Chapter 21 #2
“Sure. Let me get the coffee going first.” Crush tapped the coffee grounds into a filter and started the brew. Then he dropped his boxers and shifted into a large gray wolf, rearing up on his hind legs.
Killian’s pulse spiked. With his forelegs braced on the counter, caging Killian in, Crush towered over him.
All of Killian’s rabbit instincts whispered for him to run. Except he didn’t sense any danger from the wolf; Crush would not harm him.
“You’re huge,” Killian whispered. “And you have so many sharp teeth.”
Crush gave a wolfish smile. “All the better to tear your clothes with.”
Both of them looked down, finding no clothes on Killian for the alpha to destroy.
“Maybe another time,” Crush said dryly. “Are you feeling better?”
Killian nodded. “It’s just my stupid instincts. You had plenty of chances to hurt me yesterday, and you didn’t.”
Crush wagged his tail. Then he leaned in slowly, nudging Killian’s face with his damp, cool nose. Killian giggled. “That’s cold.”
“All the better to tickle you with.”
“No!”
Crush laughed and whuffled at Naddie. Naddie promptly shifted into a coyote pup, yipping and wagging her tail. Of course she wasn’t afraid of Crush’s teeth. Of course.
“Damn it. We should’ve waited ‘til she was done nursing. Here.” Killian held Naddie up so she was facing the alpha.
Crush grinned and licked her snout. “Such a cute pup. Could you... set her down? I’d like to walk with her.”
Killian nodded. Crush backed off to give him space; Killian set Naddie on the floor.
She scampered immediately to Crush, her little legs a blur when Crush began to walk.
With more energy than her tiny body could contain, Naddie raced in circles around Crush, joined by Wonder Cart, who wheeled larger circles around them both.
“It might be too early for this,” Crush said, sounding amused.
Killian coughed. “You say that now. Wait ‘til you have your own pups nipping at your heels.”
Crush stood straighter, his ears pricking. Instead of continuing the lap around the living room, he headed back to Killian, pushing his snout against Killian’s belly. Then, he huffed several times.
“Do I smell different?” Killian asked warily.
“Yes,” Crush said slowly. “But it’s not just your missing heat. You were all sweet and musky yesterday, on top of your grassy scent. The musk is gone now. Instead, you smell sweeter than before, and a little like the forest. Like me.”
Killian froze. Crush looked up, meeting his gaze.
“You rubbed yourself all over me,” Killian pointed out. “And you filled me with your body weight in cum.”
Crush huffed. “I take issue with that. See, if I were to fill you with enough cum to rival my weight, then that implies that either you have my body’s volume of cum inside you, or my cum is really fucking dense.
That will allow it to occupy a tiny space while still being really heavy.
If that were the case, my cum would’ve been studied to hell and back in several science journals. ”
Killian blinked. “Did you just... explain the concept of density with cum?”
Crush grinned. “Did I?”
“I want to say you’re a good teacher, except you’re not allowed to use cum as an example when you’re teaching our pups!”
“I wasn’t going to. That was just for your benefit.” Crush stepped closer, pressing his furry snout against Killian’s jaw. “Our pups, huh?”
Killian blushed hotly. “I-I mean, that’s assuming that we have more than one.”
Crush sniffed his belly again. “I can’t wait to find out.”
“When do you think that will happen?”
“How long do rabbit pregnancies last?”
“Two months. It’s... going to be fast.”
Crush rumbled deep in his chest. “Wolf pregnancies are roughly five months. So our pups might be due in three and a half months. And we might hear their heartbeats two months in.”
“That’s really soon.” Killian’s heart thumped.
Crush hummed. “How many heats do you have in a year?”
“Th-three.” Killian’s eyes grew wide. “Wait. You can’t possibly...”
“... think I want to knock you up three times a year?” Crush licked his lips. “It’s a fantasy, sweetheart. Just like how you want to be bred nonstop for days on end.”
“Oh gods, I can’t believe you said that out loud!” Killian hid his burning face in his hands. Then he froze, remembering the other cabins around Crush’s. “Wait. Did your family hear it too?”
“No, our cabins are mostly soundproofed. We can hear a little of what’s out there, in case of danger. But no one wants to hear each other’s sex sounds.”
“Yeah, that would get awkward real fast.” Killian shuddered.
Crush grinned and turned back to Naddie, who was pawing at his leg. He nuzzled her and curled around her protectively. “Anyway, back to our other discussion. Omegas take on a bit of their alpha’s scent after they’ve conceived. You smell like me now.”
Killian sniffed at his arms but couldn’t tell the difference. But the fact that Crush could smell that change... It was enough to make his face hot. “My face is going to burn for eternity. Like it took a trip through Hell and never left.” Crush smiled indulgently at him. “You’re not helping!”
Crush rubbed his furry body against Killian’s legs. “I very much enjoy that you smell like me. You’re carrying my pups.”
Killian looked down at his flat, scarred belly, carefully cupping it with his hands. “So... There is definitely a pup in here. Or pups. Yours.”
“Mine,” Crush growled, nuzzling Killian’s belly again. “My pups.”
Killian’s heart skipped. Carefully, he cupped Crush’s furry snout, his fingers so close to those sharp teeth. “You didn’t eat me in your sleep. Like a chewy rabbit snack.”
Crush snorted. “Why would I?”
“Because I smell tasty?”
“You smell like my mate, sweetheart.” Then Crush froze, his gaze flying up to Killian’s face.
“Y-your mate?” Killian whispered.
“Yes. I said I’m going to court you, remember? You didn’t believe me. So, I’m going to convince you.”
“How?”
“By actually courting you, when we get a chance to breathe. Here, hop on and I’ll give you a ride.”
“Don’t you feel weird, pretending to be a horse?”
Crush narrowed his eyes. “Call me a horse again, bunny, and you’ll get payback.”
Killian glanced at Naddie. “Maybe when we don’t have witnesses.”
Crush laughed. “C’mon, you can even ride me as a rabbit, if you want.”
“Really?” Killian asked disbelievingly.
“Yes.”
Killian was shifting the next moment, shrinking all the way down. And now he was almost Naddie’s size—she was still in her coyote form. “You’re even huger now,” Killian said to Crush.
Crush lay on his belly. “Climb on.”
With some effort, Killian scrambled onto Crush’s back. Then he gripped Crush’s fur tightly, holding his breath when Crush straightened to his full height. The floor looked really far down in his rabbit shape.
“You’re kind of tall,” Killian blurted. “Now I feel like I’m bull-riding. Giddy up, cowboy!”
Crush huffed. “A cowboy is the person sitting on the animal.” He trotted around the living room anyway, Naddie tumbling along beside them.
They did a few laps through the cabin, Crush picking up speed as they grew more comfortable with each other. Then it became easy, and it became fun, watching everything fly by,
“I could get used to this,” Killian realized. He hadn’t even known this was possible with an alpha—the three of them spending time with each other, with no purpose or consequence. In fact, he was starting to really enjoy Crush’s interactions with Naddie.
Crush was about to reply when the front door burst open.
“Howl Master!” Hansel cried, looking harried. “Bad news. They’re attacking our people. Titan’s bakery was hit. They got Gavric’s car. Bruiser’s trapped in some kind of spell; Uriel’s trying to get him out of it. And Doc just reported a stowaway in his car.”
