Chapter 45

NEVER LETTING YOU GO

Killian

Like tiny bolts of electricity, each word Lexi spoke poured life into my reanimated heart. It wasn’t black and dead anymore, but slowly returning to the land of the living.

I crawled out from between her legs, grabbed the back of her neck, and kissed her, her arousal still dripping from my lips and tongue. Instead of fighting it, she melted, moaning as I devoured her.

“I’ll give you exactly what you want, Red.” I ran my thumb over the center of her throat as her pulse wildly danced. “Do everything I say, and I’ll reward you.”

Fire brewed in those hypnotic blue eyes. “Like hell. I don’t like being told what to do, Kill.”

Roughly tearing off her bra, a growl burst between my teeth. Her naked body lay before me on the navy and white covers, auburn locks flowing around her perfect tits.

Fuck. She was beautiful.

And mine.

“I need you to do as I say, Red, because if you don’t, I might break you.” I shed my shirt and tossed it aside. “Just trust me.”

Lexi looked too damn sexy when she cocked her head and arched an eyebrow. “I don’t think we’re there yet.”

My jaw ticked as an invisible hand wrapped around my heart and squeezed. I didn’t have the right to ask it. But I needed it all the same. My control was slipping, and the unchained monster inside me wanted her as much as I did.

And I wouldn’t be able to hold back once I buried myself inside her.

“Can you try, baby?” I lowered my mouth to hers, my tongue dipping inside and swirling with hers, getting lost in that sweet flavor.

She gripped my shoulders and forced me away to peer into my face. She must have found something there because there was a shift in her expression. Her resolve crumbled.

“I’ll try, but I can’t promise I won’t argue.” The edges of her lips hitched into a smile. “Arguing with you has become my favorite pastime.”

I shook my head, fighting a grin. “You love pissing me off.”

“I love you inside me even more.”

Those words broke the last of my control, and my nostrils flared as blood rushed to my already hard cock.

“Turn over.” Unable to wait, I flipped her onto her stomach.

Her back was just as beautiful as her front. My fingers dug into her ass as I squeezed each cheek hard enough to bruise.

“This is mine.” My muscles strained to keep the lust from completely taking over. I peppered her lower back with kisses. “Mine, too.”

“Kill, are you going to lay claim to every part of my body, or are you going to fuck me?”

When my tongue dragged up her spine all the way to the base of her neck, her low moan echoed through the boat. “All mine. Say it, Red.”

Lexi’s fingers curled into the pillow as I cupped her pussy, grinding the heel of my palm into her heat.

“I’m yours. All yours.” Her breath came in erratic pants. “Please, Kill. I can’t wait any longer.”

“You know how much I love when you beg.” I sucked her throat and marked her like a horny, possessive teenager. “Do it some more.”

“Please.” She wiggled against me, her eyes rolling in the back of her head as I thrust a finger inside. “I’m seriously going to pass out from this torture.” Her lips trembled, she was on the verge of tears.

“Fuck, baby. Don’t cry.” I slid behind her and clutched her hips, careful not to bang my head on the top bunk. Honestly, right now, I wouldn’t care if I did. “On your hands and knees.”

She complied and rubbed her ass against my dick to ease the desire she finally stopped hiding. “I swear I will walk off this boat if you don’t—”

I grabbed her hair at the base of her neck and slammed into her in one go, making her cry out. My inner beast roared at the sight of her ass perched in the air, spine arched and head tilted back. Being inside Lexi was like coming home from a horrific war.

Hell, my life had been a war for years, constantly fighting the real me and pretending to be a Davenport. I lost myself a long time ago, the day I lost her.

“I’ve never been as hard as I am when I’m inside you.” I pulled out and crashed back in, her drenched cunt fully sheathing me without protest. “You’re dripping down your legs. Am I the only one that makes you this wet, Red?”

She'd better fucking say yes.

“Yes, Killian.” She matched my thrusts with her own, my balls smacking against her cheeks each time. “No one else makes me feel like this. No one ever has. You’re the only one.”

“I will be the only one from now on.” The thought of anyone else near her had me ready to go off the rails.

I would kill for her. I would die for her. I sure as fuck would break any asshole’s hand who assumed he had the privilege to touch her.

Did Lexi have any idea how serious I was? There was no living without her anymore. I’d rather be six feet under.

Tremors raced through her body as I pounded into her from behind, the slapping of our bodies and her breathy pants pushing me closer and closer to the edge. Her arms gave out, and she crashed onto her elbows.

“I-I can’t wait anymore, Kill.” A tear streaked her flushed cheek as her mouth opened, her frantic breaths filling the cabin.

“It’s okay.” I released her hair, grabbed her hips, and slid my shaft even deeper. “You’ve been such a good girl for me. You can come now.”

My words were all she needed.

Lexi cried out my name as she came apart around my cock, the tight pull of her body nearly driving me insane. Watching her lose control beneath me split something open inside my chest, breaking through my defenses and dragging her back into my heart—along with a piece of my soul.

“Kill, I missed you so much.” She looked at me over her shoulder, her blue gaze so full of trust I didn’t deserve, but I would take anyway.

I swallowed back the lump in my throat and pulled out. Her brows furrowed, thinking I was done, but I spun her onto her back and straddled her.

