CH 19 - #happy
#happy
Madison
When Luke took me back to the ranch house, he walked me to the front door, kissing and hugging me before he left to go back to his cabin, eat breakfast, shower, and go to work, training one of the quarter horses.
Hearing the TV on in the living room, I headed to it.
As soon as my parents saw me, they smiled.
“There you are! Did you and Luke have fun on your date?” my mom asked.
“We had a blast. He’s taking me riding on Casper later. I’m excited.” I glanced at my dad, then looked back at him. He was grinning like a Cheshire cat. “What is it?” I asked.
“My youngest daughter is glowing.”
I touched my cheeks. “I know.”
“Luke is good for you. I suspect you’re good for him, too.”
“He told me I am.”
“Are you happy?”
“Today, I’m very happy.”
“Your mom and I are very happy for you and Luke both.”
“He and I talked about our relationship. It’s too soon to tell where it’s heading, but we’re along for the ride, taking it one moment at a time. It’s just so strange to me to meet a man like Luke. I would have never thought, as opposite as we are, that we would’ve hit it off like this.”
“The only thing I can see that’s opposite between you and him is where you grew up. Other than that, I see a lot of similarities.”
I thought about it, finally nodding. “I suppose we do.”
“When did you get those cowgirl boots?” my mom asked, pointing at them.
“Yesterday. Luke took me shopping. Crap, I forgot the hat he bought me at his cabin. I’ll get it from him later.”
“That sure was kind of him to do that for you.”
“Yep, it was. He’s so thoughtful and caring. I’m well looked after when I’m with him and feel safe.”
“I can tell he’s a protector, as men should be.”
“He got a triple dose of chivalry, too; my romantic heart is happy to report.” I thumbed over my shoulder. “I’m going to grab something for breakfast, then take a shower.”
“There’s some leftover breakfast quiche on the stovetop. It’s probably still warm.”
“Oh, that sounds good!”
After scarfing down a slice of my mom’s yummy quiche, made with eggs, diced ham, shoestring potatoes, cheese, and jalapeno peppers, I went to my bedroom and opened my text thread with my sister.
Me: Guess what?
Meredith: No idea.
Me: I was properly fucked by a cowboy last night.
My sister added exclamation marks to my message.
Meredith: How was it being with Luke?
Me: Amazing! He took me in every position.
Meredith: Where did you have sex with him?
Me: In his bed.
Meredith: Did he make you cum?
Me: He damn sure did. I had never cum so hard in my life. Luke touched my body like we’d been together for ages. He knew exactly what to do to me to get me there.
Meredith: It’s about time you were with a real man.
Me: I just feel happy about everything.
Meredith: I’m smiling for you.
Me: I can hardly wait for you to get here next weekend and meet Luke. He makes me want to stay in Amarillo longer.
Meredith: Nothing is stopping you.
Me: I’ll see how things go.
Meredith: Have you checked on Bella with her idiot father?
Me: No, but I’m going to in a little bit. I hope she’s having fun and not just sitting in that hotel room watching TV while Ty plays on his cellphone.
Meredith: I hope so too.
Me: I’ll let you go. Just wanted to update you on Luke and me.
Meredith: When are you two getting together again?
Me: At 11. He’s taking me horseback riding.
Meredith: You are turning into a country girl. I love it.
Me: I never saw myself like this, doing all of this, until Luke came along. The wildness in him is so appealing.
Meredith: He’s making you wild. Couldn’t be prouder.
Me: Love you.
Meredith: Love you too.
Before I hopped into the shower, I looked at my body in the mirror, remembering all the ways Luke touched me last night.
I could still feel his lips on me, him moving inside me, and hear him groaning when he orgasmed.
One thing I was relieved about was the chemistry of his body with mine.
He smelled good on my skin. Ty never did.
I always used to shower after he and I had sex to get his scent off me.
I wanted to keep Luke’s on me, but I wouldn’t dare see him again without getting cleaned up.
Stepping beneath the warm water, I closed my eyes and stood still, thinking about Luke.
It was unbelievable to me that he’d never been married or had children.
I wouldn’t have minded the latter at all, but I wouldn’t have wanted to deal with a crazy ex-wife.
Some of my girlfriends back in Dallas had horror stories about their husbands’ ex-wives.
As for Luke and my baggage? I was thankful he didn’t have a problem with it.
