Chapter 7 Nightmare Trigger

So tired. So exhausted.

That damn Xie Siyuan tormented me half the night.

Bed, sofa, window, bathroom, vanity—everywhere got used.

After I collapsed from exhaustion, I had a dream.

In the dream, someone told me I wasn’t Shen family’s daughter at all.

Shen Chuxue was.

Back then, the terminally ill nanny swapped me and Shen Chuxue.

I got the rich life, while she dumped Shen Chuxue in an orphanage and then drowned herself.

Shen Chuxue grew up tough. In elementary school she got sponsored by the Xie family.

She worked hard and ended up in the same high school class as Xie Siyuan.

They were destined bitter lovers fated to be together.

And I was just a short episode on their road to love.

Xie Siyuan only married me to use me and climb back to the top.

Once he made his comeback, he would take revenge.

After all, I had humiliated him so much—our marriage was the darkest stain in his life.

Fortunately, Shen Chuxue would be like light, healing and warming him.

In the end they would live happily ever after.

While I would be despised by everyone, cyberbullied, then dragged into a dark alley by thugs.

I cried and screamed Xie Siyuan’s name, begging him to save me.

Save me.

I swore I would never cling to him again. I would never like him again.

His face turned cruel and cold. He looked down at me and said it was my retribution.

In the dream I still refused to give up and shouted at him: “Xie Siyuan, have you ever loved me?”

He answered without hesitation: “Never.”

In that damp, dark alley, right before I died, I stared at the moonlight.

Still unable to believe: “Xie Siyuan, but I love you. I love you so much.”

A voice told me that hopeless love brains never get good endings.

No!

That’s not how it is!

I’m not a love brain at all.

And Xie Siyuan would never make that kind of face!