Her entire body stiffened, rigid beneath me.

“You’re safe with me, remember?”

She nodded, and the tension in her muscles faded. “I know, Kill.” Her legs spread, wrapping around my waist. “I want you to come.”

It wouldn’t take long. Not when she looked at me like I was her best friend and lover instead of the asshole who betrayed her.

I buried my cock in her, groaning at the warmth flooding my bloodstream. Her eyes fluttered closed, but I grabbed her throat. “Keep them open. I need you to look at me.”

Those blue orbs burned as I thrust in and out so hard the boat rocked like it was drifting in a turbulent ocean.

The wood of the bed creaked and groaned, and I was surprised the shit didn’t fall apart.

Lexi held my shoulders, her nails digging in and creating a surge of pleasure-pain that had me moaning.

The orgasm violently tore through me, a roar bursting from my mouth as I spilled into her. Lexi cried out, coming again while I clutched her so hard bruises would surely be left behind.

Being loved by me didn’t come without pain. She’d probably already figured that out.

Once we both landed back on Earth, I rolled onto my back and pulled her against my chest, spreading kisses over her cheeks and forehead. “I’m never letting you go, Red.”

After transferring Lexi’s French toast from the takeout container to a plate, I licked sugar off my fingers as she slept like the dead a few feet away in the bed. I obviously wore her out last night. We didn’t stop fucking until the sun came up.

For the first time in my life, I made love to someone. That was the only way to describe what we did. It sure as hell wasn’t just sex. You didn’t feel like this after sex. Or at least, I never had.

I blinked away the burning in my eyes before I started crying like a little bitch. For fuck’s sake, this girl had turned me back into a lovesick teenager.

Some of the warmth vanished as thoughts of me as a teen took me to thoughts of the dangerous battle ahead.

We had to deal with Stan. I couldn’t let him get away with this.

I hated ruining my mom’s fairytale life, but she needed to know she didn’t marry Prince Charming.

She married the villain who stole his face.

Of course, Stanford Davenport wasn’t your average man. He was probably the most powerful member of the Serpents & Daggers. Taking him down wouldn’t be easy.

Was it even possible?

I shook the dark images off before I could spiral into a panic attack and sauntered to my girl, gently waking her with a kiss. “Hey, Sleeping Beauty. I bet you’re hungry.”

Her lids fluttered open, those eyes, as blue as a summer sky, finding mine. Her slow smile made my heart skip. “What time is it?”

“A little after noon.” I chuckled at her gasp. “You needed the sleep, Red. And now you need to eat.”

She scooted up, wincing from the soreness in her muscles. “Where did you get the food?”

“Axel brought it.” My roommate always jumped at the chance to shove food down my throat, thinking I never ate enough, and I trusted him not to reveal our location. “He also brought us some clothes.”

Thankfully, he had Cordi’s help to pack a few things for Lexi.

“You thought of everything.” She pulled the covers back, pressed her feet to the floor, and stood, my shirt falling to her thighs.

Heat glided through my veins. “Feel free to wear my shirt as long as you like. It looks good on you.”

A blush coated her cheeks as she ducked her head and strolled into the kitchenette. “I like wearing your clothes.”

She shouldn’t have said that if she didn’t want me to bend her over the counter. There was no hiding my hardening dick through the sweatpants I now wore.

I gripped her hips and hoisted her onto the counter, ignoring the stinging pain from my bruised and busted knuckles. “You might be too weak from last night. I should feed you.”

She playfully slapped my bare chest. “I’m quite capable of feeding myself.”

“I'd better do it, Red.” I stabbed a piece of French toast with the fork, rolled it in syrup, and lifted it to her mouth. “Be a good girl and open wide.”

Pretty sure I’d said that a couple of times last night too.

She rolled her eyes but did as I commanded, moaning when she tasted the delectable dish from Betty’s Diner. “This is amazing.”

As I fed her a few more bites, watching the light dancing in her eyes, more life spilled into my heart. The black hole within me shrank a little more, and tiny pieces of my soul returned with each smile I won.

When she started to turn blurry, she cocked her head, brows furrowed. “What’s wrong, Kill?”

Damn it. I couldn’t stop the burning in my eyes, not when she looked at me like she did when we were kids.

“I can breathe,” I blurted, swallowing rapidly while trying to blink back tears. “For the first time in so fucking long, I can finally breathe.”

Lexi pulled me in, wrapping her legs and arms around me as I buried my head against her shoulder. “I know what you mean.”

She didn’t, though. She didn’t need me like I needed her. I’d fallen back into her orbit, and it would take a cosmic disaster to break me out of it again. And I wouldn’t survive it.

My fingers dragged down her spine as my lips brushed over her ear. “I...” Fuck, what am I doing! “I lo—”

My phone blared into the cabin, stealing the words from my tongue.

Was I really about to tell her I loved her?

I’d probably scare her right the fuck off.

I pulled away from Lexi, averting my gaze as I grabbed my phone off the counter. Just to avoid those questioning eyes, I answered the unfamiliar number.

“I’m only going to ask you one time, Killian. Where. Is. The. Fucking. Video?”

My stomach dropped, a giant pit of dread tearing open. “Bass.”