When I started bathing myself between my legs, I winced at how tender I was after having sex with Luke. I wasn’t certain that I could take all of his inches, but I did and was feeling it now. His leaving his mark on me was worth it, though.
* * *
I went outside at 10:55 a.m. and saw Luke and Casper in the corral. As I began walking toward them, Luke looked in my direction. He smiled from cheek to cheek, making me do the same.
“Hi, my gorgeous goddess,” he said when I reached the gate, his long-lashed hazel eyes sparkling.
“Hi, my handsome cowboy.”
He stepped away from Casper, tied to the railing, and opened the gate for me. As soon as I walked through it, Luke grabbed me by the hand and pulled me into his warm kiss, both of us smiling against each other’s teeth afterward.
“I’ve missed you,” he said.
“It’s only been a few hours.”
“Doesn’t matter. I still missed you.”
“I missed you, too.”
“Are you ready to do this?”
“Yep.”
“I really like hearing you talk like me.”
“I really like your effect on me.”
“Ditto.”
“Now that’s my word.”
“Turnabout is fair play.”
We both chuckled, then Luke led me around to Casper’s left side, near his head.
“Hey, sweet boy,” I said, letting him sniff my hand. Once he had, I petted his nose. It was like velvet.
“Alright, Madison, step up onto that stool next to Casper. Then I want you to grab the reins and Casper’s mane with your left hand and place your left foot in the stirrup.
After you do, grab the horn on the saddle with your right hand, spring up, and swing your right leg over and gently settle into the seat.
I’ll be right behind you, helping you up. ”
I took a deep breath, nodding.
“Don’t be nervous. You’ll do fine, baby.”
I began going through each of Luke’s instructed steps as he kept his hands wrapped tight around my waist, giving my ass cheeks a quick squeeze as I swung my leg over the saddle.
The moment I was seated, I looked down at Luke, who looked up at me with the biggest shit-eating grin, his dimples so deep.
“You planned that!” I chuckled, shaking my finger at him.
“I sure did.”
“You bad boy.”
“But you love me.”
I stared at him, the expression on my face growing serious. “Wouldn’t take much more to fall.”
He searched my eyes, the expression on his face the same as mine now. “I’m right there with you, Madison, as crazy as it sounds.”
“At least this isn’t one-sided.”
“Far from it. Don’t move.”
He stepped away from me, and then I noticed my cowgirl hat hanging from the corral railing. Luke grabbed it and brought it over to me.
“Thank you,” I said, putting it on.
“You’re welcome. I’m going to lead Casper around by the reins. You keep hanging on to the saddle horn.”
‘Okay.”
As the magnificent white animal began to move, I was amazed. He had such great power, yet was so calm and gentle.
“How does that feel to you?” Luke asked.
“It’s fine. I’m so high up.”
“The only time you’ll ever be taller than me.” He winked and continued leading Casper around the corral.
“You really love this horse, don’t you?”
“A lot. He’s my best buddy. After my dad died, I took Casper on a long ride and camped out with him on the ranch for two days while trying to get my head and heart straight.
Like dogs, horses can sense a human’s emotions.
As I sat by the campfire, Casper stayed right behind me, randomly touching me with his nose as if he were telling me that everything was going to be alright. ”
My eyes welled up at hearing what Luke had just shared with me. “That is so sweet.”
After another round in the corral, Luke stopped Casper. “I’m going to join you up there.”
“We won’t both fit in the saddle.”
“I’m sitting behind it.”
I glanced over my shoulder. “That’s enough room for you?”
“It’s plenty.”
Seconds later, we were both riding Casper, Luke guiding him with the reins with one hand and his other wrapped around my waist. As we were heading back toward the gate, I noticed my parents standing by it, smiling as they watched Luke and me.
“Look at you two! I’m going to take your picture,” my dad said as we neared him and my mom. Then he snapped one with his cellphone after we came to a stop.
I told him to let me see it. He turned his screen toward me. I sighed. “Please text that to me. It is so good!”
“I’ll text it to you, too, Luke.”
“Thank you, sir.”
“Daughter, do you like riding a horse?”
“I love it. Of course, how could I not, with Casper being the one I’m riding? He’s incredible.”
“We’ll let you kids be. Your mom and I just wanted to see what you were doing close up. I can hardly believe my eyes.”
“I would’ve never done this if it hadn’t been for Luke. I trust him with my life.”
“So do I.”
