No bugs.”
Our bed that was covered in wildflowers.
I felt tears gather in my eyes as I looked up at my husband, then whispered, “I love you.”
He winked, “I love you, too.”
Then he stripped be bare, laid me down on our bed, the scent of wildflowers wafted up, and he made love to me, long, slow, and passionately.
“Always feels like the first time with you,” I said in a whisper.
He winked, “Always.”

I was now fourteen weeks along and we just left the doctor’s office with the genders of our babies in envelopes.
I smiled up at Dominik, “Announcement and gender reveal at the house tomorrow?”
He winked, “Told you once, tell you again. I’ll give you anything you want, Minx.”
I grinned, then we loaded up and headed over to Flowers Galore.
They didn’t only sell flower arrangements, but they also handled parties and just about everything you can name.
We walked in hand in hand and headed to the front counter.
We placed an order with one envelope for Baby A, and then we placed a second order for Baby B.
Everything would be ready tomorrow.
We were on our way home when I typed in a new text thread.

Dominik looked over at me and lifted a brow, “Wolf?”
I snickered, “We both knew there wasn’t anything there. And I was hurt. It was only friends.”
He sighed, then grabbed my hand and kissed my ring and the band. “Deserved it. Showed me what I had, and what I could lose. Don’t ever want to lose you, Talia.”
I winked, “You won’t.”
Then I waited a beat and said, “You ever insult my macaroni and cheese again, I’ll walk.”
He barked out a laugh, “Fucking hell, woman. Last fucking word.”

It was the next day.
Gloria, the owner of Flowers Galore, had already dropped off the baby reveal boxes.
I was attempting to cook dinner but kept getting hip-checked by Dominik.
Telling me to get off my feet.
I snapped, “Tell me to do that one more fucking time.”
He lifted a brow and had the nerve to point over to the couch.
I smiled, then went to the sink, flipped the water on, and then grabbed the nozzle.
And then I sprayed him right in the face.
Our family walked in at that precise moment.
And laughed.
I was giggling as Dominik was scowling.
But I did sit down after the meal was finished and ready.
Then I looked at Dominik, who winked, and I nodded.
Then he whistled, “If I can get y’all’s attention?”
Everyone looked at him.
“We have something we would like to show y’all. It’s an honor for both of us.”
Then, when Dominik held his hand out, I stood up and then placed mine in his.
He winked at me, and then we headed to the backyard.
We stopped underneath the banner and then smiled.
It only took a few minutes for eyes to read it, Davis Family Addition Coming February 6 th , and then hoots, hollers, claps, and cheers.
When the girls started to rush, I held up one finger, “There’s more.”
They all stopped.
Dominik looked at Garrick, “Grab one of those boxes? Bronson, can you grab the other one?”
They nodded and then did so.
They brought them over to us, shaking them as they walked, trying to figure it out.
We knelt beside the first box, and then I said, “One, two, three.”
We lifted the flaps, and then blue balloons entered the sky.
Dominik smiled and said, “Thank fuck.”
I giggled.
They started to rush again, but it was Dominik’s turn to hold up his finger.
Dominik moved and placed the second box between us.
Then he said, “One. Two. Three.”
We lifted the flaps.
Blue balloons sailed up into the sky.
“Twins?” My mother asked.
I nodded.
She smiled widely, and then we rushed by our family and friends.
Harlee gasped, “That’s why your text thread said Davis times two.”
I giggled then nodded.
Tatum chuckled, “I thought it meant just the two of you.”
Hugs were given.
Cheeks were kissed.
Claps were placed on backs.
Well wishes.
Congratulations.
Ethan opened his mouth, and I glared, “Don’t you dare.”
He chuckled.
Dad glared at him, too.
I high fived him.
We had just eaten, and everyone was hanging out.
The girls were sending me links to stuff that they bought that they loved.
I stood there as I watched Ice ignore everyone around him and focus on Arielle.
Well then.... sparks were going to be flaring.
And they did.
When she asked, “Do I have something on my face?”
He shook his head.
She lifted a brow, then made a finger motion for him to look away.
He didn’t do that.
She threw her hands up and then stomped away.
Ice watched her go, then he looked at me and lifted a brow. I winked.
To say the day had gone perfectly would be telling the truth.
I gabbed with Henrietta and winked at her.
She told me she couldn’t wait to meet my little babies.
Only... God had other plans.
