Luke
Madison started stirring at daybreak, still wrapped up in my arms in my bed with me, her head resting on my chest over my heart. I closed my eyes, acting like I was still asleep. I felt my beautiful lover lift her head and sensed her looking at me. I didn’t move, doing my damndest not to smile.
Madison slowly moved away from me and started getting out of bed. Before her feet hit the floor, I grabbed her around her waist and pulled her back into my arms, hugging her from behind.
“Where do you think you’re going?” I asked.
“You were playing possum!”
I kissed her on the temple. “Sure was.”
“How long have you been awake?”
“About thirty minutes. I was enjoying watching you sleep. You looked so peaceful.”
“I feel more peaceful this morning than I have in a very long time.”
“So do I.”
“I need to pee, though,” she said, grinning.
“Fine, I’ll let you get up.”
She sat on the edge of my bed, still naked like I was, grabbed the shirt I wore to Midnight Rodeo off the floor, and put it on. “Be back in a minute,” she said, looking over her shoulder at me, her emerald eyes shining. Then she leaned over and sweetly kissed me.
I watched her walk to my bathroom, loving how she looked in my shirt. Thinking about the sex we had last night, I took a deep breath, my mind still blown by how incredible it was.
Madison was by far the best lay I’d ever had.
Despite her having only been with Ty, she was sensual as hell, knew how to move her body, and touch me in all the right ways.
There was no question that our physical connection was strong.
Our spiritual connection was also. I sensed it the most when I held Madison on my lap after we’d both orgasmed.
Staring into her eyes, I felt an almost tangible energy flowing back and forth between us.
It was as if our souls were one in that moment.
As my gorgeous goddess came out of the bathroom, walking toward me, she smiled. I did, too.
“I need to go back to the ranch house and check in with my parents,” she said, sitting on the edge of my bed.
I reached for her hand and held it. “I don’t want you to leave.”
“I don’t want to either.”
“Do you have time for me to cook breakfast for us?”
“No, but I do have time for a cup of coffee if you don’t mind.”
“Of course not.”
Madison stood up, then I grabbed my boxer briefs off the floor and put them back on as she watched, tugging on her bottom lip with her teeth.
“Your dick is so big,” she said, grinning.
“Do you like it?”
“You know I do—a lot.”
“You know I like that heaven between your legs a lot. I’m going to need some more of you.”
“Ditto.”
In the kitchen, sitting at the island and sipping our cups of straight black coffee, I asked Madison if I would see her later today.
“I hope so,” she said.
“Have you ever ridden a horse?”
“I have not.”
“Would you like to?”
“Only if it’s Casper.”
“That’s what I had in mind. I’ll have him in the corral at eleven. Come join us.”
“I would love to.”
I ran my fingertips across her cheek. “Do you have any regrets about last night?”
She frowned, shaking her head. “No. Why would you ask me that?”
“Just checking. I still can’t get over the fact that I’m the second man you’ve been with.”
“I saved myself and was teased by my sister and closest girlfriends for still being a virgin in my early twenties, then I met Ty. I thought he was the one for me, the one worth giving myself to. I was obviously mistaken, but the good part of marrying him is that I got Bella out of the deal.”
“She is an angel. I hope you don’t mind my asking, but you and Ty were good in the beginning, right?”
“Yep.”
“How long did that last?”
“For a while, then little by little, he became uninterested in me, sexually. I asked him several times what I did to make him that way. He used the excuse of being overloaded at work. Na?ve me, I bought into it, thinking Ty would come back around, then I noticed a pink lipstick stain on the collar of one of his dress shirts as I was dropping them off at the dry cleaners. I took the shirt back home with me, hid it in my closet for evidence, and started investigating Ty, you could say. I checked his cellphone several times while he was sleeping and found nothing suspicious. When I broke into his email account, I realized why he was no longer interested in me. He was having an affair with the woman he dated before he and I met.”
I shook my head, sad for Madison. “I’m sorry you faced all of that.”
“Me too. It hurt a lot. Have you ever had your heart broken by a woman?”
“Nope.”
“You’ve never been in love?”
“Young love with a girl in high school. We grew apart and split on good terms two years after graduation.”
“What’s her name?”
“Sierra.”
“Is she still in Amarillo?”
“Yep.”
“Have you ever run into her around town?”
“On occasion.”
“Is she pretty?”
“Not compared to you.”
“What color is her hair?”
“Blond.”
“Am I the first redhead you’ve been involved with?”
“You are.”
“FYI, Ty’s looks don’t compare to yours either.”
“I would have never pictured you with a guy like him. He’s barely taller than you and has nearly lost all of his hair.”
“Remember the man you made leave me alone at the bar at Midnight Rodeo?”
“Sure do, and I just put together why you had such an aversion to him. He reminded you of Ty.”
“Bingo. I’m curious what kind of guy you picture me with.”
I smiled and pointed at my face. Madison cracked up laughing, pushing me on my arm.
“You’re too much, Luke Harrison.”
“I think I’m perfect for you and you’re perfect for me.”
“You and I have lived such different lives and in such different locations.”
“We have, but we can learn a lot from each other.”
“That’s what my sister told me. Have you learned anything from me yet?”
“Yep.”
“What?”
“I’ll put it this way: you’ve made me believe that life can be fun and fulfilling. You don’t realize how much your presence lights up my world.”
“You’ve done the same to mine. I was scared to death to get close to you, though.”
“I know.”
“But not out of fear that you’d do me wrong. I just couldn’t see how in the world you and I could ever work.”
“Because of the proximity between our homes?”
“That’s it.”
I reached for Madison’s hands and held them. “Listen, I know how young whatever this is between you and me is, but I feel like I’ve known you for years.”
“I also feel that way about you.”
“Everything effortlessly flows between us. You’re so comfortable to me. On top of that, you’re gorgeous and phenomenal in the sack.”
She cracked up laughing again. “You aren’t too shabby yourself. No, you’re phenomenal too. I’ll tell you a little secret: I rarely orgasmed when I had sex with Ty.”
“Why?”
“Besides his not being able to last long, I’ve always struggled with getting in the moment until I was with you. You unlocked my mind so easily. I was like putty in your hands.”
“Like I was in yours. Still am.”
